Ergo Aveda Salon & Spa

My dissatisfaction with my haircut is irrelevant compared to the salon TEXTING my cell phone to call me out on my previous review. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. I don’t care what was written on Unilocal; you do not use a customer’s personal information to contact them about a review of your service. Can you imagine if every business could badger their customers about bad reviews? It goes without saying — I will not be back.

This was my first visit. I’m one of those people that fear hair cuts because I have so much dang hair. I’ve had some pretty bad cuts. I did my research and decided to give it a try. I booked with Bianca, and she was very patient and understand of what my fears were and what I was looking for in my cut. I most definitely will go back and of course, Bianca is who is see. Thank you lady, my style is fabulous.

Moving 600 miles means finding lots of new personal service providers. It often takes a while to find someone you really like to do your hair. I randomly selected Ergo Aveda based on its Stapleton location. My initial consultation was with Eddie Romero. What a lucky break for me!
Eddies impressed me with his analysis skills — my hair, my face type, my skin, my lifestyle. What he thought would work for me and why. I’ve had two appointments with him now, and a third coming up.
My color match is excellent. The new cut Eddie suggested gets me lots of compliments. He is young, smart, creative, and fun — an up and comer! You’d be very smart to check him out!
Also, the salon is excellent in communicating with you regarding appointments and such. Parking is easy and the salon atmosphere is friendly and inviting.

Awful awful experience. I went in for a haircut and highlights/​balayage and my hair looks yellow and its streaky and has blond patches everywhere. My split ends are still awful. Was expecting it to be an amazing experience because I live Aveda but just horrible. Went with a friend and she had an awful experience as well, hairstylist treated her poorly didn’t want to help her with her questions or helping her pick out a product from the salon which is ironic since the salon makes money off selling products… Really disappointed. Now I have to get my hair cut again and fixed.

I have fallen love with Ergo salon, Aveda, the girls at the front desk (they’re all beautiful inside & out), and my newest love is the awesome adorable Kylie who styled my hair today! I’ve been needing this for a while, but just didn’t know who to trust. I’ve had some bad experiences and I’ve done worse myself. I was sure when I told Kylie to remove the dead & damaged hair, that she was going to have to shave my head bald! But it wasn’t as bad as I thought since I’ve been using Aveda. And Kylie fixed me! And my hair too of course! She gave me a style that I love, and that was just for starters! She used products that made my hair look and feel so healthy-​even after all the damage I’ve done! She’s also convinced me to come back so she can do a color– the real way, not out of a box, which is all I’ve ever used. She taught me things about my own hair that I didn’t even know and she even showed me how to blow dry my hair so I can get the same look at home myself! Kylie is not only knowledgeable and an expert at what she does, she’s gorgeous and has the most adorable personality! I gave her a huge hug when we were done and I left there knowing I have a new friend! And one who can help with bad hair days and make it all better! I can’t wait to go back next week!

Anna really listened to what I was looking for and delivered. I have never liked a haircut right after it was done– usually they have to grow on me– but I loved it from the start. Head massage was so relaxing. And while my hair was getting conditioned, she gave me a hand massage. She met the bottom line of a great cut and style. But was also enjoyable to talk to her. It has been over a week, and my hair is still silkier and stronger from the conditioning treatment.

I’ve got my hair cut and colored there and both of been good experiences. Eddie did my color and it came out perfect. He’s fast too!
The location is perfect for me as well. Prices for services are a little high but not as ridiculous as downtown hair salons for the same quality. This is my go to salon now!

I got my hair cut and colored here a few times by two different stylists. From what I’ve experienced from Aveda salons in the past I had much higher expectations than what I received. The haircuts were mediocre at best, not Super Cuts bad but not what I would expect for an Aveda salon. The color was decent.
My biggest complaint would be about customer service. I have stopped in three or four times (over the course of a few months) to try and buy a small size of the Dry Remedy shampoo (Aveda recently changed their formula and I didn’t want to buy a big bottle before trying it out). They didn’t have any of the small trial sizes. Each time I asked the person covering the desk if any would be coming in, and if I could leave my name for the manager to possibly call (because they always said they didn’t know if any would be coming in). I have never received a call or email. I don’t know if they either didn’t pass it on or if the manager didn’t care, but it’s frustrating. They’re the closest Aveda salon to me, and while I’ll no longer get my hair done I’ll still stop in for products. This experience makes me not want to go there though, and find an Aveda salon that’s willing to help.

I can’t say enough positive things about Stephanie who completed my facial (Groupon purchase). She was friendly, knowledgeable and THOROUGH! My face felt so good after the facial. The best part is that Stephanie took care of the extractions as a seasoned professional.
Will I be back? No doubt! In fact, I need to go book my appointment now!
P. S. Stephanie also can provide full body waxing. I didn’t have any of these services done, but I may try it in the near future and I’ll be sure to Unilocal about it!

I was really sorta kinda dissapointed with this salon. It was a very nice building and the salon was clean and professional, but I just did not feel welcome. I was not offered water, the staff was not friendly whatsoever and the stylist that actually trimmed my hair whipped through it so quick I’m not sure that it’s even straight. I felt like he was just «trying to get it done». First off when he washed my hair it was so sloppy and I know he didn’t get my roots all the way and the underside of my hair didn’t even get wet. Then he put conditioner all over my roots and did not rinse it all the way out. I was offended by the way he criticized my hair repeatedly and when he was done he put so much stinking product in my hair that it is still sticky the next day and it feels dirtier than it was when I went in, and I hadn’t washed my hair for four days. I can feel the gross product buildup in my hair and it gets on my hands and on my cellphone. Too pretentious for their own good, I am a paying customer willing to pay their prices and I should have been treated way better than I was. I even left a very undeserved tip. Just go somewhere else. Seriously.

Eddie is AMAZING! I’ve been meaning to leave this review for a couple weeks when I went to Ergo really nervous to try a new salon since moving here but knowing I love the Aveda brand, and ended up with Eddie as my stylist. Without any hesitation, he cut and colored exactly what I wanted and I was so impressed! Definitely at ease feeling like I have found a place and person I can trust with my hair!

I went in on a groupon for the first time, and took a chance… but I loved my haircut with Kylee C — she is friendly, fun, and a great stylist! She also really listened to what I wanted and was looking for.
Easy parking, shopping around the corner if you want to make an afternoon of it… I just booked another appointment with her (and was able to book it that weekend, which is great if you have a hectic schedule…) and I am looking forward to it!

My facial with Stephanie was awesome! She was super fun & obviously likes her job because it shows!
This was my first time at this salon and I would definitely be back for a facial. I cannot give feedback on hair services since I didn’t have that done.

Kylee cut and colored my hair. I must say, I get extremely anxious about new stylists touching my hair because of awful experiences in the past. The reviews on here for this salon weren’t encouraging, but I had purchased a Groupon before reading them. Kylee asked me pertinent questions to get a feel for what I wanted. She didn’t do anything without asking me first. She asked how I like to wear my hair… volume, straight, textured, etc. before styling it. I usually don’t like the way they style my hair after a color. It’s usually too flat even if they use a volumizing spray. Today my hair looks great! Not to mention the color is gorgeous! Aveda color is so rich and shiny without being super damaging. I get a warm chocolate brown + red all-​over color. Highly recommend Kylee, regardless of the other reviews on here! (The receptionist girl might be a bit grouchy and not welcoming, but that’s her problem… I did have to deduct one star for the receptionist’s attitude though.)

Shane is AMAZING!
My friend wanted to have a «spa date» so I agreed to have my eyebrows waxed for the first time. Shane made me feel very comfortable, took his time and was completely honest about his work and product preferences. I never had my eyebrows waxed before because frankly I thought I didn’t need it and did a great job myself, my brows are my thing! However, once Shane was done I noticed a huge difference.
Afterwards, I decided to have him repolish my gel nails. Overall, great experience. I will be back to see Shane and I’ve already recommended him to my mom.

I went here with a groupon and had decent service. As with most salons, I was talked into buying their products which I felt was comparable to the discount I received. The cut and color were satisfactory, but for being an Aveda Salon, I prob wouldn’t go back. Parts of the salon weren’t super clean.

I would LIKE to give this place more of a rating and. .. more of a try. Every time I call to make an appointment, the terribly unprofessional and unhelpful receptionist manages to thwart me.
«Can I get an appointment next week, say, Wed?» I ask.
«No, she replies, all booked.» Silence.
«Oooookay, what about Tuesday?»
«Sorry, so and so is not in Tuesday.» Silence.
«Fine, I will just call my old salon.»
«Ok.»

Three times now and can’t get past this inanimate object of a no-​help roadblock. Ugh! Whoever manages this place, you need to eliminate the barriers to even getting your customers in the door.

I had a similar situation to some of the other reviewers where I scheduled an appointment and they said if I was there in the next 15 minutes it would be fine to get my hair cut. I get there in 13 minutes and they could no longer take me unless I wanted to wait an hour… Very poor customer service…
I used ergo for a year when I moved here from 2012 to the end of 2013 and had 6 different stylists in that year most of them complaining they weren’t getting paid or something… I have since moved on but would not suggest this salon!

I left before even being seated due to two reasons. First, management and front desk service were very rude to someone on the phone and very unprofessional on the floor. Second, I scheduled my appointment last minute and after confirming twice before driving there Scott had scheduled me for the wrong time in their system. He tried to make it right but I still ended up waiting for more than 10 minutes while listening to the unprofessional management complain.
That’s when I left to find somewhere worth my money!

My wife and I redeemed a deal at Ergo for a massage and facial. .. being NOT the type to go these very feminine beauty spas, I was a bit apprehensive and nervous about how the tabloids will dish on my visit ;). The front of the shop is essentially a retail opportunity for Aveda to sell all their products, but before my wife could get too excited, we were quickly greeted by the host (is that the proper term!!!)…
My wife had a massage first and I had a facial first — and then we were going to flip-​flop. I have never had a facial before, so when the therapist (again, correct term?) asked what type I wanted — all I could reply was — «the facial kind for guys». .. I am not sure what other facials are like, but this was AMAZING. Imagine an hour long massage on your face — I was definitely out of it when we were done (in a great way) and I still had a massage. Being 6’6″, I was a bit concerned that my 5’0″ masseuse wouldn’t be able to handle me, but she worked me good!
Ergo, also does haircuts and all the other spa treatments, but this was all we experienced. The only reason I am giving 4 stars was the annoying hard sell on lotions and product after we were done. I am always fine with the, «hey, need any product» pitch, but this was a bit more intrusive and in-​your-​face.
In any case, I would highly recommend this spa and hope for another deal soon!
