Visited Denver and used the bike share for the first time. So easy to use, always got a bike, and the main areas are pretty bike friendly. We had a billing issue and the gentleman on the phone was so friendly and professional and took care of the problem. Great company.

Denver B-​cycle is a SCAM. First of all the user information is extremely unclear and misleading. I checked out a bike and didn’t read the fine print saying you have to check in the bike every 30 minutes and was charged 100 dollars! Plus it’s expensive in the first place, 9 dollars for 30 minutes?! It’s a bike! I can Über for less than that.
It’s a shame that B-​cycle pretends to provide a good service to Denver when they are really just charging extortionate prices to tourists and locals alike.

Ok, tried this for the first time today. Here’s several reasons this b-​cycle is getting one star:
1. The bikes are extremely heavy.
2. The brakes on my bike were virtually nonexistent, plan on going very slow and starting to stop a mile ahead. Hmmm, liability Denver?
3. It’s expensive! I didn’t want to walk two miles so thought, ok I’ll give this a try. I used it for less then 10 mins to get to point A pickup spot and point B drop off spot and it costed $ 9 NINE DOLLARS! I could have taken an über or lyft for $ 5.
4. The returning is confusing, there’s supposed to be a light that flashes green but does not.
5. Overall, this must be for visitors who don’t know any better. As far as using daily, no way, rip off and uncomfortable.

B-​Cycle! Whats going on lately?!
Look, I still love your system, but at this point I’m looking into just getting my own bike, and not shelling out nearly $ 200 like I did last year. I still have the same complaint I had back in October; We haven’t been able to redeem our free rides. Last time we called in, we were told to use our phone number to redeem the free trips. As I suspected, it didn’t work. We called in (Saturday morning) and got the same story that we always hear… call back during the week, and they will take care of it because nothing can be done over the weekend. I understand having different staffing needs during the week, but like your company, I work Monday-​Friday. This means I’m using your services on the weekends.
It’s extremely frustrating that the rate increased for rides over 30 minutes (changed from $ 1 to $ 4), as well as the bike depots not spreading as far as they did previously.
I like B-​Cycle. I really do, but the changes that are happening, and the lack of ability to resolve ongoing customer service issues is disheartening.
I think our mutual beneficial relationship is coming to a close. But I enjoyed it while it lasted.

We were on our way to Vail via a stopover in Denver. It was a perfect day in Denver and we wanted to check the town out, what better way than by bike.
A few tips: download the B-​Cycle App to find out the locations of the stations, there were 5 of us and it was nice to see which stations had enough bikes and parking spots.
You are not limited to 30 minutes per trip but highly recommend setting a timer because if you go over 30 minutes you get hit with a $ 5 charge. It is bike sharing not bike hogging.
We planned our stopping at various breweries, tap houses, food stands and restaurants because we are foodies and you can check on the app for bike stations.

Not tourist friendly. It seems like a good idea in theory but your better off renting a car. It’s super $$ if you want to fully explore Denver. Apparently it’s 9 for the whole day. That’s a lie. It’s 9 then a dollar and another dollars and another dollar. Don’t get ripped off. Horrible.

I’ve been pretty pleased with B-​Cycle overall! I like that they keep track of your miles that you’ve ridden. It was fun to set a goal and see how far we traveled. There are a lot of stations in Denver, and they are pretty conveniently located. I know some of the negative reviews were based on a misunderstanding of the rules of a 30 min check out window. I never found it difficult to check the bike in and out while riding around, but made the choice to go out to Sloan’s lake and pay the additional fee to have the bike longer. I wish that there was a way to have the bike out all day, but I understand that its a bike sharing system.
I have had a few technical issues, with my bike showing as not checked in etc but a call to the customer service department was able to get it resolved. Some of the stations had some damage to the screens that are used to check out the bikes, which is unfortunate. I only had one issue with a flat tire, and overall, the bikes have all been in pretty good riding condition. I really like the specialty bikes that you see every so often! Its exciting to pull up to a station and see if there are any waiting for you.
The only complaint I’ve had is that there was an offer made for 3 free rides, based on some tech issues, and when a call was made to redeem, we were told they didn’t have access to that system on the weekends. It was suggested to call back during the week.

The team at B-​cycle Denver (especially Ben Gazaway) have been awesome. We had a promotion through our apartment complex and the sign up was a bit tricky. Ben walked me through that process and the other night when I hit Purchase instead of Member he refunded the payment.
The concept is great and now with the Apps that will show you updated information about how full or empty a station is you can really plan ahead. Do yourself a favor and buy a pass. You will use it way more than you anticipate.

Love this concept: rent a bike, explore the city! I remember when it popped up a few years ago, and we would get a day membership whenever a friend came to town. It’s a great way to see the sights, spend some time in different neighborhoods, and to do all of that while biking… so Denver.
A day membership is 9 or 10 bucks. It gives you unlimited rides for less than 30 minutes. The idea is that you check a bike out, ride to a Bcycle station close to your destination, and turn the bike back in. Spend whatever time at your destination that you desire, and then repeat the process! All day. Brilliant.
Better yet: buy a year membership for 65 bucks (I think). Personally, I don’t bike in the winter, so I do a monthly membership for those months that I use it. 10 or 15 bucks (I obviously need to check) for the month. I walk a few blocks to a station, check out a bike, bike toward work, turn it in, and then walk the last few blocks to work in the spring and summer months.
The only reason I can’t give four stars is because there have been a few days that a station has been down for whatever reason and my Bcycle card isn’t accepted, thus, I’m left unable to check out a bike. In fact, a few days ago, all the stations were down in the city. While I understand that technology isn’t perfect, for those of us who rely on these bikes to get to work (which is the whole idea!!!), that’s unfortunate.

This is such a great service! Coming from an area that isn’t super bike friendly to Denver where they encourage bike riding is awesome. So my husband and I are visiting from out of town. The weather being beautiful as it is and not being too far from downtown, we decided to take advantage of bike-​sharing. The bike station is a block away from where we are staying and for $ 9.00 per bike, we were able to ride downtown and drop off the bikes at a station. Using the b-​cycle app helped a lot as I could find stations close to where I was located. After doing what I needed to do downtown, found a station then rode bikes to the museum of nature and science which had a bike station right in the parking lot. After that, I was able to take the bikes back out to ride back to my home station. It was a great way to spend the day and I would totally recommend B-​Cycle to anyone, local or visiting.

Great bike rental program and the cherry creek trail was fantastic! Got a free rental code at our hotel, too. Highly recommend.

A convenient, affordable way to enjoy the sights of Denver. Easy to sign up and use, comfortable bikes.

My husband and I found ourselves with a day off. Since he is new to Denver we felt it’d be a great day to go exploring. We picked up our bicycles at Cherry Creek Mall after parking I in their parking garage. From there we took Cherry Creek Trail to Denver Health to check in our bikes, we then re-​checked out our bikes and headed into the city. We rode to the Denver public library on 14^th and Broadway and turned in our bikes. We walked all over downtown, checking out the Denver Art Museum, Civic Center Park, the City and County Building and Capital. We decided to walk some and walked to 16^th Street then down to Cooks Field and over to Breckenridge Brewery and up to the Great Divide. Reviews to follow… We picked up our bikes again ok not Arapahoe and rode down to Larimer did a quick check in and rode back to the mall. For $ 9 per bike for 24 hours this helped facilitate a perfect date with my husband!

I live in LA and we still don’t have these bike rentals so I was super excited to see them in Denver! The bikes are a bit heavy and take some adjusting to, but it was fun to be able to ride around the city and the park. I don’t think I actually rode the bikes around long enough to get my money’s worth out of the rental, but it was cool to have the option to ride around the city. Renting and returning the bike is really easy, just make sure that your bike is locked in before you walk away from it, and try to keep your rides under 30 mins or they will charge you extra depending on how long you keep the bike. 30 – 60 mins add $ 1 to each check out.

A total rip off! I actually love the service but it’s such a SCAM.
We must have used it at least 20 times of the past few years. Each time we are setting up new memberships for $ 9. Iv’e gone on the app and unless you are willing to buy a long term membership we basically end up paying $ 18 a pop for a ride around city parks. Which is absolutely RIDICULOUS. After a while we are chuckling at what a bunch of gullible idiots we are to keep using the system, and how Denver B Cycle environmentally, earth friendly, bettering our city’s, happy hippie company is RAKING in the dough.
If you are a student, or a commuter who will use this every week than a membership is a great deal. But if you are the majority of people who just want to use it occasionally through out the year it’s deeply flawed. The price needs to be reasonable for the service, it’s not about spending the money but about the value of what you are purchasing.
Like other bike systems that are through out the country that are put in place for great intentions and not just to make money. I think the membership fee should be a one time yearly membership fee. $ 30– 40 I would be happy to pay. The first 30 should still be free, and a dollar or even more after that — cool.
On a happier note we have finally purchased a bike rack.

My experience with B-​Cycle was the best!
I got to experience the city with my free time for a small fee of $ 9 a day. Yes, you have to return the bike before the half hour mark or else you’ll get charged a dollar (which did happen), but they conveniently have stations all over Downtown Denver. Most places we visited, they had a station right outside! It was freaking awesome.
The bike has three gears so it makes it easy to ride. I personally do not think that Denver is very bike friendly, but their sidewalks are pretty wide and people are nice enough to step aside.
Definitely recommend this over everything else because you won’t spend an arm and a leg like you could spend on a rental car or scooter rides.

A great program! Always clean, serviced, solid, and dependable bikes. Never had any issues renting, nor returning a bike at all. I had bikes stolen before, so it is nice to not have to worry about locking it up correctly, keeping an eye on it, nor dragging it all over town.
Seems the people who hate this program don’t take the time to read the 3 lines of terms and conditions and had to pay for it. This program is not meant for all-​day rentals! If you actually read the 150 words that spelled this out, you wouldn’t owe $ 75. Just a heads up: when you don’t read something before agreeing to it, it is not a scam; it is you being an idiot and not reading. Pretty easy: half hour or less is no charge, up to an hour is $ 1, anything over if $ 4 an hour. SIMPLE, even to morons.
Perfect for 20 minute rides downtown and back, to shows, concerts, a drink, Avs games, or whatever. Always a station close by.

$ 1,188 charge! DO NOT RENT THESE BIKES! Me and six of my friends rented bikes for 1 hour and turned them in together. They all witnessed me turn my bike in. However, Denver B-​cycle claims that my bike was not turned in and cannot be found at any bike station.
I spoke with their management and they admit that this has happened to other people. She said that 99.9% of the time the bikes show up. So she is admitting that the system is broken and they have done nothing about it. There are no receipts or cameras or anything to prove that the bikes are turned in. It is completely in the companies favor to do this and I truly believe it is a SCAM.
Save yourself the trouble!

Oh man, this service just took my little 3 day fun trip to Denver to the next level. Lots of good beer and food in Denver, it’s time to burn some calories.
My wife and I rode all over downtown, LoDo, RiNo, Highland… there are stations everywhere. We never once saw a station with no bikes or one with full racks either.
The pricing structure just needs to be paid attention to. It took us a second but it’s as clear as they can make it. You buy a membership for 24 hours, which gives you unlimited half hour rides within that period. (Membership is $ 8, I did a 10 second google search and found a $ 2 off promo code) If you keep a bike longer than 30 minutes, you start picking up $ 1 charges, and the charges grow the longer you keep it out. Just rack the thing every half hour at one of the million stations around town and check it out again. I wish the limit was a little longer than 30 minutes, but that’s how it is.
Denver is incredibly bike friendly. Lanes everywhere, trails everywhere… you can be downtown one minute and riding through trees next to a small river the next. Do some research on the trails, get the B Cycle app, set a 25 minute timer and you’ll be set. Your butt will be sore by the end of day, but you’ll be set.

I used Bcycle on a recent trip to Denver. I think it is a great deal, you pay $ 8 and have 24 hours to rent a bike at many locations throughout the city in 30 minute increments, basically for each trip aka bike checkout. If you go over 30 minutes for a single trip, they will charge you extra. Simple as that, the folks below me who got «overcharged» clearly didn’t read the Terms of Service for the whole system to work correctly. PS — the text message they send you to confirm your 24 hour rental period, says this in capital letters! I went over a little bit on one of my trips and I was charged $ 1, not a big deal since I knew what I was agreeing to. Overall I think it’s a great service and I wish more cities had this. Denver was a very bike friendly city, it was pretty easy to find a bcycle using the app, although I wish the signage was better in some of the locations. I also wish the bikes for a little bit better and had more gears. they are very heavy, and the front wheel is sort of spring loaded so it’s kind of funky to turn. I do like the basket on there though. And not all of them had bells which is key when you’re dealing with cars and pedestrians. Tip, before you actually select the bike to check out from the station, you should go inspect the one you are considering… make sure the seat goes up and down, make sure the brakes clamp pretty well, etcetera.

This is a complete scam!!! 8 $ for a 24 hour rental? Sounds like a great deal! CONSUMER BEWARE!!! This is a complete scam. I returned my bike within the 24 hour limit, then checked my bank statement to find a 75 $ charge to my account. I called customer support to inquire about this mystery charge on my account, and they explained to me that the 24 hour bike rental is not that at all, in fact it is only «24 hour access» to the bike. This meaning that you must «dock» said bike every 30 minutes for the remaining 23 hours and 30 minutes, or you will be charged 75 $??? This is absurd for a company who seems to want to provide a environmentally friendly service at an affordable rates. In fact, this so called «deal» of renting a bcycle for 24 hours, should not be offered at all, and the terms of agreement should be explained thoroughly. Great old classic bait and switch.

Welcome to the most suspect city bike rental service, Denver B-​cycle. If you are going to force me to ride around with a little basket at least give me a bell and maybe some streamers on my handlebars so I can be completely obnoxious. No big deal as I rode the shit out of that bike even with bums laughing and making comments as I rode past.
Compared to Citi bikes in NY, they don’t handle as well and the gears aren’t consistent from one gear to the next. The biggest issue is the fact that you aren’t even given a receipt to let you know when you have to return your bike to the next location. I applaud the wide variety of locations but might want to think about having a no basket option or tweaking your app so that you can give notifications to let people know how much time they have left, how much extra they are being charged, etc.

We have these in Houston, but I would have to drive into town to find a place to rent a bike, so I’ve never used them at home.
Having spent the weekend in downtown Denver and lucking into some beautiful weather, my wife and I decided to try these out to ride from REI back to our hotel as well as a little jaunt down the trail by the river. This is a city where B-​Cycle makes sense.
As for the bikes, they’re heavy and not very comfortable. About 30 minutes is perfect on these bikes. Anything longer than that would be torture. But they’re in good condition, they have 3 gears to get you up hills, and the built-​in basket means you can get the stuff you bought back to where you’re going.
Well done, Denver.

$ 179? Seriously!
Three of my friends and I rent a bike each to ride around the Washington park for a hour.
It wasn’t that bad and it was cheap. We had pretty good time at the park.
Not till couple days later, we all got charged $ 179 for bike damage. Immediately we tried to call the Denver B-​cycle about this and it must be some kind of mistake because the bikes were same as before when we returned the bikes. Nope, they will not pick up your call and they will not reply you. We even called the bank/​credit union to contact them to see if they have the evidences that the bikes were damaged. Nope, the banks got nothing from them. Since I live in Utah and I cannot just fly to Denver and go to their office to complain about this issue. One of my friends went to their office and they turned him away.
Luckily, our credit union was really nice and refund the money. Our friends weren’t so lucky.
What a trashy and shady company!
With that kind money, you can just buy yourself a bike.

i wish there were more of these in other cities. it’s convenient. you just pick a bike, type in the number, and pay with your credit card.
if you bike for less than half an hour, it’s free.
the 24 hr rate is $ 8. (but i hear that it is not a 24hr rate since overnight is more of a charge.)
i didn’t like how the handlebars were sticky. would recommend putting little sandwich bags on them if you want to avoid that. there is a basket in front so that you can ride around and shop too. heheh.
