Google said they open at 2. Showed up at 2:45 with my friend. They didn’t let us in, but let another couple in 15 minutes before us. I told the bartender it made me and my neighbor feel like losers. The bartender said we don’t open until 3. They could have at least gave us an explanation. I still love this bar, but they made me feel bad about myself. That’s why I’m still giving a 4 start rating.

This place is just cool! From the bar, the bartenders, and the drink specials. Go to play pool with the local cool kids and come out feeling like a bad ass! This place screams Denver hipster!

I had never heard of Horseshoe Lounge, but ended up there on a Monday evening; little did I know I was stepping into what would become my new favorite bar in the city.
Happy hour here is so good. $ 4 craft beers is pretty great, $ 2 PBRs for the stretch before pay day is even better. The bar serves all kinds of yummy snacks. I tried a pretzel with mustard and was so, so pleased.
The open layout with plenty of booths is what really makes this spot great though. It’s got plenty of room to sit, the music is loud and it’s not pretentious at all. Like an elevated dive bar.
The bartender who served me all night was super pleasant and kind too.

GREEN CHILE CHEESE TOTS??? That is all you need to know about this place. Well, there are a few other things, but the tots are crazy good. I feel like I need a cigarette afterwards, and I don’t even smoke. HUGE portion of baked tots, covered in mounds of green chile, pork, and cheddar cheese. Raise the roof. There are other flavorful options that I am sure are delicious (such as the poutine and bacon cheddar), but I haven’t gotten around to those yet.
The pizza keeps me coming back every once in awhile as well. Crispy thin crust with tons of toppings that won’t break the bank. My favorite is the Rat Pack. Sausage, pepperoni mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. Slap on some crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese, and you’re golden.
Darn, I’m hungry now, but what else is new?
The drinks are strong and nothing to complain about. The bartenders are nice and like to have a time. The bar area tends to get packed fairly quickly, but luckily there are a lot of seating options around the pool table, jukebox, pinball machine, etc.
Did I mention the green chile tots? Oh, I did? Just making sure.

Place is awesome! Prompt service. And such a comfy feel. The couches really make the place feel homie. With a pool table, and back patio you can smoke/​drink on I can see horseshoe becoming home base for many.

Five star dive bar. Cheap beer and drinks. Retro feel with pool tables.

A friend took me to happy hour at Horseshoe and upon entering this gem I instantly knew it would always be my favorite bar in Denver. That was two years ago and I couldn’t love this place more! Their atmosphere is the best. The antique furniture, comfy couches, glitter walls, pool table, Buck Hunt, dice bar top, disco ball, it never fails. As if the place couldn’t get any better, the staff is so friendly and amazing. PLUS their food will rock your socks off. Mac n cheese fries and the Lucky You pizza will do you no wrong. I bring all my friends from out of town here. Give it a try! You will never regret it.

Fun, hip, laid back bar. Cheap drinks and a super chill atmosphere. They have games and pool tables. The staff is efficient and friendly. Great place for casual drinking.

A pretty chill atmosphere and a nice patio out back to hang out when it’s nice out (or it’s not). Bartenders are pretty quick with the drinks, especially if you are sitting at the bar.
Happy hour specials are pretty good, including $ 2 off pizzas! If you’re feeling dangerous, you can also spend $ 2 and roll a die for a mystery shot… you never know what you’re going to get!

Been here a couple of times now and never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and the bar is always full of regulars. Food is decent even though I’ve only had their pizza. It can get pretty loud sometimes but it’s a fun place to go to.

Only because you can’t give 0 stars. The bartender forgot our nacho order the 1^st time and now we’ve been waiting 20 minutes from ordering a SECOND TIME so basically we’ve been here an hour and no nachos. Never coming back.

Ended our evening here last night. Sat in a booth with a group of friends. Loud atmosphere, difficult to carry on conversations with anyone besides the people directly next to you.
Great bartender — attentive to empty glasses and quick to bring out drinks. Great drinks, reasonably priced.
Slow food service. I repeat: SLOW food service. We waited an hour and twenty mins for two orders of fries for the table.

This is probably my favorite bar in the uptown area. I always have a blast when I come here. You can keep it chill or get really rowdy!
First off. great happy hour. Some pretty tasty small bites and of course good drink specials. They have good beer on tap and they also have some great cans of cheap beer like Hamms and Olympia.
The seating is ample. there is a decent patio out back and tons of couches and comfy booths. It really has a great feel to it. I suppose the only downfall is the smallish bathrooms. But whatever this place is a ton of fun!

After a few more visits, I’m less enthused.
Firstly, the service can be very hit & miss. Some bar staff are excellent while others are blah.
I sat next to a couple tonight who waited an hour for a food order to go, A single pizza, and it wasn’t that busy. Felt bad for them.
And speaking of pizza, I finally tried theirs and wasn’t impressed. It tasted like the cheap, frozen Tonys brand when it came to overall texture and taste. No kicking sauce. Cheese had no goo, only hard/​burnt texture. To be fair, the toppings were popping. But for $ 14, I expected something great and instead got DiGorno.

I heart this bar so much! The décor reminds me of sneaking a drink in my aunts 70s themed apartment. The place had a jukebox, pool table, a few video games and a great size patio with market lights. The crowd is alway fun and chill. The bar is made of entirely of dice.
The bar has this fun mystery shot offer for $ 2.00 — a roll of a dice determines what shot you get! I suggest you cheers with your friend and take it without sneaking a sniff. Most of the shots are flavored alcohol!
The tots in this place are so good! Those you should try too!

The Horseshoe is by far my favorite «dive» in Denver. With their lounge atmosphere (yes that is an Orange Velvet couch) and their awesome staff, I just can’t say no to a drink here.
My friend and I watched the AFC Championship (Broncos vs. Patriots) here. There was only one large TV in the lounge area and we had to pull chairs in from the patio to have a seat but that didn’t matter because it felt like we were watching the game with a huge family. Great experience!
I bought a house out of this neighborhood but I will continue to make the trek here because of the staff, the atmosphere and the affordable drinks! Love you SHOE!

Love this place. The bartenders are really great — no attitude, just good and friendly attentive service. If I lived in the area, I would be here weekly no doubt. It would be the place where everyone knows your name. The theme here is relaxed and friendly. They drinks are well priced and you don’t even have to be there for happy hour to think you got a good drink at a good price.
They have some good menu options that include pizzas and some «tots» combinations.
The theme seems to be late 70s living room with a well put together groupings of sofas that accommodates a small group for genuine living room style conversation. A pool table for some added entertainment. Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay.

The Horseshoe is one of those bars that never goes out of style. Cheap drinks, friendly staff, decent food… it pretty much has everything you’d want in a bar.
This is one of those places where you can really hang out for a few hours. You’re not going to be putting down too much cash for several good, stiff drinks or quality beers.
I also like their good an unpretentious food. It’s not a gastropub like its sister-​bar Jonsey’s next door… it has tater tots for goodness sake! And really good tots actually, dressed up in buffalo sauce and blue cheese chunks.
It’s also a good crowd here. Busy but not crowded, a late 20s and early 30s mix of young professionals and adults that just haven’t quite figured out what their profession is yet.
So easy to just slip into a booth or grab the couches and watch the game or shoot some pool. One of the best bars in Denver to spend an excellent night with friends.
