Giovanni’s Pizza & Pasta

Earlier this evening we ordered takeout for two pizzas and an antipasto (40+ dollars). Went there and picked it up– the prices at their Mooresville location are more reasonable — then when we got home the $ 10 antipasto was nothing more than cheap lettuce, a few olives and two pepperoncini. No cheese, no meat, no roasted peppers. So we called them and after being grilled about the order number, the time (they were not busy at all) and other things that had nothing to do with anything, they offered us a measly $ 4 credit that had to be used for a small salad. I don’t think I will go back to either venue now. That is not even worth our gas. as a family we feel that getting something takeout is a big deal and is not something we can usually afford so when we order out, it is for something special. I did file a complaint but from the way management was giggling in the background while the girl on the phone was interrogating us, I doubt it will get anywhere.

Walked up to the counter to get a couple slices when I noticed the woman behind the counter rubbing her eye. She asked me if she could help and by that time I was hesitant. I went ahead and told her unwanted 2 slices and at that moment she started rubbing her nose! YUK! I immediately turned around and walked out. I know this probably happens all the time behind the scenes but your sure don’t expect to walk into a place and have someone rubbing their nose and then grabbing your slice!

What Italian resturaunt does not give a soup or salad with a dinner to go? Also no sesame seeds for the pizza crust ??? Come on this place needs some competition !!! A dinner is always served with soup or salad and bread or knots. Come on stop the apologies step it up??? No you do not give soup an salad with your to go orders!!!

My wife and I had dinner there on Nov. 20, 2015. When we arrived, the owner, (I think it was the owner) apologized in advance for the slowness of the kitchen; and thanked us, in advance, for our patience. I appreciated his honesty. We ordered calamari and a bottle of Mondavi Shiraz, to keep us busy while we waited for the slow kitchen. The waitress brought out a bottle of Yellowtail, which had already been un-​corked. I had her take it back. I then ordered a Robert Mondavi merlot. Again, the bottle had already been un-​corked, and it was not Robert Mondavi; but it was Woodbridge, which is a REALLY cheap version of Mondavi. I am more than a little suspicious as to why the wine is not opened at the table!!!
The calamari, by the way, was terribly overdone and was like trying to chew erasers.
When we finally received our meals; my wife ordered a pasta trio, and I ordered a tour of Italy; my wife’s dinner arrived hot; mine was barely warm. I sent mine back to be re-​heated. When I received the micro-​waved plate, it was nothing but a big melted cheesy conglomeration!
The meal was not terribly cheap, either – $ 51.00 plus tip.
This place has a lot to learn, if they want to attract repeat customers who appreciate good Italian food. Perhaps their pizza is good, but I would be very, very reluctant to return.

We have come here before a couple times but not for the same sit down occasion as tonight. We came as a big party to break our Yom Kippur fasts. I am far more than pleased with this restaurant! I would have to say it’s the best in town! The staff is fantastic and ready to help you with anything. The décor is very clean and trendy. The food. Oh my. Amazing! I had the pasta combo which came with lasagna, manicotti, and stuffed shells. The look of it alone was enough to make me drool. It was out of this world. The sauce was the best I have had and the cheese was perfectly melty. The commercial quality kind *wink*. It was so good that even though I was super hungry, I purposefully didn’t eat the lasagna so I could take it home. I fulfilled my hunger by finishing off the night with dessert. Holy cannoli! Quite literally haha. They make an out of this world cannoli! Also, their tiramisu is the best I have had personally. Perfect. The general manager is SO attentive and amazing. So hospitable. He definitely knows what he is doing and is such a great person. I don’t just recommend that you try them out. I am TELLING you to run, don’t walk, and go eat there! You won’t regret it!

awsome service from your waitress cheree she was nice and very cheerfull to me and my friend. And the food was on point as always five stars to my favorite pizza place and five stars for that waitress.

Amazing food! Leo catered our wedding and we had so many compliments on the food. They were easy to work with and dealt with all the back and forth between me and my husband. Definitely recommend them 100%. The leftovers were even amazing :) Thanks again Leo!

Got the car fixed. Back on the road heading to next appointment. Wanted something to Nosh on. Stopped by at Giovanni’s Pizza and Pasta just to get a slice to go. Talk about another sweet find up in North Mecklenburg for pizza like the ones they make in NYC. Outside this place looks so small and once you walk in it feels like a pizza parlor. Never the less to the right is an entrance to a pretty restaurant. Will have to come back for dinner and dessert. Ciao!

I love the shrimp scampi, eggplant parmigiana! Great service too!

We get pizza here nearly every Friday. Get crust, and super tasty sauce. Calzones and chicken wings are just as great.

We went for early dinner. Quick and courteous service. It’s New York style crust. Good pizza. We ordered the «Bronx Bomber» with like 50 slices. It was an experience. They even let my kids watch them make the pizza, which won’t fit on a counter. The oversized pizza oven is the only one in the world that fits this gigantic pie!

We ordered a pizza for delivery tonight. The pizza was still hot on arrival, even though the man delivering had to track us down when he got here. We weren’t expecting the delivery to be so quick! I thank him for doing that!
The pizza itself was really good, although the dough was a tad undercooked. We ordered half with mostly vegetables and half with mostly meat so that may have had something to do with it.
Give Giovanni’s a try! I’ll try the pasta next time.

We recently moved to the area and have found this to be our favorite pizza place so far.

Was a four star 1 – 2 years ago. I think they had some turnover because I always see different pie makers and there’s a distinct inconsistency with the taste. Too much toppings, not enough, too thick, too thin.
With that said, it’s the best pizza in town, but then again there’s not much to choose from. Get a thin, well done and you’ll be fine.
Unfortunately, in the pizza world (or any restaurant for that matter), consistency is the key to repeat customers. I think this premise hold the most value with the local pizza place however. Those pizza snobs out there, you know what I’m talking about.
I think there’s a guy named Tony that might work there… he makes the best pie.

ck and will not recommend it to my worse enemy.

Recently tried them and came away uninterested to go back. The pizza was mediocre at best. An OK crust, but the sauce was straight out of a 5 gallon bucket off the back of a Sysco truck. Small mom-​and-​pop type places need to rise above the franchise places by making their pie stand out. Instead, this was not one bit better (and arguably lesser) than the Domino’s we ordered a week before (for $ 5 less-​same size!)
As it stands today — go with Brooklyn Bros. instead. They seem more invested in and inspired by what they do. Or save $ 5 and go with Domino’s, which was actually a pretty decent pizza!

Stopped in to Giovanni’s Pizza & Pasta this evening (Sunday), I have ordered here many times, and was surprised that there was no Unilocal info on them, so I will be the first.
I would say the majority of the business is Takeout or Delivery, and they are busy during the week during lunchtime.
Tonight I ordered the Pasta Combo (Lasagna, Stuffed Shell, & Manicotti) it comes with House Salad and 3 Garlic knots.
It was OK, but I think I will be sticking with the Pizza and Family size Calzone or Stromboli.
They do serve wine and beer here, and have a plasma TV on the wall showing sports programming.

Never had delivery but carry out pizza and dine in pasta has always been great. Menu is a little limited but good.
