Established in 2013.

Goldie and Bob Salon is Denver’s urban boutique salon. Located in the RiNo District just north of downtown Denver, Goldie and Bob’s owner and lead stylist Liz Burns has over ten years experience cutting, coloring and styling men’s and women’s hair.

From Boulder to NYC to the RiNo District, Liz has made thousands of clients look and feel great!

Liz Burns is a seasoned stylist in the industry gathering inspiration from various places — from fashion to art, music to film, as well as street culture and nature. She is an industrious, detail-​oriented, giving stylist who loves to create, shape, and paint the ideal custom style for her clients. She gives great attention and works diligently to meet her clients’ needs. Her goal is not only to make people look good but to feel good as well.

Liz started her career in Boulder at the Parlour as a cutting educator. She also spent some time on the National Artistic Team for Modern Organic Products traveling the country doing platform work, fashion shows and photo shoots, which led her to New York. Liz worked at Soon Beauty Lab in Manhattan as a senior colorist and cutter. She and her husband moved back to Colorado in 2009, when Liz began working with some of her longest-​known colleagues at Twig Salon in Boulder.

Now comes her newest baby, G+B!

I love all of the ladies at Goldie & Bob! I have been getting my hair done there consistently for the last two years and have loved it every time. They listen to what I want and help me to find the best style for me when I don’t know. I just got bayalage highlights there and I love my hair. I would highly recommend seeing anyone there!

I could not be more pleased with the bolyage Sadie just performed on my hair! I’ve been trying to get this for the past 4 years, and I finally have exactly what I was looking for. She matched my ash blonde perfectly, and faded into blonde so naturally. And she thinned out my thick mane so that I actually have a cute ponytail again! SO THRILLED!!!

This place is the BEST!
I have been to Liz and Connie and they are both exceptional. They take time to listen to exactly what you want and also add suggestions that are top notch! Lauren has just started styling (but has been working with Liz for a while) I had my first experience with her yesterday and it was wonderful! Her spunky spirit and love for the art of hair is really great. You can not go wrong here.

Oh man, I cannot even put into words how awesome of an experience I’ve had at Goldie & Bob with Connie. I came to her with hair that was literally 3 – 4 different colors. I had saved this picture of a woman with this gorgeous shade of bluish-​grey hair, and told her I wanted this hair color so bad. The BIG PROBLEM: I had been dying my own hair fire engine red for 9 months, (big no no on my part), then I dyed over that with a darker red, then over that with a brown, then had magenta panels put in. Needless to say, my hair was in a rough place. I wanted this gray hair, but conceded that I may not be able to attain it without massive damage to my hair, and Connie really wanted to ensure the integrity of my hair, but Connie made it happen! Afterwards my hair was not falling out of my head or anything, even after bleaching it twice in one day. My hair turned out exactly how I had envisioned it and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Connie, she’s fabulous!

Connie is amazing! I had long hair for a very long time, but my previous stylist just kept cutting it the same way giving me the same boring style. I also had zero volume. I scheduled a cut with Connie and not only did she give me the cutest cut ever, but she taught me how to blowdry my hair and what products to use to give it some oomph. She was so helpful and kind. I will definitely go back!

Liz is a hair genius! I only get my hair done once a year because it is a bit expensive but Liz does it perfectly so that it grows out nicely and only needs it once a year! She did amazing layers and beautiful blonde highlights-​a perfect mix of all the inspiration pictures I showed her!

This is as good as it gets. After moving to Denver from NYC a year ago I have been moving from one salon to the next in hopes of finding someone who really knows what they’re doing and I finally found it at this salon. Connie colored my hair in something similar to the ombré look without it looking trendy. It looks more natural than that. And then we cut off almost five inches into a bob style, which is a great length for me but I haven’t had a stylist take the amount of time she did in order to make it lay right. It’s better than I imagined it would be and with thin frizzy hair like mine, she managed to make it look full and healthy. Frankly, she worked a miracle. I’m writing this review a week after the cut and I’m still impressed (and so are all my friends) with the transformation. Definitely committing to this salon.

The salon is a little gem in the TAXI district in RiNo. I booked with Connie based on other Unilocal reviews and absotutely love what she did with my waaaay overdue-​for-​a-​haircut hair. I had been going to the same stylist for many years and always had a good cut but it was always the (yawn) same cut. Connie picked up on the fairly vague ideas of what I wanted and translated it in to something new that’s spot on. She was good with suggesting baby steps in cutting off length and I can now wear my hair curly without looking like a frizzed out rocker. I would trust her with something more adventurous knowing how skilled she is with the scissors and what works for my hair. And, there’s wine.

Connie at Goldie & Bob Salon was amazing! I walked in with jet black hair over bright blue hair with the goal of going platinum blonde. An impossible feat for most colorists. Not Connie! She got me to a beautiful light blonde in one day! The gals at Goldie’s worked as a team to give me the best result and Connie was a joy to be around for the long day. Definitely recommending this cozy place! Awesome!

Simply couldn’t love this hair salon more! After a series of disastrous attempts at going strawberry blonde at multiple supposed «high-​end» hair salons all over Denver & with a horrific bob I was trying to grow out, I went to Goldie & Bob hoping that they’d be able to rescue my sad, ugly hair. I immediately loved the location of the salon in the RiNo District, was greeted so warmly by Liz (owner) & Lauren (Liz’s assistant/​apprentice), & was incredibly impressed with their extensive hair knowledge & attention to detail. Liz immediately knew what I was talking about, took the time to make sure that she fully understood what I wanted– even googling more photos of various strawberry blonde hues herself to make sure she totally got my vision for my hair. The results were amazing & 100% spot-​on the first time! Seriously, Liz is an absolute genius when it comes to cut & color & the best hairdresser I’ve ever had. Plus, she, Lauren, & the other hairdresser Connie are just an amazing group of women– so genuine, warm, friendly, & fun– that I so look forward to my appointments every six weeks! Give Goldie & Bob a try; I am so incredibly happy that I did. Once a #Goldiegirl, always a #Goldiegirl!

I live in New York and Connie was my stylist for years. I completely trust her with my hair and whatever ideas she has had over the time I went to her in New York. Plus, she is so nice and fun she is great to be around! When she moved to Denver I was so sad to lose her. I have recommended her to several Denver-​based friends who have started to go to her and like me, absolutely love her! Luckily my work brings me to Denver often enough that I plan to keep seeing her at Goldie & Bob whenever I can! I am completely smitten with my new haircut! This will definitely be my regular hair salon from now on – Connie did an amazing job! I immediately knew I could just trust my hair in her hands. I came in with a vague idea & a little nervous — and she was able to create an amazing new style that somehow matches my personality completely. I went in for highlights and was quite impressed. The salon itself has a very cool vibe, and Liz and Lauren were as accommodating as can be. I went to this salon because I was looking for a new stylist. Someone that really «got» my hair. I came to this salon because some of my friends had and I loved their hair. Liz is amazing. She understood what I wanted and really paid attention. She gave me exactly what I asked for. Liz and Lauren made me feel very comfortable. It’s been three days since the cut and every day I notice something new that I love about the haircut. I can’t stress enough how much I LOVE my hair now. I so thoroughly enjoyed my experience that I’m not going anywhere else to get my hair done.

I reluctantly, with eyes closed, hit the schedule appointment on their website. In the note section, I described my fear, trepidation of getting yet another stylist that was going to give me a style/​cut that I would have to live with, head down for six months. (Stylist for Julia Roberts, two salons repeatedly, thinking they would get it in C.Ck., upscale salon in L.A.) Need I say more!!! I have searched!!!
Liz and her assistant Lauren were beyond my expectations!!! They listened and Liz interpreted my description of what I wanted, patiently, and I could tell Liz was actually processing information. After an amazing shampoo with neck massage, Liz combed out my hair and in a soft voice whispered, I need to get to know the feel of your hair.
I was silent. Then, the cut. Then the blowout. The cut, style, shape was everything I had been describing for years to no avail and she totally got it. Then she offered free trimming of bangs, etc. between appointments. Just call. I’m tossing the scissors I bought to repair the dismal previous cuts and will happily put my tresses in the hands of this amazing professional. Liz is THE DENVER STYLIST!
Liz will care for you and your tresses as if she were going to wear them. For Liz, it is personal. Rare to find in a stylist. Personable, fun, friendly, professional and takes the time to know your hair. Her assistant is one of the best I have ever experienced!

Well, wow!!!
Very rarely do I step outside of my regular salon in NYC. The problem is, I have to wait for time to pass until we go back there. That’s what I’ve been doing since July, but after taking my son to get his haircut (a great kid’s cut, with a sophisticated adult feel to it, versus a kiddie feel), I thought since I was there and loved the space and how Liz was with my squirmy three year old, I’d give it a shot. I didn’t want the typical «mom» cut that I’ve received all over Denver (ahhh, my worst nightmare)! I wanted something that would fit the fact that I’m all ovr the place, between working out and having to be professional. So, after waiting for almost 9 months, yes, 9 months, I stepped in with long, lifeless hair. Liz just looked at it, interpreted my non-​articulate description of what I wanted. She went to down and it’s honestly one of the top three best hair cuts I’ve had.
I love, love, love the space. It’s tucked away, fresh, chic (yes, overused as a description, but that’s what it is) and she’s great to have as a person working on your hair – low key, friendly, focused and intuitive.
After the cut, I was stopped by a stranger on the elevator asking what hot iron (or something) I use on my hair, because it’s perfectly shaped. I told her I use nothing, I just went to Goldie & Bob!
So, give it a try and I know you’ll be very, very, very happy!

I absolutely love Liz! Coming from Chicago, I was used to finding talented hair stylists fairly easily. In Colorado it is so difficult! I travel from Boulder to Denver to see Liz and it’s worth every minute! She knows color and style and is a true artist. She always cuts my hair in a way that flatters my face and I always get compliments immediately from friends and family. Liz left Colorado for several years and worked in New York. If I could, I would have flown there to get my hair cut by her. When she finally came back I actually got teary eyed that my hair stylist was back and my search was over! And she is now even more talented after the experience she got there! If you are looking for a serious, talented hair stylist, look no more! Whether you want something funky, or a conservative look that suites you, I am confident that Liz is your girl!
