June Secret Supper – 6:00 PM Seating

Here it is in short…
The service was excellent. The waitress for our table was very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. The food was good, but nothing left my head spinning. I liked the spring salad to start. It had a very nice flavor with the dill vinaigrette and was quite refreshing. The mac and cheese was a bit dry, but I ate plenty of it. The beans and peppers were a nice touch and the cornbread and biscuits were pretty tasty. I really appreciated the extremely fresh ingredients of all the dishes. The brisket stuck out the most and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was like meat butter and melted in your mouth. Overall, I enjoyed the food and thought all the flavors of each dish worked well together.
I really enjoyed the local Colorado wine provided by Creekside Cellars. It was a nice touch and complemented the meal nicely.
All in all I was very surprised that this Secret Supper was at Table 6. I was not surprised, however, that Scott Parker was a no-​show.
As always, Tiffany and Kelly did a tremendous job setting everything up. I am truly grateful for all they do for our community. I had a good time with good company.

Just the same as Claudia I too had heard wonderful things about Table 6 and I was really excited.
The food fell a little short for me and I felt there were a few technical flaws with the preparation. The baked beans, green beans and shoshito peppers we underdone for my liking. I did try a bite of the mac and cheese and my preference is a little creamier.
I loved the salad. It was fresh and all of the ingredients were very tasty. The fresh dill was just what the salad needed and it complimented the other ingredients nicely.

I liked the meat. It was nicely smoked and I enjoyed that it was served in sauce but not swimming in a overly sweet BBQ sauce. The meat quickly disappeared and we asked the waiter for a tad bit more and in a few moments more appeared on our table.
I did not venture to try the dessert — so I couldn’t speak to this dish.
Since other friends have raved about this small gem of a place I would like to come back to try them at a different time. Their Rabbit Salisbury Steak was listed in Denver Magazine as one of the 100 best dishes in Denver. So perhaps that says something.

Wow! It seems like we had a huge difference in experiences, depending on the table where you were sitting.
I must say, I always enjoy the Unilocal crowd. We sat with a «new to us» group of people, and enjoyed the friendly banter. It is obvious these people eat together regularly, and enjoy one another’s company. It was a real treat to watch them in action.
The service was outstanding. My water glass never got below the ½ full mark. The wait staff was always quickly available for any issue, and answered all questions professionally and with tremendous courtesy. Kudos to the staff!
The food was hit and miss. I found the serving platters to be confusing. By this I mean… for some dishes they provided two platters (or bowls) for the table, while other dishes had only one platter (or bowl) for the table. The meat was placed on one end of the table. I think the people at that end thought there would be another platter for the table and they loaded up, leaving a very small helping for the each person on the other end. We asked for more meat, and the staff quickly accommodated our request.
The BBQ Brisket was tender, juicy and quite flavorful. The corn was served cold, but it was tasty. The cornbread and biscuits were fine, but nothing special. The grilled veggies were not seasoned well, and were somewhat under cooked. The mac and cheese I found to be quite tasty. The baked beans were definitely under cooked at our table, and were too sweet for my liking.
I felt the dessert was dry, and the strawberry sauce tasted like strawberry jam from a jar. Not a hit for me or my dinning companion.
However, the salad was a total 5 star dish. I would go back for that salad alone!
I also enjoyed the Viognier wine selection, and look forward to a visit to the winery in Evergreen.
I will try Table 6 again, since I believe they are truly better than the evening’s fare would suggest.

I’ve been wanting to try Table 6 for quite a while, but it fell short of my expectations. The atmosphere was very inviting and the staff were friendly and attentive. I especially appreciate that they made an additional dish for the vegetarians since there were two dishes with meat on the menu! I also enjoyed the appetizer bread with butter and black salt. The cornbread and biscuits seemed unnecessary to me since I’d already had my fill of bread at the start of the meal. I think that trying to serve all the dishes at once was maybe not the best decision on how to serve the meal. The beans and peppers were way under cooked and cold — I could not eat more than a couple bites of them. The squash was flavored nicely, but also cold and mushy. The corn sat on the counter quite a while before being brought to the table and was also cold. The mac and cheese was my favorite, but it was a fairly standard mac and cheese (it might have been better if served while warm). The dessert was also a disappointment. While the cake and ricotta filling was nice, the portion was tiny and I wasn’t a fan of the strawberry jam. I love the concept that they use local, seasonal ingredients, but I could make most of the dishes we were served at home.

For my 1^st Secret Supper Club I had high expectations. I was super excited when I found out we were going to Table 6, as I have been wanting to try it for years and never made it there. I really loved the experience, and now believe I will be attending every month. It is a cool way to meet new people outside my Unilocal Elite bubble.
The food was good, nothing amazing, most of it I could make at home. We started with bread with warm salted butter, which was good but as others have mentioned there was another bread course, too much carbs if you ask me. The salad was my favorite part of the meal, it was refreshing and tasty. The main course and the sides were all good; the veggies were all cold, I am not sure if this was done on purpose??? The meat was cooked perfect and tasted wonderful. Overall the meal was not everything I hoped, but filled me up and made me happy.
The wine pairing was a good crisp white wine from Colorado Creekside Vineyards; it was a good choice for a hot summer evening. Table 6 had a very nice wine and beer list, the staff was well educated and made good recommendations. Speaking on the service, it was above bar, my water glass was never empty and they were very polite and professional. I love the open kitchen style of dinning; it was fun to watch the chefs.
I really enjoyed the experience and thanks go out to Kelly and Tiffany for giving me another addiction.

Man, y’all are harsh! OK, here’s the thing… I’m a huge Table 6 fan. So, I was pretty excited to see that Table 6 was going to be the gracious host to this meal.
As always, Kelly and Tiffany did a great job of organizing another fantastic dinner.
The salad with dill was fantastic, loaded with great, fresh veggies, seasoned perfectly, and having a great dressing while not over-​dressed. The Creekside Viognier was a great accompaniment to all of the dishes as well. Who knew they could make good Viognier in Colorado? Onto the mains… mac and cheese was fantastic as were the baked beans. There was plenty of flavor bursting out of the baked beans, and who doesn’t like mac and cheese with oodles of bread crumbs? The brisket? Holy hell, that was good brisket. The grilled veggies were also very good as was the corn on the cob. They were a bit on the cooler side, but who gives a damn when the stuff is cooked perfectly and so fresh. You want sweet corn? Buy it from whoever Table 6 buys it from, cause that was some fantastic sweet corn. Finally, the strawberry desert was fantastic as well. The bread and butter here is always good as well. (I like the salted butter approach) Service was fantastic as always.
A very good showing from my neighborhood joint, and I’m glad Unilocalers got to experience one of the better restaurants in Denver IMO.

On to the food.
I love Table 6 so I was super psyched when I heard that was the restaurant. The Viognier was impressive! I can’t believe that’s a CO wine. I had to get the woman’s business card to see about maybe ordering some wines from that winery. You can pretty much only get it direct. I wish we would have gotten more than just one wine and more than just one wine glass (one glass for that entire meal just wasn’t enough).
The food. The salad was AWESOME! The Brisket… melt in your mouth! The mac-​n-​cheese, although not the best I’ve had I was definitely loving it! I’m not a huge baked beans fan but this one was actually good! The veggies were just okay for me. The green beans were a bit too hard. The corn was good though! I loved the dessert. Wasn’t too much or overly sweet (I’m not usually a sweets person).
The bread and the salty butter… always yummy.
I sat at a 4-​top table with only one other person so the service was fantastic from start to finish!
Overall I loved the food and the entire evening!

I wanted to love this evening but just couldn’t. As always the crowd was fabulous and there were some highlights, but overall this is the first time I’ve ever felt I didn’t get my money’s worth (usually I think holy cow that should have cost twice as much). After all of the hard work that goes into preparing these events I never want to ding anyone, but this is my honest review…
The venue was painfully warm, I know it’s hard to control during record breaking heat, but it really detracted from the experience. Ice water would be a huge help in such a hot stuffy place. Sadly to counter the warm air most of the food was somewhere slightly under room temperature. This was one evening where family style was simply not the right answer.
The salad was quite lovely as others have said. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the flavors as I would have probably turned it down on description alone.
The mac and cheese was the star of the evening for me and frankly the only thing there was enough of. It was warm and delicious with lots of layered flavors.
The beans were very interesting but seemed underdone. I go back and forth on whether I love or just like the flavor.
The brisket was a huge bummer, our table got enough for each person to have one slice — one very small slice that was half fat. I’m sorry but any meal of brisket I’ve ever eaten involves either one big ol slab or two or three slices. I felt like I barely got to taste it before it was gone. It was tasty and fall apart tender, but the temp was objectionable. I’m all for cold meat, or hot meat, tepid is unappealing.
The grilled veggies were hit and miss, the corn tasted lovely but I don’t understand why it was sitting out already prepared when we walked in at 5:50 — when it hit the table much much later it was also tepid — half of the joy of the grill is something freshly grilled. The grilled squash was lovely tasting, but soggy and luke warm from sitting. The shishito peppers were a huge bummer, they were also cold, but on top of that I don’t think they spent enough time on the grill before being served. Until last night I’d never met a shishito I didn’t like.
The corn bread was delicious, I love carbs so the extra bread was fabulous and helped fill the void left by too little brisket.
As someone else mentioned I too love dessert and honestly I would have rather had none than the unfortunate little bite we got. As a rule I dislike goat cheeses, this ricotta was quite lovely, on such a hot night fresh strawberries would have been preferable to strawberry jelly. The servers were quite friendly but I’m uncertain why it took so long to prepare such a tiny bite.
All in all I’m probably not headed back to Table 6.

Like all of the Secret Supper events, I could give this one 5 stars based on the event itself. The planning, organizing and smiling faces are all wonderful.
But…I would give the food at this event only a 3 at best. I guess that rounds to 4 stars… slightly generous, but I did have fun.
The evening started off wonderfully with hot bread served with soft butter with a sprinkle of black salt. This was a perfect way to begin for the carb lover in me. The wine was poured, a Viognier from Creekside Cellars in Evergreen (Note to self: go to Evergreen). I don’t especially care for white wines, but one glass with the appetizer is usually fine. But… that was the only wine. No reds, no cocktails… bummer. I had to order a beer from the bar.
We were then served a delightful salad with dill, red onions and good cheese. I should have stopped eating right at that moment. The rest of the meal was boring… plain…uninspired…cold. Yes, I really like family style, but only if it has flavor.
To put the meal into perspective, our party went out after dinner for dessert.

It was a perfect evening for an indoor summer picnic as the temperature rose well into the triple digits across the Denver metro. As I walked down the block to Table 6, I could smell barbeque. The mood was set.
The evening began with an aromatic and delicious Viognier wine from Creekside Cellars in Evergreen. The Creekside winemaker talked us about the winery and restaurant (it sounds simply lovely), the fickle Viognier grape, and wine making in Colorado in general. Did you know that there are over 100 wineries in our state?
Our first food course was a crisp chopped salad dressed with a light dill light vinaigrette. I’m not a fan of dill but the flavor was not overwhelming and it made for a nice salad. We also enjoyed some wonderful bread that looked freshly made. I appreciated the fact that the bread was sliced all the way through so we didn’t have to mangle the whole loaf just to get one piece. It’s the little things.
Our main course was BBQ beef brisket with sides. The brisket was tender and moist and had a yummy smoky flavor to it. I think it was my favorite part of the meal. Others have complained that the grilled squash and zucchini were mushy or soggy but I didn’t have that experience with mine. The green beans were al dente, which is fine by me, but the shisito peppers could have been cooked and seasoned more. I wonder if the corn on the cob was Olathe corn because it was so sweet and light, and nicely seasoned as well. I thought the mac and cheese was terrific, even though it wasn’t as cheesy as I usually prefer. I restrained myself from getting a second helping. I liked the idea of the baked beans dish but it was too sweet for my taste. I was really looking forward to the strawberry almond sponge cake dessert but it was a bit of a let down. It tasted fine but it was nothing special and the portion was very small.
I enjoyed the family style dining and I’m glad Unilocalers are so gracious in making sure everyone had a sampling of the food since some of the platters were too hefty to pass around. Table 6 is a cute and cozy bistro and I’d love to go back again for some of the regular menu items.

Another fun evening @ the Supper Club! I had never been to Table 6, so I am glad for the experience. I like that they are locally sourced and that the kitchen tries to be inventive. This was a nice introduction to the restaurant and I hope to be able to return. I must say I was most impressed with the front-​of-​the-​house. The service was spot on: organized, efficient, friendly and professional.
I think the kitchen struggled a bit with a few items, though. First, fair warning for future Supper Clubs: if you are sitting at my table, just know that I will hog the butter! Especially if it is as delicious as that salted butter they served with the rustic bread to start us off last night. I do believe that all of the little ramikans of butter ended up empty, in front of me. No apologies here.
A few slight disappointments, though. While I love the family-​style serving approach, much of our food was cold or lukewarm and this really took away from the meal. This was meant to be an indoor picnic, but I didn’t quite get the menu — was everything supposed to be cold items or was it a combination of cold & hot? Unfortunately, the items that should have been hot, such as mac & cheese, were not. The mac & cheese was only lukewarm instead of arriving piping hot & bubbly. There didn’t seem to be a lot of flavor to the mac & cheese, either, so the fact that it was merely warm didn’t add to the dish. The beef, however, was cooked perfectly. I love grilled veggies, but there was some inconsistencies: while the squash was cooked perfectly, the beans & peppers were undercooked. Again, I’m assuming these were meant to be cold or were they meant to be hot? Perhaps a cold salad of roasted veggies might have been more consistent with the picnic theme.
I did love the salad — it was light and an interesting combination of greens with some chevre and fresh corn — it really worked. Delicious!
Finally, the Booze review: I’m not one for white wine, but well chosen this time — light, crisp and refreshing and it went with everything. Of course, I didn’t pay attention to what is was, except for the fact that it was from a local vineyard up in Palisade and produced at a winery up in Evergreen. It’s now on my to-​do list to get up to Evergreen to enjoy their balcony.
A great beer list — a couple that I actually hadn’t heard of or tried before. I love to be introduced to new brews when I go out instead of the same ‘olé, same ‘olé.
All in all I liked the charm of Table 6 and am looking forward to an excuse to go back and try some different fare. Thank you to Kelly and Tiffany for a well-​organized night. Can’t wait for next month!

Thanks to Unilocal for once again planning a nice evening out. Having eaten at Table 6 once before and loving it I had high hopes. They were not quite met. The meal’s theme was summer picnic fair. Everything was served family style which I like, but the plates were so heavy and large it was hard to pass them around.
We started off with really good bread served with warm salted butter. While the bread was really good, we then got a huge basket of corn muffins and biscuits as part of the meal. They should’ve served those first and skipped the bread.
The summer salad we started with was really good and eaten all up. Then came all the entrees and sides which included grilled veggies which were just OK, mac & cheese made with ziti noodles, baked beans, and brisket. We actually asked for more brisket as there really wasn’t enough for everyone at the table to have a proper serving. We finished off with almond cake with ricotta filling. It was good, but I prefer to end meals with chocolate.
Overall it was a good dinner with fun Unilocal friends, but when I return to Table 6 it will not be for these items.

I love the secret supper concept and am truly grateful to any restaurant willing to participate. I also truly appreciate all that Tiffany and Kelly do to set up these wonderful events. That being said, my experience at Table 6 did not live up to expectations. Some elements were truly wonderful; some… not. So, overall, I would say Table 6’s offerings were «A-​OK» thus the 3 stars. I can’t push it to 4 and say that I’m a fan.
I arrived pretty darn early and was happy to find out that it was ok to hang out and order a drink before the dinner service. However, after I found a server and asked if it was ok to order a drink, she came back and took drink orders from two guys who arrived after me and didn’t even acknowledge my presence, let alone take my order. When she came back to deliver the gentlemen’s drinks I had to work to get her attention to take my order. I really don’t enjoy being treated like I don’t exist.
The start of the actual dinner was the best part. The salad with dill vinaigrette was heavenly. I wanted to eat more of it than I did, but tried to save room for everything else that would be coming out. I should have just had more salad. And, the bread at the start of the evening with the salted butter was amazing!
Moving on to the entrée with sides: The beef brisket was so tender and delicious. I also really enjoyed the green beans. They were crunchy and seasoned well, and I didn’t mind that they had gotten a bit cold. Same for the corn — so sweet and delicious. I didn’t enjoy the baked beans; the beans were a bit too solid (I prefer them mushier) and there was some flavor in there that didn’t appeal to me. The mac and cheese was a disappointment in my book — way too much mac to not enough cheese for my tastes. The biscuits and cornbread that were served with the meal were just alright; I would have preferred to have more of the first bread.
The dessert was very disappointing, and this from a girl who loves her sweets. Maybe it just wasn’t sweet enough for me. It was described as strawberry and almond cake with sweetened goat ricotta. The ricotta was good. The strawberry was almost non-​existent. I had a little dab of jam, instead of fresh strawberries that for some reason I was expecting. The cake did nothing for me and I left most of it on my plate.
Service was much better once the dinner began, so no complaints there. But, the layout of the seating and the lack of cooling were an issue. I’m cool with family-​style seating, but it seemed like we were pretty packed in. And, I apparently chose poorly, picking the only large table without a fan overhead. My poor dinner guest almost passed out from the heat partway through the meal and the clastrophobic seating didn’t help.
I was so excited to try Table 6. I had heard great things about them and their food. Unfortunately most of the offerings just didn’t wow me. Now I will probably not be as eager to try them again.
I missed the first two secret suppers so can’t speak to them, but in my experience the best one so far was at Trattoria Stella. The other three I’ve been to didn’t even come close to that amazing, more than 5-​stars experience.

It was a 5-​Star event. However, I believe it was 3-​Star food. I really enjoy these events, and love getting to see everyone. Kudos to Kelly and Tiffany on this shindig. (and it was nice to meet Gabi from Phoenix).
Firstly, the service was top-​notch. All the servers seemed very attentive, and our waiter (dark curly hair?) was always there when you needed him. He excelled.
I think that the menu planning for this dinner was a bit lackluster. I am kind of thinking that one should leave the barbecue fare to the places that do it best. Bottomless wine is always great, and I really enjoyed it. But, if you did not care for Viognier, you were out of luck. .. no booze for you (unless you bought it separately).
The salad was (for me) where the dinner peaked. It was tasty greens, with hidden treasures of onion and corn, tons of dill, decadently creamy chevre, and was nicely dressed. This paired extremely well with the excellent house bread and black salt dusted butter.
I love corn on the cob. However, these were served cold (at our table), and that pretty much killed any chance of really enjoying it. Example: butter would not melt on it.
The veggies were a bit of a failure. The squash and zucchini on the bottom were soggy, whereas the shoshito peppers were way, way under cooked (not grilled), and the green beans were basically raw. The one grilled green onion I had was fairly tasty.
The mac and cheese was very pedestrian. It was basic mac and cheese, but made with penne and a broiled panko topping. It was warm, and tasted fine, but was not exactly restaurant quality.
The cornbread and biscuits seemed unnecessary. They were acceptable filler, but nothing amazing was happening in the basket.
The beans were way under cooked. They were crunchy, and the bacon and tomato flavors had not had a chance to develop. Our big bowl could have easily cooked for another hour. This should not have come to our table like this. I talked to some other people who had beans that were cooked, and they enjoyed them. This was a bummer, as I am a big fan of beans, and i think this dish had potential.
The trough of meat went quickly at our table. My first piece was rather salty. We had them bring a few more slices. This second batch was very good. It was juicy, tender, flavorful, and delicious.
The dessert was anticlimactic. I think I would have enjoyed a Twinkie with a teaspoon of jam just as much. Normally, I am stuffed after a Secret Supper. But, some of us hit D Bar afterwards to get a more satisfying dessert.

Another secret supper club and I’m 6 for 6. Can’t wait for another 6 of these, I’m down for making all 12. Do we get a prize if we make it to all 12? Wishful thinking I guess.
Table 6 was a solid choice for our 6^th secret supper club. I had been here for brunch before and was looking forward to tasting some of their dinner options. The theme for this dinner was an inside picnic I believe comprising of:
Salad with dill, red onions, goat cheese and wonderfully light vinaigrette — best dish of the night.
Appetizer bread with butter topped with black salt — warm and decadent bread for the Unilocal carbonaters!
Corn on the cob — Nicely flavored but arrived a bit cold to the table — maybe the family style serving back firing on the kitchen.
Grilled Summer Veggies — Squash and Zucchini a little under seasoned and a bit soggy. Green Beans and Shisito peppers were not cooked enough and were very crunchy.
Mac and Cheese with Panco Bread Crumbs — A big hit at the table for the most part — nothing unusual or truly special, just some down home good Mac and Cheese
Corn Bread and Biscuits — Not sure why we needed another bread option after the appetizer bread. Both the corn bread and biscuits were very tasty, maybe this should have been the bread for the evening instead of two bread courses.
Baked Beans with Bacon — Beans tasted very al dente and crunchy — not a favorite for the table.
Meat — Very tasty and succulent — A nice size portion and good flavor all around.
The white wine was plentiful and was refreshing on a record hot summer evening. All the food was presented like a 5 star restaurant and overall the consensus was that we would be willing to give Table 6 another try with the regular dinner menu.
