Its a staple in this area for country music and dancing, and its not hard to see why once you’re in there. Not much seating, you have to elbow your way anywhere. Plenty of bars to choose from to get your drinks, so the lines aren’t terrible. TIP: buy your tickets in advance and print them out. You can skip most of the line.

I walked in to tho place and wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself into. I walked up to the bar and a very friendly face offered me a drink. Throughout the night I returned to snackpak for my drinks. There were several people with me and she was very conscience about paying attention to who was with our party and who wasn’t. She was also very in tune with what we were drinking throughout the night. Snackpak made a good experience, GREAT!!!

Update: My first time there wasn’t amazing, and I left a little ticked. But the owner reached out to me through Unilocal, and that alone is pretty awesome customer service. Maybe they were just having an off night last time. I’ll try again later.

So my husband and I went to go support a friend who was performing on stage. We normally carry around flasks and if the establishment has a problem with them we dump them out(and business people can watch if they’re so inclined) and then put them in our car. Never had a problem with this system and I get that it’s fudging the rules. But again, we never try to argue our case. The manager here was one of the worst people I’ve had to deal with. When we offered to dump it out and return to the car he attempted to keep my wedding flask claiming that we were on his private property. Um, no. He has the right to ask us to dump it or leave but not steal my property. If he didn’t like my shirt is he also entitled to take that case it’s on his private property? It’s just a flask and the only reason I’m leaving such a detailed review is because his reaction was totally disproportional to the situation. We were told it was a no no and we’re cool with that. You don’t have to be a dick to save face or bring other people down on your bad day, especially if someone is there to spend money in your bar. We always also buy when we carry. Maybe the music is good and I bet I could’ve still enjoyed myself if the fellow hadn’t taken our stuff and then kicked us out.

Nice bar. Country style. It kinda reminds me of the bar in the movie Road House! I went there for the MMA fight. It has a lot of space, a lot of bathrooms, and a lot for alcohol so I can’t complain! it has a stage also. I can’t put much into this review since I have only been once and it was for an event.

Last weekend on Jan 16, 2016, I had my first concert experience to the Grizzly Rose for the Cassadee Pope’s concert, and it was awesome! Before the concert started, I met some new friends there. All of them were really nice to me. I came to the Grizzly Rose alone, but I didn’t feel lonely. I love the atmosphere, and it is really different than the school parties I had ever been to. The whole room is not really big, but full of people. Most of them are cowboys or cowgirls wearing cowboy hats, shirts, jeans and boots. Also, if there are some people who want to smoke, there is a room for them so that they won’t bother other non-smokers. Before Cassadee Pope showed off, there was a guy wearing a black jacket and a black cowboy hat standing on the stage. He sang a lot of exciting country songs, which made the audiences get crazy. I love the time while he was singing«Honey Bee» by Blake Shelton and«the Thunder Rolls» by Garth Brooks, which are two of my favorite country songs. After Cassadee Pope showed off, Grizzly Rose was becoming more insane! It seemed like all the audience was getting really drunk and high, they screamed and danced like machines that never stop working. I can still remember that there was one time that I asked someone in the Grizzly Rose to take a picture of my friend and I. She took the photo 10 times and finally got a good picture. However, there are something that I need to say about the Grizzly Rose is that there are not enough tables for the audiences to have a rest and at that night I stood there for almost 4 hours. Also, the prices for drinks were a bit expensive. I bought a bottle of coke, which is 5 ounce for $ 1.50. I’m under 21 years old, so I do not really know how the price of alcohol will be. If there are any other foreign guys in Denver, Colorado who would like to be a cowboy(like me) and knows more about the culture, come to Grizzly Rose! Unless you are under 18 years old, this is where you belong!

We came to see LoCash and we showed up about 730, the cover band Buckstein came on 10 mins late, and were still on stage singing at 10– WEWALKEDOUT! We didn’t come to listen to covers all night, we came to hear LoCash. Sad we didn’t get to see them. GR you might want to rethink your opening band time frame. We heard a lot of folks that were upset and left early. We won’t be going to see a concert there ever again. Sad–

We had a blast here. It’s exactly what you think it is — a country western dive bar with a large standing concert area. It’s WAY bigger than we expected, and we loved exploring all the artist autographs on the walls from pretty much every major country artist in the past 50 years.

My husband used to frequent this place back in the mid-90s and hasn’t been in here on several years. He still loves it! It reminds me of the country bars I used to go to when I was younger, and loved it too!

Was way excited to see and hear Pat Green last night… but I couldn’t even enjoy myself because there was ZERO spaced allotted to dancing. The dance floor consisted of people standing around spilling their drinks. And don’t get me started on the way overpriced small plastic cups that drinks come in. For a «Saloon & Dance Hall» this was a major disappointment!

Cannot believe they let ONE person save an entire table for 10 people when there’s a concert. Would definitely skip this place next time. Empty tables taken by people not even here! Cannot get any service. Waitress has walked by us for a solid hour and won’t even look our way. Bathrooms closed in half the place. SKIPIT.

Unfortunately I was asked to leave after about twenty minutes of being inside. I recently turned twenty one so I have a voided out colorado state I’d and a paper temporary license. All lagit. I got in not problem, got a drink no problem and not long after I was asked to present I’d again by some dude. Then I was informed that my form of id wasn’t acceptable and I must leave. Strange? I will be back because I enjoyed the few minutes inside but dammm wtf…

To me a country bar means fan favorite tunes, tons of dancing, friendly service, and good beer deals. Grizzly Rose did not satisfy any of these. My wife and I are pretty big country fans and we did not get into any of the music selections. Besides, the volume was so low it was easier to eavesdrop on peoples’ conversations than listen to the music. After a half-hour of this the dance lessons started and that meant no music for an hour. Nothing is a bigger buzzkill than hearing a lady spend an hour teaching a dance that should take 15 minutes. I’m not against dance lessons, but they should be FREE(not $ 3) and take maybe 30 minutes at most. The service was terrible and I felt like I was unwelcome… maybe because I didn’t pay for the dance lessons? Also… while they had a $ 1 beer deal on Tuesday all their drinks are served in tiny plastic cups. A $ 1 beer really translates into a $ 3 dollar pint. *Disclaimer* We left before the live music started, so perhaps it is much better after 8pm.

Had no idea what to expect. This place blew me away. Simply went on a Sunday night(sundays are all ages line dancing, «Denver’s biggest party») with my country music companion and her best friend to fill a void in my activity schedule while trying to show our friend the best of what Boulder/Denver has to offer. Why not the Grizzly Rose, they have country music and a mechanical? Wrong. It’s a lot more than country music. Arriving just before 7:00 pm, after each paying $ 5.00 at the door, we had the opportunity to take our first line dancing lesson(after the blow and suck shot), which happened to actually be a lot of fun. Take note that I am not a good dancer, have never formally danced in any form of organized dance, and was asked twice if there was something wrong with me by the instructor(She was super nice and I’m pretty sure she was just playing around), yet I still loved it. I was wet with sweat by the time it was over. Once the free lesson had ended, the live band began and the floor became a forum to display newly learned skills. Despite a 45ish minute walkthrough on the«love step?», my movements were not quite ideal for a packed dance floor. Everyone knew all sorts of different variations of the line dance, variations which I attempted to replicate, but just wasn’t quite there. A fair amount of stumbling into little kids and women with short shorts and cowboy boots. lessons for couples dances and line dances are offered on a near nightly bases — schedules are at the door and online. Games: After the spectacle of dance we found the games: ski ball, pool, mini-basketball hoop shooter, and punching bag. Had a reminiscent run at the ski ball for a few chances to win some beverages, food, or shirts, but it was tough. Next Stop: Mechanical Bull. The mechanical bull requires a $ 5.00 deposit for riders to ride and it doesn’t seem like a bad deal on there end, for I have yet to see a rider make it past a minute, myself included(although I did my friend). It was a lot of fun, the line was short, and you don’t have to do anything more than sign a waiver to ride(infact I didn’t even sign it — it was almost bizarre how much disregard they had for the bull riders). After a quick go I wanted to do it again with my newly obtained observational knowledge — ride with the bull, not against it, but chose to allocate the rest of my funds toward the food. Food: jalapeño poppers, chille verde fries, and a corn dog with additional«grizzly hot» hot sauce. The food was good for what it was and not all that expensive. It may be possible they don’t have fried food, but my experience tells me otherwise. The Music: To work off the 2k calories from the beer and fried goods, we hit the dance floor one last time, a final chance to put our teachings to work. Me and my country music partner ventured in while our friend watched in bewilderment from the sidelines. I was blown away by this band I have never heard of before. Not only had they been playing for hours, but they were really good. They played everything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Bruno Mars. Service and atmosphere: The service was great, as everyone was extremely nice and accommodating, and the atmosphere was extremely inviting, which was good because a lot of western type places I’ve been to don’t always come across as so open. Had a great time and will be back real soon.

This venue is gigantic when compared to similar venues I’ve been to. There is a large dancing area right in front of the stage that people were utilizing the entire night. Great country music always playing, and there’s not a bad place to stand in the entire area. You can see and hear the live music from just about anywhere. Drink prices and specials were good. If you’re planning to eat here however, I recommend eating before hand. Their selection for food is mediocre and the quality was not great.

Visited the Grizzly Rose on a Thursday(Ladies Night) and had an awesome time! There was a $ 5 cover fee, which wasn’t bad at all since all drafts and wells were free for ladies(WOOHOO!!). The place is huuuge! They also offer dance classes(single and couple). We arrived around 8:30pm and learned some steps from the few on the dance floor, but the real party started around 10:00pm! The music was on point, and best of all — LIVE! There’s nothing like dancing to a live band! The guys were super sweet too! They sang happy birthday to a few birthday girls and gave them their guitar picks. If we were a little more drunk, we probably would have tried the dueling bulls. But we’ll save that for another time because we will definitely be back!!!

I’m not a big fan of anything country — but I really liked this place. It seems like the Grizzly Rose has something for everyone, a large spacious area to two-step, an affordable concession stand and beer! It’s a little bit far from downtown Denver, so be sure to arrange for a DD. Parking isn’t ideal, but surely you’ll find some place to park. What was up with all of the line dancing? Especially for slow songs! Aside from that, it was a good experience.

Saw Turnpike Troubadours here last night. The place was packed but service at the bar was pretty quick and friendly. We drank coronas ALL night and our bill was only $ 45! The opening band was pretty damn awesome(chick plays a mean fiddle), although they should lose the shitty pop country covers and stick to originals and Steve Earl style shit. They played a little long(1.5 hours) but once the headliners came on at 10:30 the place was rockin’. I would definitely go back even if I didn’t specifically like the band.

Ladies and gentlemen, LOVED the Grizzly Rose! First of all, was visiting Denver for a few days with my girlfriends, and as a fan of country dance, got a chance to check it out. Ohhhhhh how I liked thee!(We don’t have places like this in NYC…) Second of all, loved dancing all sorts of steps and everyone was happy to teach the dances. Ppl inviting to dance were super sweet too. People, drinks, live music, all at a stellar 5!

I came on a Saturday night. It was a mixed crowd but mostly middle age couples. They had a live band which was nice. The drinks were reasonable $ 4.50 for a corona or a mixed middle shelf drink. I would have preferred less couple dances and more line dances. I have been to other country bars that had a few hip hop line dances in between which is always fun

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I got a really sketch vibe while dropping off a much younger family friend for 18+ night. So much so that when I got home, I changed, and drove back to chaperone. Once inside, I was a little relieved. It wasn’t a big crowd, and the patrons seemed non-threatening. Not wanting to cramp my friend’s style, I hopped out on the dance floor and joined for some line dancing. The band playing was quite talented! In between sets, they put on music and we did some more pop-line dancing like the wobble and cupid shuffle. I’d actually be open to going back and trying to learn some more dances. Plus they have a mechanical bull… bucket list!

Let me say this is an interesting experience that you probably should have if you live in Denver, or are passing through. We ventured out last night to meet some friends for Ladies Night; $ 5 cover charge and ladies drink free well and draft. What could go wrong? The service is by far the shining star here. Our server was friendly and efficient. She is a true gem. The security staff were vigilant and kind. Despite being in a somewhat questionable neighborhood around hundreds of people imbibing cheap liquor and recklessly bumping into one another, I felt relatively safe. This place explodes with young dancing bodies around 9:00 pm, so much so that you look around and all of a sudden, it’s elbows and … well, more elbows of young 20-somethings listening to the advice of their libations(«trust me … you can dance!»). This really isn’t our scene. We don’t enjoy country music, and we really don’t get line dancing, but it was great people watchin’. The dance floor is huge, and it fills up fast. The place is remarkably clean considering the amount of booze, sweat, and tears that pours out of its patrons. The bathrooms were kept up well. We didn’t eat the food; our friends did and said it was okay. It looked like very average bar food. But I don’t think people come here for the food, despite the fact that it feels like a meat market.

I’ve always enjoyed coming to the Grizzly Rose. I love line dancing and there’s always Southern gents that don’t mind teaching you. Boots are a must. I suggest wearing shorts if possible. It gets extremely hot in there especially when you’re dancing. The last time I was there, the electricity shut down. I was impressed by how the staff handled it. They imedately brought out flashlights, took control of the situation, and made sure there was no crazy stampedes for the door. I felt very safe and they helped their patrons make sure they had safe rides home.
