Giant Burger used to be amazing, but since Taqueria Los Gallitos took over the quality has gone way down. I used to get the Pastrami Burger, and decided to give it a try under the new ownership. They put thick square cuts of cheap ham on top of my burger, I couldn’t eat it. The quality has gone way down, sad.

This place, by the way, is now Taqueria Los Gallitos. This may be authentic Mexican food, but it isn’t particularly good authentic Mexican food. The meat on the tacos, for instance. We tried 6 different tacos, and the meat on all of them had been pre-diced into tiny, tiny little cubes, which had then been allowed to sit out and dry. None of the meats had much of any flavor(couldn’t tell them apart), and some had none at all, and they were all dry. The salsas from the salsa bar were tasty, and added some flavor. But no lime! I’ve never had street tacos that didn’t come with lime wedges. And these tacos definitely would have benefited from a little bright acidity. The tacos were plated nicely, with a roasted jalapeño and a roasted cipollini-type onion. The smothered burrito wasn’t good. It was made using a thick, big, heavy flour tortilla that dominated the dish. There was an average amount of meat inside. The meat was very greasy. Sweetie, my carnivore, who will eat meat like a caveman, didn’t find that meat tasty at all. Made both of us queasy. This place is a dive, and not in a good sense. The interior is fairly old, dirty, unkempt, etc. Made us wonder what the kitchen was like. The places also serves burger and fries(from its previous Giant Burger iteration).

This place should not make burgers anymore. They obviously should specialize in mexican food and stick to it. The burgers were horrible and had a fishy taste to them. Maybe they cook them on the same stove as the fish.

Let me premise my review with this. I was and am still faithful to the previous owners who had excellent and unique burgers and gyros. It’s not much of what it was. From distracted service to a soggy burger. I’m pretty disappointed. Time to find a new place.

Looks like they’re changing their name, but in the mean time, they really need to focus on cleaning up the place and redesigning the seating area. Since we wanted a burger and have never tried this place before, we decided to give it a try. The menu took me by surprise as I just expected burger items and instead saw many Mexican dishes, but I wanted a burger and a giant one. Well, what it turned out to be is a thin mashed patty in between a huge bun slathered with onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The meat was non-existent so I discarded one of my buns and made a «burgaco». A burger taco instead. I opted for chili fries instead of plain and the green chile tasted more like a chile soup rather than a traditional green chile. I really wanted just to have a cup of soup and crackers instead of swimming chile fries. For $ 20, it wasn’t that great. As for the inside, it is dirty and nasty, but not the dive type of dirty, ya know what I mean? It’s gross. We won’t be back unless they really clean the place up and do something about that giant burger. A giant burger shouldn’t just be a giant bun, it should include at least a good side burger patty inside.

absolutely disgusts me that this place is even open, where is the health department!?! me my husband & my son went in for dinner tonight, as soon as we walked in music so loud we couldn’t hear the girl take our order. when I looked at salsa bar my stomach turned, wish I would have seen the bacteria pit before we ordered. after waiting 20 minutes for our food I was once again disappointed. the patty wasn’t even half the size of the stale bun it was served on. none of our orders were right &when we complained we were told no refunds… for there mistake. wtf?. a starving dog wouldn’t eat this crap. can’t wait to see this place shut down &a decent burger joint back. witch by the cleanliness I seen tonight it won’t be long. save yourself food poisoning… keep driving.

Ok so they’re under new ownership by a different family and they’re changing their name to Taqueria Los Gallitos but it looks like they’re keeping the old menu and adding a very vast taqueria type of menu. There’s nothing remarkable about the patties, smashed very thin and fried on a cooktop, nicely seasoned but practically fall apart were it not for the cheese holding them together. The fries are your typical skinny fries, nothing to write home about. I tried their tacos al pastor this week just to change it up a little, served with a fried green onion and jalapeño, the meat was sort of dry, not the sort of thing a taqueria wants to be known for imho. They now have a small salad bar full of various salsas and garnishings so you can change the flavor of just about anything on the menu if that’s your thing. I usually go here for lunch because it’s near work, sure there are other joints out there but this place wins for me because the staff is super friendly, quick and at least they keep the place clean.

the place is kinda scary looking, but when you try the food, all that worry subsides and you can only think of how good the food is. LOL The service leaves something to be desired, but all in all the place is good.

6″ Burger, fries and a drink for $ 5.50…what you see is what you get… I ordered a double with bacon no cheese and paid $ 7.25. The burger made to order and the way I wanted it, really good and really tasty and for the price no chain can match it! No seasoning on the burger which is handmade and no salt on the fries which for someone like me which is on a low sodium diet, I figured it at about 500−600mg for the whole meal which is unheard of in fast food… The salt would’ve been in the bacon(2 slices at about 150−200mg), mustard(25−50mg) and the bun(200−250mg) the experience was normal though the owner came out to see what I thought of his burger, restrooms were clean… I’ll be back… this is the kinda place that should be on diners, drive ins and dives because this is a dive but a really good one for the value…

The food was great, but they were just burgers. Aside from getting my order wrong, it was juicy and made the way I asked. There were kids running around with bare feet, which was kind of a downer when it comes to safety and hygiene. Other than that, I’ll likely hit this place up again.

I come here for lunch some time. I have to admit, it is a pretty big burger. I just wish the patty was a little thicker. I would definitely suggest two patties or bacon. The deals they have there are pretty awesome. It’s about 5 bucks for a burger, fries and a drink. They have a good amount of items, and they definitely don’t stiff on the amount of food. The place is a pretty laid back. Small, family owned, but I would go back for what you get. I wouldn’t say it’s the best burger in town, but I would say it’s still a pretty big one. It lives up to it’s name.

While trolling for some lunch near my office, I came across this diner sitting in the middle of a desolate parking lot. The neon, painted window signs caught my eye: Giant Burger, Fries, Drink for $ 5.25! Hand Spun Shakes Gyros I decided to check it out. The inside of this joint is nothing to write home about. It’s filled with cheap booths and tables. The in-house stereo system is a boom box on the counter. However, I do love the life-size cardboard cut-out of John Wayne stuffed by the ice cream case. Talk about total randomness! For food, I ordered the giant cheeseburger combo(comes with fries and drink), a side of onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Yes, I’m a frickin’ glutton. The burger was 6 inches in diameter and actually filled the bun to the edges. To me, that definitely can be considered«giant». The patty is handmade and of medium juicy-ness. A tad bland, but nothing condiments can’t cure. It comes with a layer of chopped onions and lettuce and some pickles. The fries are typical frozen fried which means they were just«meh». I doubt the onion rings are hand battered, but I thought they were pretty tasty. Both the fries and onion rings come with no seasoning. It’s up to you to salt and/or pepper to taste. I actually prefer this since I’m not a big fan of salt. The shake was okay. It’s something you can get at any fast food chain. Overall, the food here was decent and definitely priced right for the poor college student like me. I’ll be sure to check out their green chile fries and gyros the next time I’m in.
