Description

Specialties

The art of soft tissue balancing lies in Dr. Vander Wall’s ability to read a person’s tissue signs, postural expression, and «energy» — and find «reset buttons» for the tensions that pull their body off center. Why «Heartwood?» Like a tree, people are designed vertically with ‘roots, a trunk and branches’ connecting earth and sky. The goal of soft tissue balancing is simply to restore balance around one’s core or ‘heartwood,’ thus allowing energy flow and tension to connect fully up and down the body.

History

Established in 1991.

Dr. Vander Wall is a Colorado native and has been in private chiropractic practice for 23 years. The concept of Heartwood Soft Tissue Balancing has been developing all along the way with a constant emphasis on soft tissue techniques like Craniosacral Therapy and ART. Today Heartwood Soft Tissue Balancing represents a total inversion of dominant chiropractic thought. Instead of continually adjusting the spine with a quick forceful thrust and hoping that will resolve weak spots, Dr. Vander Wall recognizes that the balance of the soft tissues is primary to maintenance of spinal alignment. Without popping or thrusting, he prepares a home for spinal joints by unwinding nerve tension and realigning muscles, tendons, ligaments, and organs.
