C’mon, seriously– where else can you see a herd of Longhorn Cattle driven straight through downtown during business hours? In JANUARY? This is a great event, every year roughly the second Thursday of the new year, and it kicks off the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo, commencing the following Friday and running two weeks.
You will see Westernaires, Mounted Police, Stagecoaches from the olden days, the mayor, Horses decked out in everything imaginable, and Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys!
Dress Warmly, grab a spot of 17th, and enjoy your little moment of Wild West!
