Ethos Landscape & Design is a sustainable landscape design and build company that services Denver, Boulder and Longmont. We offer landscaping solutions that are responsibly suited for our special conditions in Colorado.

We believe that landscaping can change lives. Landscapes should provide families with food, beauty, nature, escape and regeneration. They shouldn’t require hours and hours of maintenance, large quantities of fertilizer and pesticides, or excessive amounts of water.

Ethos was founded in 2013 by Khalana Gocken formerly of Urban Earth Gardening Services, LLC. There are several reviews on their Yelp page that may be relevant to your needs.

History

Established in 2013.

Ethos was founded in 2013 as a way to specifically address the changing world that we live in. It was born from experience in a traditional landscaping company that offered a few sustainable options, but did not focus solely on sustainability. –We at Ethos knew that we had to focus, for all of our futures.

Meet the Business Owner

Khalana G.

Business Owner

Khalana grew up on Old McDonald’s Farm, where she learned first hand that hard work defines the person and their achievements. She was always the artistic one of the family, and saw things in a different way, which led her to photography.

After a few years in the photography world, she took a break and worked at a garden center for a spring. That was ’01, and she was hooked. The crazy spring energy and breadth of knowledge that she gained were addictive and led her to CSU to pursue a degree in Horticulture (with a concentration in science– think biochem-​Aack!). During school she was a sales rep for a bedding plant grower (fun!) and worked at a USDA seed lab on campus. When she started school she was convinced that she wanted a job working with plant germplasm in a lab, but shortly after finishing she realized that having her hands in the soil was where her passions lied. In ’09 she co-​founded Urban Earth Gardening Services, and in ’13 she left and founded Ethos Landscape & Design
