I have been coming here since the late 1990’s. I liked it back when it was a dirty dive bar, who doesn’t like dirty dive bars? Now its a bicycle bar, and while it seems cliché, my bike riding addiction has made this a worthwhile adventure also. As a bonus, I think that the bikes scare away the homeless, which is always a bonus.

Jerome likes this place. Peeps are friendly, make a man feel at home. Beer is cold, TV is always on. Food is– bar food, what you would expect. Looks a little run-down from the outside, but that’s alright– keeps snot-nosed cherry creek people outta there. Give it a shot, worth a stop.

Went for a friends birthday the other day. It’s a pretty cool joint with a long bar, an area for music and perhaps dancing in a room adjacent to the bar. On this particular night, they had a local stand up comedian. They also have a pretty decent back patio for nights(or days) when it’s nice out. Prices were reasonable, and they had a nice crowd on a Friday night. Since the bar’s so long, it’s fairly easy to get to the bar for drinks or cashing out and service is decent.

I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2 because a pretty waitress gave me a great smile just before she finished her shift drink and left. I was a giant fan of the 404, and hadn’t been back since the change over. We sat at our old bar seats, loaded up the jukebox, and had some drinks. It’s changed so very much. It’s clean. The staff is young and pretty. I don’t think there’s a t-bone steak club card anymore. There’s nothing wrong with the Wheel Club. It’s just a sterile version of a Denver classic, but without old-timers and characters you can’t wait to tell your friends about, it’s full of hipsters. Everything changes. At least we’ll have our memories.

Club 404 was a dirty hole in the wall dive bar for most of my life in Denver. But fear no more, it is now something much better(and cleaner) and more fun than its predecessor of the same location and similar name. The old Club 404 was gutted and remodeled by the folks behind the Denver Cruiser Ride, and their love of bicycles and good, reasonably priced drinks are very apparent(particularly if you know them personally). Bikes hang from the ceiling, the wait staff and bar tenders are awesome folks. The food is good, albeit standard bar fare. The real gem is when you stroll in around 7pm on a Wednesday. At that time, a group of fun loving, beer gulping cyclists unite for the weekly Denver Cruiser Ride. You can find them year round, though many, many more come for the famed summer rides. If you are looking for a solid dive bar with better than dive atmosphere, drop into the Wheel Club 404. It is a place with community, atmosphere, and good drinks to boot.

First off, this is my favorite Cruiser start-up bar! It’s big enough to host a big group, and pretty much everyone at the bar on a Wednesday evening is there for Cruisers(unlike some of the other start-up places) so that makes it even more fun. The service and food aren’t amazing but they definitely pass. There are bikes hanging from the ceiling and the bathrooms have Denver Cruiser lisence plates all over the wall. The only weird thing about this place is that the bathrooms have essentially curtains for privacy-which can make things confusing when people fail to keep them open when they’re done. And there’s only one sink, for both the women’s and the men’s bathroom, outside the bathrooms in a hallway near the kitchen. It’s kind of weird and if you’re trying to primp at all(which is necessary when you’re in costume sometimes) it’s annoying to both you and the others waiting in line.

We just moved in the area and this bar is right across the street, so we decided to try it out after work… GREAT place! The atmosphere is fun and the bartenders are so friendly and a little crazy! The food is really good too… Buffalo wings are very tasty… very tender! The burgers are nice and big and juicy. They have a great selection of local beer and it is very cold… definitely our favorite new place and we will be visiting frequently!!!

Came here in the afternoon for some day drinking and kind of immediately fell in love with the atmosphere of a «biker» bar, but not that kind of biker… The other kind of biker, but not the kind with spandex and gigantic calves. Decent beer selection and they have shuffleboard, which kicks ass. Haven’t tried the food, but I’d imagine given the setting its your standard bar fare. I love the rail around the patio for attaching your bike to, badass.

I went here for the first time for a bike event this week. I never knew that it was a dive bar because the place looks really modern and fun. They have an outdoor patio, huge game room, and a large bar area so there is something for everyone. Their beer selection seems to be lacking but hopefully it will improve in time. They also need more waitresses because this place looks like it’s going to be a hot spot all summer long and for good reason. It’s already one of my favorite spots to visit in LOBO. Plus, if you’re one of the thousands of bike enthusiasts in Denver, you’ll want to support this bar.

What a great change. A few years ago the boyfriend and I went to Club 404 to see a friend’s band play. It was one of those experiences where we both felt like showering when we left. Friends had even suggested that the steak was supposedly good, but the idea of what the kitchen might look like was cringeworthy. Several months ago the restaurant was sold and luckily to a local restaurant family. We were coming home from another restaurant and decided to stop in to see what had changed. Wow, what a difference. It still has a divey feel, but is now a cruiser bar(i.e. cruiser bikes). They left some of the original elements, but repainted a good bit and even decorated the bathroom with Denver Cruiser Club license plates. Well at least the women’s, since I can’t speak for the men. We’ve been there several times now and have really enjoyed the new feel. What we had… Beer — ok selection but it’s still working out kinks so their draft beer wasn’t working yet. Pickle Vodka — Yes you heard me right. Now this isn’t something to mix or to have more than one or so, but it was fantastic. I’ll admit that I LOVE pickles so it works for me. It may not be everyone else’s forte but I thought it was unique and creative. Burgers — Yum, yum, yum. It’s hard for me to get all excited about burgers. I’m usually disappointed when someone claims that the burger at xyz is just fantastic, but both of us really noted how great they are and will be going back. Service and owners — Servers are really great and definitely make sure to take care of you. I mention the owners as they have been there every time we’ve gone and are super friendly and down to earth. We even spent and afternoon playing bar games(i.e. how to get the water into a glass without touching it). It was pretty funny. I’d give this place a 5 star, but it is pretty dark and there are too many smokers on the patio. I’d like it to be more open, but then again it’s an institution so I don’t want to see them change it too much. All in all I think it’s a great place for a drink and burger. We will definitely be going back.

I have been here twice in the last 3 days. They really fixed this place up though it still maintains a slight divey charm. I came here Friday night where they were having some kind of $ 10 all you can drink wells & drafts after 10pm. I did not partake because I was already a few drinks in and that would have just done me in but that is an unbeatable deal! They have at least 5 nice new tvs and I watched some of a Nuggets game on but college ball was on all the other tvs if you’re into that. Most importantly, the wings! They were super delicious! Some of the best I’ve had in awhile. Come here if you like sports, bikes, cheap booze, and wings.

Did you ever go to the old club 404? It put the«dive» in «Ohcraptheonlypersoninthisdivebarisanaxemurdererwithadrinkingproblem.» True. It was sketchy, and sleazy, and just a little bit suspicious. Good burger, though. BUT! Just a few months ago, a bunch of bike kids from the Denver Cruiser ride bought up the old 404, gutted it, and turned it into a veritable paradise for Denver’s bike enthusiasts. Complete with bicycles hanging from the ceiling, big comfy booths, and a menu that is pretty damn decent, the wheel club is a far cry from the old 404. Any time of the day, the place is filled with your friendly neighborhood cruisers who at any moment, may hop on their bikes and ride off into the sunset. If you’re nice, they might even let you come with them. Leave the car at home. Come on your bike, drink some beer, play some pool. You can’t go wrong.

I was so happy to see all of the physical improvements to this once complete dump! It looks really good and the improvements are greatly appreciated for sure. However, I have NEVER been more mistreated by bar staff in my entire life. I entered the bar alone, and sat at the bar and was mmediately greeted by Haley(bartender). She was completely wonderful. The girl next to me and an OWNER were having a spit-wad fight next to me when suddenly I was shot in the eye with a spit-wad from the OWNER! No apology was made, but rather the bartender Nick threated to kick me out and told me I should leave after I expressed how ridiculous it was to be hit in the eye with a spit-wad by the owner. He screamed at me very aggressively/abusively and threatened me, while making a huge scene to which I was extremely embarrassed. After Haley calmed him down, he «let me stay.» Meanwhile the girl beside me was completely allowed to threaten/go-off on me because she didn’t see why getting hit with a spit-wad in the eye would make anyone upset. Nick allowed that to go on. After walking to the bathroom, I was sitting down at the bar when Nick began accusing me of shoving a girl on my walk back to my seat. I never shoved anyone. He started screaming and yelling at me yet again(very aggressively and somewhat violently) in front of everyone and had the bouncer escort me out of the bar. Nick is the most obnoxious out of control bartender I have ever been around. He rides the bike around the bar and behaves like an out of control spoiled brat(his dad is an owner). He would fit in nicely with the cast of «Jackass.»(In all seriousness). I went back in and had a manager call me. The manager called me and said he would get back in touch with me after he spoke with his staff… still waiting on that call. I used to be a a regular at the 404 but will never step foot in this joke of a bar ever again. See for yourself, it will only take a few times to this place to see how much of a horrible person Nick is. One word describes him, obnoxious.
