Ok place. At first I was really impressed with services but later I saw that the meat I purchased wasn’t on the fresh side. Nice people.

Purchase a leg of lamb here that was phenomenal. Great meat, nice people, and many unique Eastern European and Russian specialty foods. I will definitely be going back to purchase more meat but also to explore the nice selection of specialty foods they carry.

Ok so I was looking for a leg of lamb for Easter. Most prices in the city were so dear I decided on getting it at a local butcher. I tried this place as it was close to home and hey why not. It’s a very small Russian grocer and butcher. And it was packed with people. Good sign! So I noticed the older woman who worked there(probably owner I assumed) slip another older lady a box of chocolates and told her not to worry about it! How nice was that! I ordered a whole leg of lamb and the nice young man at the counter pulled out a beautiful aged leg for me. Not only that but took a dollar off the price per pound! Not only that but also have me a box of Belgian chocolates! These people care about their customers and it shows. They also care about their business. I will definitely be back. I’m so looking forward to this beautiful lamb! Thank you!

I checked out this place looking on the off chance for German gelbwurst, since I had it about a month ago at Continental Deli and was in the neighborhood. It was not here. This is a fairly small ethnic grocery run by kindly(presumably) Russian folk — it is a more Russian populated neighborhood. They *do* have a wide selection of butcher-cut meats, deli meats and ethnic/non-mainstream offerings; but they have all the old standard selections as well. They also have the most delectable marzipan candies(in tan wrappers, labeled«Marcepan» on them. I may have to buy out their supply ;)). I grabbed a big handful and after not specifically finding what I was seeking, was ready to check out. They want a $ 10 order or more for debit/credit cards since they have to pay Visa, of course — but after some discussion they let it slide, which tells me a) they are anxious to move some product, and b) they are good hearted people. Which gets them the extra star. When I have more time in the future, I would love to come back here and explore their offerings further and what they have in stock; it looks tasty in here. :) Pretty inexpensively priced, too!
