This is the second time I’ve dragged my butt from one end of the airport to the other just to find the gate down and no smell of popcorn to tickle my nose. Damn you. I really miss Garrett’s Popcorn so much more each time I look at the empty storefront. I’m going to buy popcorn in Chicago and sell it out of a pop up stand in front of Hixson’s so I can greet disappointed travelers from all over. When life gives you lemons, you’ve just gotta make popcorn balls I say.

When I was coming in from Phoenix on Saturday, Feb 27, I was determined to go get some popcorn from here. I had been here a few years prior and had the really yummy fresh caramel corn. I had wanted to try the cheese. WTF for $ 3, they gave me a pre-popped bag of stale, greasy coated popcorn packaged in Michigan. I was very disappointed this time around :’-(

It’s a popcorn cart in the Denver airport a la the variety you get at Chicago O’Hare. It’s good stuff, plain, cheese, or caramel, but their mixed bags are really the way to go. Popped fresh throughout the day; take some on the plane and make friends with your seatmates.
