History

Established in 2011.

Fairfax Wine & Spirits opened with Marczyk Fine Foods the summer of 2011. Located right on Colfax Ave, Fairfax Wine & Spirits and Marczyk’s provide an excellent 1-​stop shopping experience for local residents. Owner Pete Marczyk has a keen palate for well priced wines with a story to tell. Because 90% of people buy wine to drink that night, Fairfax specializes in bottles $ 15 and under. (We call it Tuesday night wines). Great service, free Friday night wine tastings, and open 7 days a week.

Pete Marczyk knows his wines! He is an expert in food and wine pairing, and is a frequent speaker at the American Wine Society tastings. «What grows together goes together» is a helpful hint for people wondering what to drink with dinner. Pete also hates rating wines. Why? «When you go to that little town in Italy, and enjoy thier local speciality, you’ll think it’s the best thing you ever had. When you come back to the states and see it only scored a 65, you start to doubt your own experience, and palate. Don’t ever doubt your own taste. If you love it, that’s all that matters and to hell with the rest.»
