Fleur Bistro

Really a 4.5, but i’m going to five because of the weird low reviews.
Maybe the brunch isn’t the greatest, but when we came here for dinner we were extremely pleased! It was a bit later and there were only a few other tables, but the interior is very charming, with wonderful lighting.
We shared the mixed greens salad with poached pears and goat cheese. It was fantastic! They split the plate for us with no extra charge and it was genuinely a big portion for each of us. This is definitely an entrée salad if one person was ordering it. The dressing was great!
I had the pork with kind of a goat cheese crust, and it was soooooo good. The cheese was perfectly warmed and really went well with tenderloin that wasn’t overly cooked so it was very juicy. My boyfriend had the quail and the only thing I didn’t like were all the tiny bones, but that’s to be expected from an entire tiny bird. The seasoning was perfect on both dishes.
I recommend trying this restaurant out despite the bad reviews. I had a really lovely time and genuinely enjoyed everything we tried.

I would be embarrassed to serve the food here. It’s so unfortunate that the food was SO BAD, because it is just the cutest place ever. A+ for décor and atmosphere! I had really high hopes that it might be my new favorite brunch nook.
Our server was so friendly and attentive. He made sure that we never saw the bottom of our bottomless mimosas! We were having a great time until the food arrived.
I got the veggie benedict and I don’t even really know what to say about it… They served better food in my middle school cafeteria. The best part of the meal was the potatoes on the side and they were bland, soaked in grease and bore zero resemblance to the potato they once supposedly were. The eggs, oh my lord, the eggs… so, so gross. They were lukewarm and greasy (which is really not ok for a poached egg) and the bread they were served on quickly turned into a gooey-​bread-​glob as soon as the yolk touched it. If you’re making a benedict and the consistency of the egg is going to be, by definition, runny… maybe you toast the bread? Just a thought.
One friend had an omelet and the other had huevos and I don’t think anyone ate more than a few bites… We even got a cinnamon roll to share and IT was bad. Clearly had just been dumped out of a grocery store package onto a plate.
I think this place will be able to stay afloat for a while just based on location, bottomless mimosas and cute factor… but I would be shocked if they have ANY return customers that actually eat the food more than once. I will never go back/

I had a lovely time when I came to Fleur. It was a lovely summer late-​morning on the patio with my family and everyone was laughing and talking and having a grand old time. But my lovely time was more based on the company and the setting, rather than the food and/​or service.
My veggie benedict was quite good, though I’ve had better. But the potatoes? They were petrified. They looked like the rocks you put in the bottom of the fish tank. They made clinky noises when they shot like missiles across the table because they were either too hard, or the fork was too dull. Everyone at the table was pretty underwhelmed with their order: traditional eggs benedict, veggie wrap, and the bistro special. The only remarkable item was the cinnamon roll.
Service was slow, which I didn’t mind, considering the company I was in. More than that though, the service staff seemed very meek and mild. I tried to be friendly and compliment the brightly colored straws that came in our water cups that seemed to match our outfits, and just didn’t receive much personality in return.
After I left, I wondered to myself if I would give it a shot on another day. The conclusion I came to was no, no I would not. The setting is fabulous, but most everything else is «Meh.»

The first thing you’ll noticed about this place is the number of signs out front. As you approach the restaurant, you’ll be greeted with a giant ‘ice cream’ sign (I guess the place doubles as an ice cream parlor), followed by Fleur Bistro and another real estate office sign that’s equally as big right beside it.
But aside from the result of a very obviously chopped-​up residential building, the place itself has to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve dined in for brunch. You have intricate molding up the wazoo, extra-​extra large windows for natural light, and plenty of seating for a Sunday morning crowd.
The food was tasty and our waiter was awesome. The main gripe I have is the price — ordering anything more than your normal entrée will get the price up there quickly. Knocking down the price a couple of notches would alleviate this, but I’m sure I’ll end up back here anyway, if not to just to enjoy that damn beautiful building.

This place had so much potential for me but came up short. We had a party of 8, 6 had been seated for about 15 minutes before I arrived. Service was So. Slow. Like, we waited for 45 minutes for our food after we ordered, after waiting for a server to take our order for 10+ minutes after I arrived. It was really frustrating when we saw other tables come after us, order, eat and leave before we’d even gotten our food.
When our food did come, it was just alright. 2 in our group had ordered veggie omlettes… but were served omlettes with bacon in it. We expected that if we waited so long for our food, it would be SPECTACULAR! Unfortunately, it was a smaller portion and pretty average.
If you have a lot of extra time to spare for brunch, this might be an okay place for you. The space itself is super cute and they played hip, indie music that I really did love and it’s in a super cute neighborhood so I kept HOPING that our experience would turn around. Unfortunately, not. Given the number of other brunch spots in Denver, I probably won’t be returning to Fleur.

Thought it was great! Had purchased a coupon (Groupon or one of those sites) and went for brunch. Enjoyed the bottomless mimosas with their biscuits and gravy on their very cute patio. The portions are not huge and we split a cinnamon roll to start (delicious!!!).
Great place for just a casual brunch. We were seated quickly and it really never got too incredibly crowded.
Recommend and would definitely go back!

I made a reservation for lunch because I wanted to dine at Fleur with a friend who used to live next door when it was a flower shop, and I used to be involved with a French restaurant called Le Fleur. So, it seemed like a place we had to go together. However, we were one of two tables. Which was great for us, but a little disappointing because this place should be packed.
I had the French Onion Soup and the Gourmet BLT. Wow. The soup was perfect, but that sandwich was amazing. I couldn’t fit it in my mouth, and it was the most bacon I’d ever seen on a plate. I was also very fond of the balsamic dressing for my side salad. It was a lot better quality than most lunch spots would offer.
We shared chocolate pie for dessert, and it was amazing. Highly suggest to fellow chocloholics.
The service was great. The woman helping us was very attentive and friendly. Their happy hour menu looks awesome, as so does brunch. I’ll definitely be back. I was very impressed.

Check out my fancy pants. Seems like the attitude of most peeps at this establishment. Still, it’s a solid place depending on what you are in the mood for and how much you want to spend.
First, the food is very good and unique. The berry salad was awesome as was the BLT. Totally unlike any I have had before… it’s got bacon so it’s GOT to be good :-) I like that most stuff served here is fresh… not in the «don’t get fresh with me» kind of way. Rather, the greens and fruits are all tasty.
There is a decent drink selection though I would recommend coming for Happy Hour rather than any other time as the drinks seem pricey for Cap Hill. Still, I had me not one, not two but THREE martinis at lunch and the bill was still under $ 40 (for two people).
The patio is great if you don’t mind the traffic zooming past you on Logan. The inner space is quaint all be it far too white. I shouldn’t have to wear my sunglasses inside because of the bright paint job. Also, I always feel like I’m walking into a fancy «we sell only crystal» store so I never want to touch anything. It’s nice that this establishment is unlike any other in the neighborhood.
I’ve read complaints about the slow service which I agree is an issue. But on my last visit our server was apologetic about the wait because she was the only server working at the time. In the middle of the day for a long lunch it’s no big deal but at nighttime there should be better coverage. If the staff makes amends and apologizes then it’s all good in my book. If you’re in the mood for a long meal like they did in the olden days then this is a cool place to hang out. Don’t come if you’re in a rush.
Overall I think this is a nice place to come because it’s unique, its in the hood and you can get some booze :-) Perhaps a good date spot for some intimate conversation. But like most dates when the idea is to impress, be ready to spend spend spend. I say do a long lunch and chill on the patio… you can’t go wrong.

Food came out cold, one waitress for 10 tables, waited forever for service. The owner is a douchebag, he showed up for a few minutes to «help out» by pouring some water and then left.
We won’t be back. Very disappointing

Went for brunch on Sunday and this was a great location walking distance from cap hill.
My Veggie sandwich was pretty good for what it was. I’m not a vegetarian so often times I find that veggie meals don’t quite hit the spot. My girlfriend’s salmon benedict was a bit too salty for both our tastes, but still good.
While the food was not the highlight but it was of reasonable value and certainly didn’t hurt. The reason I would come back is that the patio and tables near the window are a great place to share a meal. Seems like a popular spot with the young and hip, but worked just fine for me too.

When I arrived it was past 2pm in the afternoon and I and the other person in my party was in the mood for some lunch. To my confusion the waitress REFUSED to serve us lunch and told us we could order off the breakfast menu. While breakfast hours have long since past, we reluctantly ordered, The food was cold, hard, tasteless and dry, plus they served the «sausage» in a weird flat square shape. When asking the waitress whats good, she herself said the food here is kinda dry, that should have been our first clue to leave.

I gave Fleur Bistro a couple of tries before writing this review — once for brunch and once for happy hour/​dinner. Honestly, my overall impression of Fleur is … meh.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was tasty and the atmosphere decent. But Unilocal puts it best when they put «A-​OK» next to a three star rating. It was just that — OK.
I wasn’t all that impressed with the Happy Hour offerings or specials (and let’s be real — you’re not going to get a high rating from this broke chick unless you have a wicked HH), and don’t really feel the urge to go back anytime soon.
Disclaimer: I might change my mind once I move into the Cap Hill neighborhood in a couple of weeks and Fleur becomes ridiculously convenient. But I doubt it.

What a cute lil’ spot. The service was great but seriously lacked in any gluten free options. You will be limited, so expect nothing from Fleur Bistro.
We got sat right away and other than the fact there was dirt, pepper, whatever the hell that was in both of our waters, the food is good. I had an egg white omelet and it was a European size, not the 3 egg (actually 5 egg) American size… very nice and great proportion. If you’re looking for a breakfast that will slow you down for the rest of the day, this place is not it.
All in all, great in price and service. I just didn’t care for the dirty glasses and lack of a diverse menu (GET GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS PEOPLE, DAMN)

I really have no idea how this place gets reviews higher than 2 stars. There’s so many bad things I can say about waiter this restaurant hired.
We came here on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t very packed. There was only one waiter. There were only four other tables there and it took about 10 minutes before we got our water. You might say that that’s picky, but then after we ordered, we waited about 30 minutes to get our appetizer. Honestly, I don’t even remember what I ordered since it wasn’t all that great.
Since there were so few tables, I could clearly see the waiter was struggling. At one table, a girl asked for water about three times and never ended up getting it. At another table, people wanted to order some desserts and when they asked the waiter what he would suggest, he literally said, «I haven’t had any of the desserts, but that ice cream one looked really good when it came out.» What?
During our meal, my husband even asked for another beer and never got it. So we decided to just get our bill. Of course, it took forever to get our bill. I only gave it two stars because I like their patio. It’s nice to sit out on Logan any time of the day. Other than that, nothing is really good about this place.
If the waiter was better or better trained, I maybe would’ve given it one more star, but he just gave me a really bad impression of this restaurant. I will never go there again.

My new favorite breakfast/​brunch place! Nice little patio; Indoors seemed nostalgic. Old school house conversion. Staff is super friendly! Food is awesome!
If you’re looking to gorge yourself out on greasy eggs, a stack of pancakes to the roof, and nasty bacon from 1962, go to IHOP. If you’re into great cooked food thats light, but rich, check out this place. It’s right in Cap Hill. Drinks looks well priced, but didn’t have any.
I don’t know who their chef is (or what their background is), but was HIGHLY impressed! Keep up the great work!

I was underwhelmed with Fleur Bistro. I was drawn in by their attractive patio, and the fact that their menu stated that they strive to serve organic/​fresh/​local ingredients when possible. When they brought Coffee Mate creamer to the table with my coffee instead of real milk or cream, I became a bit weary of that statement since Coffee Mate is about as far away from organic as you can possibly get.
I ordered the fruit parfait with granola. The yogurt had a strawberry flavoring to it that I’m pretty sure was artificially sweetened, and it had that distinctly sticky sweet high fructose corn syrup feel to it. My friend ordered the quiche du jour, which was okay, but definitely undercooked.
The staff are all REALLY nice and very attentive here — I’d say that was their number one selling point. Unfortunately though, with so many amazing breakfast/​brunch places in Denver, I don’t see any reason to go back to Fleur Bistro. :(

In no particular order here is a list of things that I enjoy about Fleur Bistro:
1. Free Wi-​Fi and they don’t mind if you hang out and take advantage of it even though this technically isn’t really a coffee shop.
2. Beet salads! I love these things. This one is made with red and gold beets, a balsamic reduction, cracked pepper and served with a crostini.
3. $ 12 bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys from 10 — 2 on the weekends.
4. Huevos con Chorizo for breakfast (homemade chorizo, 2 eggs, tortilla,
and a side of green chile)
5. A morning fruit parfait for 5 bucks.
6. The people working here have always been super sweet to me.
7. It’s never hard to get a table in my experience.
8. The building is beautiful.
9. Wednesday BBQs on the patio.
The servings here aren’t huge, but really we often get served more food than we need. I think what you get is reasonable for the price you pay at Fleur and it’s always been enough to make me full and happy. And so, with all those things I enjoy how could I not be a fan?

Since this place is only a couple buildings down from my abode, I wanted to try it several times before I wrote to be able to give a good, solid review. And after three trips (one light lunch, one happy hour and one brunch) I gotta say, I dig this place.
Fleur works hard to use local, organic ingredients in their food and I think they do a good job providing a small, sophisticated menu that both carnivores and vegetarians can appreciate. The food is always good, but it never feels overly pretentious.
They have a great happy hour: half price beer and a full menu of $ 3 HH items to nibble on. Also, in an effort to become more integrated with the neighborhood, they have a neighborhood grilling night every Wednesday. They pull out their grill and make a bunch of entrees for customers right of the grill.
I noticed a lot of the reviews had comments about the poor service, but I think they’ve solved most of those issues now that they’re finding their niche in the community. I had brunch with a table of seven today and our server was one top of things, pleasant and organized. He also brought us each separate checks with us even having to ask!
If you’re going to eat at Fleur, pick a nice afternoon or evening, because they have an unbelievable patio, with seats opportune for people watching (when I was there for happy hour, a couple actually moved a piano down the street).
I’m very excited to have this place on my street and I look forward to many more happy hours and brunches here in the future.

I love the building and Julio lready told you the history. I do remember going there when it was a flower shop. So quaint and lovely. Then it was a place to have parties maybe. Anyway i love the building and the idea of a restaurant right there.
Now to the food. it was very disappointing. There were three of us and we had 2 orders of the beef tacos, green beans, bacon mac and cheese and grilled fruit. I have to sy I thought it was tasteless. Certainly nothing special.
The night we went it was grill night. They do serve brunch with supposedly bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys. One friend enjoyed her meal and wants to try brunch. Hmmmm! I will not be joining her.
Service was great and to sit on the patio and have a drink that would be fine. Lots of folks from the Capitol I think go or did as it is so convenient for them.

I don’t know how restaurants do it. Opening and running a restaurant is probably one of the hardest things imaginable to me, so I have to give a lot of credit to restaurants that are trying even if they don’t quite have everything together. Fleur for example.
This place is so much of a stone’s throw from me that I could actually break their window if I wanted (I don’t). Who would want to damage a building so beautiful and unusual? The building had been a florist for decades (in fact, the rest of the block north of the building was once its greenhouses) and it was built in this wonderful mishmash style; kind of mission Victorian with its turret and Spanish-​style roof line. And the inside is flourished with these art nouveau style flower designs on the ceiling. The place is seriously an architectural gem. Which is why I was so glad to see the place revamped so nicely and turned into something cool like a bistro.
But I have a feeling they are struggling. I walk past the place often and usually only see a handful of customers if any at all. It’s a beautiful location, but also an odd one; tucked into a Capitol Hill corner. And because its not usually busy I can see why the service I had wasn’t great. Why have an extra server if you don’t think anyone’s going to show up? But indeed on this Saturday morning, the majority of the tables were filled with customers and the lone server had to juggle everything himself. He did an admirable if slow job.
The food was also pretty good and very reasonably priced for breakfast. I had the Benedict which had a pesto hollindaise that I thought was a delicious twist and the traditional Benny. On the side was a cup of fresh fruit which is definitely a nice and light change of pace. However, they used square-​cut pieces of toast instead of English muffins, so I had nothing to scoop up the little bits of hollindaise and yolk left over from the meal. May not seem like a big deal and it isn’t, but that is seriously one of my life’s little pleasures.
And they also play the strangest music. You’d think at a fancy-​looking place like Fleur, they would play jazz or maybe classical. Instead they play girl pop like Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera. I don’t know why either…
But Fleur has lots of potential and I definitely recommend it to anyone who lives in the area. It’s definitely one of those places that everyone likes to have in their neighborhood, so remember to actually go there and spend money. Because places don’t stay open on wishful thinking.
