Sad to see all the poor reviews, but we have had their service plan for two years and I am very pleased. Richard is really smart and knows what he is doing. They have been the opposite of pushy and been extremely honest. Much better than our last company

Bought a groupon from these guys for a discounted servicing of my furnace. The tech arrived on time, seemed nice, and went right to work. I believe he checked all the standard things a company would about my furnace and was open to answering questions. So, why the 1 star rating? Three reasons: #1) Over-priced and Unknowing. The tech wasn’t able to identify the cause of a noise the blower would occasionally make when I described it, but since it wasn’t making the noise at the time, the issue was ignored. He said if it came back, he could replace the motor for around $ 800 bucks. A week after he left, the noise became so bad I replaced both the motor and blower wheel myself and discovered it was actually a bad blower wheel(the blower shaft was slipping and screeching against the blade assembly). The cost for the new motor was $ 130(eg, he going to make $ 670 bucks for a one-hour service job had I called him to help). The blower wheel was $ 110, and was the actual problem anyway. #2) Dishonest and pushy. The tech discovered the blower motor’s capacitor was reading outside the recommended range and therefore needed replacing. I told him I’m fine to replace it myself given it wasn’t urgent, but he said it’d be near impossible to find the correct replacement and for much cheaper than what he charged. I mentioned I could order it online, and he affirmed it’d still be difficult. When I pushed the issue, he exclaimed, «what – are you going to nickle-and-dime me on pricing???»… so I agreed. After he left, I looked up the capacitor online. It cost $ 12.79 and was easy to find. He charged an extra $ 87 dollars for a part that takes 3 minutes to replace and which I wanted to do on my own anyway. I don’t know anyone that would consider 750% markup to be nickle-and-diming! #3) Sordid speech While I was watching him work, my 18-month old son was sitting with me. During this time, the tech proceeded to share vulgar stories about the other guys he lived with. Not cool, especially with a child present. Conclusion: These guys are not looking out for your best interest.

They cold called the elderly mother of a friend of mine and performed a filter change service for her. Upon inspection they informed her that she could not use her furnace due to a high carbon monoxide level and would have to have her furnace replaced. They metered the furnace in fromt of her and told her the reading was 53 ppm. This was done without the removal of the inspection cover on the return air duct and with just a tertiary inspection. My friend called me and asked me to check it out for her since they live out of state. I worked as an HVAC technician for about 12 years and had experience with furnaces. I removed the covers and inspected the heat exchanger. There were no visual irregularities corrosion or cracks. I fired up the furnace noting the burner flames and checked for CO with a CO detector. Then I ran the furnace for fifteen minutes and inserted a CO detector into the return air plenum and it registered zero ppm. We called Xcel Energy and asked that they come and inspect the unit with a combustion gas analyzer and CO detector. The inspector arrived and checked the unit for CO emissions in and around the furnace and at a register. No CO detected. If using this business, I would get a second opinion for any repairs that they suggest. Be advised. I don’t believe that they are the kind of good neighbors that I want in my neighborhood.
