Eighth Ave Conoco

As luck would have it my car broke down as I was heading down 8^th Ave and I was able to coast my car into their lot. Everyone at the shop was incredibly helpful. They helped me trouble shoot what was happening with my car until AAA showed up. I would highly recommend going here as everyone was very knowledgable and helpful.

These men are as honest as it gets! Not too mention, super affordable! Every time I take my vehicle here, they give me great quotes and repair my vehicle in a timely manner. I recommend 8^th Ave Conoco to anyone who mentions they are having car troubles. I would not take my vehicle any where else in Denver. I have gotten my oil changed at other places that completely lied to me about the levels in my car as well as took forever to finish an oil change which I think is ridiculous. I brought my vehicle here and in no time my oil was changed. I have also had them repair my breaks that I thought was going to cost a pretty penny. It ended up being super reasonable and I could not have been happier with the outcome. Places like Jiffy Lube, Firestone, or Grease Monkey might be a couple bucks cheaper, but nothing is better than honesty. I appreciate you all very much.

Great Shop! I had an oil change there and it took less than 30 mins. Their prices are extremely reasonable.

I needed new brakes on my Honda. Two friends suggested 8 th Avenue Conoco; a service station not a gas station. I met Dave the manager, told him my brakes problem, and he said he’d call within the hour with a diagnosis. After he gave me a ride back home…(top notch customer service right there) he drove my car, and called. I was figuring $ 600 plus, like «other» quotes I received, but it was ½ that price for parts, labor & taxes! Dave’s philosophy is to NOT take advantage of the customers, treat ALL customers alike and charge every person fairly. I was very impressed with the service, professionalism & price. People, if you need an honest mechanic & a great place to take your car, this is the place! Located at 8^th Avenue & Bel Air, a block or two behind Trader Joe’s on Colorado.

Dave has been taking care of my cars for over 20 years. I was recommended to come here from someone who had been taking their car here for years. He is honest and trustworthy!
He only suggests other repairs if he really really believes your car needs it. My car has over 185,000 miles on it, and I’m pretty sure that is because Dave and his crew, have kept it in tune all along. I highly recommend it!

After reading the Unilocal reviews, I decided to come here for my oil change. They were able to squeeze me in the day of, which was nice. It took about 40 minutes, which isn’t too bad.
But the oil change cost me $ 46 dollars! Oil changes cost about $ 30 at a Firestone. I don’t think I’ll come back here again.

These guys are awesome! I’ve brought my car here a few times for a few general repairs, one of which was not typical. They are good with cars and have the ingenuity to fix random things that fall off of your car, tires full of mud, etc. Prices are right as well.

Went over there after changing a tire, raining I am 65. I put on the spare, had a slow leak. Rushed over there thinking I could get some help… Ha… no way, twerp told me garage was closed. Old man, flat tire, spare going down, rain and a no, told the kid he had 15 minutes still no too late… had a cussing fit, tire going flat asked for air hose told me to say I was sorry, had too humiliate my self to get a little air to get home in the rain… I say stay away…

These guys are the best! My car was leaking oil all over the place, and fast, to where I was putting 2 – 3 quarts in every 2 – 3 days!!! I mean, it was bad. I was so scared that my engine was going to blow or that there was something so majorly wrong with it, that my car was going to require a new engine. At the very least, I figured it was going to need a very expensive part.
I’m a woman, and I know that most automotive repair shops see me as an easy target. I have no idea what to look for when my car is acting up. The oil leakage was so severe that I assumed it had to be the worst news. Well, guess what? It wasn’t. The guys at 8^th Avenue Conoco were super friendly and honest. Only a little over $ 100 later and my car was totally fixed! They were fast too. My car was done the same day I brought it in. They even fixed a power steering leak (I think that’s what it was) that was caused by the previous mechanics who worked on my car. At no additional charge!
These guys are awesome and seriously have the lowest prices in town! They are totally trustworthy. I will never take my car anywhere else again!

Have been with them for 20 years. Outstanding service and expertise. Will always fit you in as needed. Very moderate pricing.

This place is the best. I thought my brakes needed to be repaired. I took my car in and they called me an hour later and said that they were fine and that I didn’t need to spend any money to get them repaired. Honest and friendly.

I had a guest staying with me when my car wouldn’t start and a world where all of our marvelous plans flew out the window flashed before my eyes.
On AAA’s suggestion, I got my Saturn towed to this establishment and I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I got was quick, well executed service done by friendly folk! They were very pleasant over the phone and even better in person. It’s weird, but getting my car fixed was one of the highlights of the a very good day (perhaps because I was imagining that it could be so much worse).
Plus, they have a wacky vintage cash register.
Very glad to have a repair place I can trust for future issues with my Saturn.

Possibly the best mechanic in Colorado! I actually took my Jeep here, thinking that something might be wrong with the steering, and the head mechanic took it for a drive around the block, came back and told me nothing was wrong with it. They have never charged me for a consultation, and they are always honest. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

This place is the best. They’ve treated my whole family fairly, with a variety of normal and some strange car issues.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

My family and I have been going to Dave at 8^th Avenue Conoco for over 15 years. He’s a phenomenal mechanic, as well as a great person. His prices are beyond fair and his skills are top-​notch. I recently leased a new car, which came with free maintenance. This is somewhat regrettable, as I don’t get to visit Dave for oil changes and whatnot.
That being said, I’ll do my best to give him any possible business — new tires, etc. If you’re looking for a trustworthy expert mechanic, go to 8^th Avenue Conoco. You won’t be disappointed.

I found Dave and his crew via Unilocal,what a lucky find! My boyfriend had been having car trouble for a few weeks and was clearly getting the run around from the mechanic he was going to. After the total was up to $ 1000, I hoped on Unilocal and found Dave. Boyfriend took the car the next day. Dave drove around in the car with him waiting until the issues started to happen, after they did, he took the car back to the shop and investigated, walking boyfriend through every step. When he was done, he told him that the damage would set him back at least $ 3000 and it might not even fix all the issues (talk about honest!!). He didn’t charge boyfriend for any of the work AND let him keep his car at the shop til he found someone to buy it — he said up to a few MONTHS would be okay — no charge!
Weeks later we brought in the replacement car to get checked out by Dave. After a few routine issues were discovered, boyfriend left the car at the shop for the day and took a bus home. When the car was ready, Dave came and PICKED BOYFRIEND UP from our HOUSE and took him back to the shop to get the car.
We will NEVER use another mechanic again!

These guys are great, I’ve only had some routine maintenance done, including oil changes, check engine light, fix a flat, etc… However, they are always polite and fast, and hard working. Their prices for repair seem reasonable. They offer good advice on the things that go wrong with cars and what cars they as mechanics consider good and reliable.
I really think that they are honest mechanics. They treat their customers with respect and obviously want you to have a good experience, good results, and come back.

Saturday sucked. I drove from north Arvada into Denver to meet a friend and noticed my heater was not functioning real well. Stopped to get a coffee at Starbucks at Colfax and Krameria and stepped out of my car to be met by death fumes and steam pouring out from under my hood.
So awesome. Fast forward through a lot of story telling. My engine was overheating. I left my car in the parking lot of 8^th Ave Conoco and a lengthy voicemail on their machine. Closed Sunday, I had to wait until today for the prognosis.
Couldn’t find a leak. Drove it around, topped off my coolant, pressurized something, did a diagnostic check… it appears a lid had just popped loose and even though we’d filled it, it had still overheated because things weren’t just right (evidently it’s touchy?).
Dave isn’t charging me a dime for checking it out. There are good people out there, folks. Frequent their businesses. Make them thrive. These are the people that deserve it most.
UPDATE: Car did not fare well on the way home. Problem still exists. Sad. Dave is very nice, but he didn’t fix my car.

If you need an honest, fair priced, reliable, efficient and hospitable mechanic, Dave and his crew are for you! I mean really, who doesn’t need good help in this department? Well OK… maybe the «car-​free» among us. In MOST cases a good mechanic is like a good man, hard to find and there when you need them most!
I have been to 8^th Ave Conoco for… The stupid amount of flats I’ve had since moving into this construction filled neighborhood. Seriously with all the nails and screws laying around it’s been like 6 times. Also had my brakes done, done well and inexpensively. Had oil changes, very happy again. OMG what in the Sam Blazes is that sound??? Took it to Dave, problem solved! Trust me… you can trust him. He fills my tires for me regularly because I am totally phobic of exploding them in my own face, and he never seems to mind.
The vintage cash register and the whole old school vibe here is awesome too. I want my mechanic to be greasy and hard working, fair and helpful. Dave and his staff are these plus some!
