If you want to see businessmen or sales, here is the right place. If you want to see caring Dr and Nurses, go somewhere else. From the beginning to the end, it’s all about MONEY and we hardly got chance to ask any real questions. And they rush you to start IVF right away. They don’t care about what you want or what you are worried about. Terrible experience.

I visited Dr Swanson last year. It was the darkest time in my life, since he just could not understand my case and diagnosed me with a very complicated and untreatable case. I should also thank him because he introduced Dr Ruben Alvero for second opinion and Dr Alvero just saved my life.

I’ve been a patient at Conceptions for the last six months. While the visits there resulted in a positive pregnancy, I would not visit this team again. And by team, I mean the entire Conceptions network at any location. The short answer why? Their communication is horrible, their systems have been down far too much, the customer service was appalling in some cases, and after nearly every encounter with them I was extremely frustrated. If we need assistance for more future children, we will not be coming here.
The long answer why?
–Numerous times when trying to schedule an appointment or get information, their computer systems were down. Or their phones were down. Or both.
–When stuck on the east coast due to weather and after just starting my next cycle, I asked how the schedule of medication and triggering would work if I arrived back in CO more than a few days past the start of my cycle. The nurse responded by congratulating me on my pregnancy. Huh?
–After leaving a voicemail on the nurse’s line, I received a call from one nurse, and while I was talking to her, another nurse called. I’ve also received extremely confusing voicemails that «responded to my question» but had nothing to do with the question I actually asked.
–They couldn’t find the medication that Dr. Ambler had prescribed for me when I ran out of refills and needed more. I was told, «We’ve never prescribed that medication to you.» Um, false. I have the Rx bottle in front of me with Dr. Ambler’s name on it. The nurse eventually found reference to it in a different nurse’s case notes.
–We preferred care at Rose, but we were sent to Littleton numerous times, even for services that the Rose office is capable of providing.
–We actually saw Dr. Ambler only once in the 6 months I was a patient there.
–One nurse explained that patients typically had a primary nurse, even if other nurses assist, and that nurse was to be the continuity of care. She said she would be my primary nurse. I never met her. And I never heard from her again after that phone call.
–At one of my last appointments, I was handed a form saying that just in case the procedures being done that day weren’t covered by insurance, I had to provide a credit card to cover the cost of the services. When I stated that it would have been nice to be aware of this before I arrived at the appointment to confirm coverage with my insurance, the lady at the desk was extremely rude. When I explained that I was just trying to provide constructive feedback that might allow for better communications with their patients for something that could result in large expenses, she continued to be extremely rude.
–Each time we sat in the upstairs waiting room of the Littleton office, the two ladies at the desk could be heard making unprofessional and rude remarks about someone else. People they didn’t like, people they didn’t like talking to, or people they didn’t like working with.
–Many times we showed up for appointments early to the Littleton clinic, as instructed, and we waited quite some time after our appointment to be seen. People who showed up after us were seen before us on more than a few occasions, even after my scheduled appointment time had passed.
–I was quoted a certain amount for IUI, but upon arrival the day of IUI, I was charged more than quoted.
This baby in my belly was totally worth it, but I won’t be going through this again with these people.

«Eek! Methinks not» indeed! I visited both the Denver and Littleton Conceptions clinics and had terrible customer service experiences with them. With this Denver clinic we had an IUI and there was a problem with the results of the «wash». The nurse didn’t explain this properly, and the doctors were nowhere to be seen, so we went along with the procedure not knowing that it would NEVER work. This resulted in a 3-​year battle to get a refund. I was ultimately successful in getting my money back via the Better Business Bureau. Since this time, Conceptions has been busy getting my reviews taken down on Unilocal and trying to silence me — how about you guys spend your time improving your game instead? Check out their many one and two star reviews to see the other customers who agree with me. I think the five star reviews are biased. My gynecologist did not recommend Conceptions and I should have listened to him in the first place. Not recommended…

Dr. Ambler was amazing! My husband and I tried conceiving for about 8 – 9 months before going in for testing and diagnostics. something my normal OB refuses to do until at least a year of trying. Well, I’m almost 34 so I didnt want to wait a full year. They did all sorts of testing that my insurance ended up covering at 100% besides my copays and they immediately found that I have a thyroid issue. I got put on synthroid immediately and got pregnant two weeks later naturally. Thanks to the great staff there! Amazing customer service every time I went in!

I can’t speak for all of the doctors at Conceptions, but I can speak to my experience with Dr. Dana Ambler. Unlike many people who go through infertility treatment, I am one of the lucky ones who had a relatively easy journey through diagnosis and IVF fertility treatment, resulting in a pregnancy due in August 2016. However, I have to give credit where it is due, and I believe a large portion of my success lies on the shoulders of Dr. Ambler and her wonderful team of nurses and office staff.
I found Dr. Ambler to be incredibly personable, kind, compassionate, and happy to sit and discuss options, answer questions, and assuage concerns and fears. Finding out that you are «infertile» is one of the most terrible things things that a person hoping to one day be a parent can go through. For both men and women, it is demoralizing and heart breaking to know that there is something «wrong» with you. But through this process I was surrounded by positivity, straight forward answers, and hope, which I had not had for a very long time in regards to having a child of my own.
Fertility treatment is not an easy road to travel, nor an inexpensive one. But if you are faced with this and want to have the best support that you can have, then I strongly encourage you to go with Dr. Ambler and her team. I’d like to especially thank Erica, Corey, and Tanya for their kindness and support through what could have been a really traumatic experience.

I only have the best things to say about Dr. Ambler and our experience at Conceptions. Start to finish, Dr. Ambler was HANDS DOWN the most caring and competent doctor I have ever worked with. I felt like I was walked through every step of the process by Dr. Ambler as well as the nurses. As a result, we have a 11 month old daughter and a second on the way! Could not be happier!
edit– Was reading some other reviews and thought I should mention we talked with a few other clinics before deciding on working with Conceptions. We personally found CCRM to lack a personal feel, but to each their own.

We have been struggling to get pregnant on our own for over 2 almost 3 years now. Conceptions posted a $ 90 consultation special on Facebook around June or July for there Lafayette location. I took a deep breath and decided to go for it! We show up pay our $ 90 dollars of which she told us blood work, ultrasound and hsg test would be done. Leading me to the understanding that this was all included in the $ 90 consultation… boy was I wrong! I wasn’t even able to complete the consultation because I kept getting surprise bills! I call the billing department. They weren’t even aware of the special! She said she would clear up my account. I then found out that my upcoming hsg test was NOT included in the $ 90 consult and I would have to pay $ 1200 for that procedure! To this day i am fighting with them regarding these bills! What did I pay $ 90 for then? Why post a special that really isn’t a special? It was a way to get me I’m the door and mislead me. I highly recommend you don’t use conceptions! They sure know how to kick you when your down! Very misleading and money hungry! They do not have your best interest in mind! Very disappointing given they work with people who are at there most desperate!

I think Dr. Bush and his staff are amazing! I was able to conceive on my first round of FET, however, I ended up having a miscarriage around 12 weeks. Dr. Bush and his staff have not tried to push me into having another FET. If anything, they have been extra cautious with moving forward because they want to ensure that everything has healed and that my body is in the best condition for another FET. I genuinely feel that Dr. Bush is much more concerned about getting me in the best physical and mental condition for a successful FET than trying to perform as many FETs as possible. I’m not sure about the other doctors at this practice, but I would highly recommend Dr. Bush.

After reaching out for a basic consultation 2 months ago, I left Dr. Amblers office feeling as though she did not listen to me and immediately suggested the most expensive services available including IVF, which was truly a ridiculous suggestion given out situation. My partner has a vasectomy and we have chosen to use a sperm donor.
Anyway, I paid my bill and left the office, assuming that would be it. A couple of hours later I got a call asking for 187.00 in addition to the 175.00 I had already paid. OK. I paid it because I clearly did not understand the additional charge for the services I received at the time, which were not clarified to me at all. Now, I definitely did not was to pursue any additional service from this organization. I was feeling scammed and preyed upon as a vulnerable person seeking infertility treatment. A couple of weeks later I received another bill for $ 8.80. There was no explanation for this bill and I just ignored it, assuming it was a mistake. Yesterday, I received an additional bill for 75.00 from a company called Reprosource. This was really upsetting to me. I have yet to receive any feedback from this company and feel as though Conceptions preyed upon my vulnerability. I really want to have a child and don’t have a lot of extra available resources for infertility. These bills just keep coming and all I really signed up for was a consultation.
When I called the billing department to inquire about these services the Billing manager basically told me that I was an idiot for not understanding all the fees I would be charged for a basic consultation.

I’ll be blunt. We went to another fertility clinic that was well reviewed and «highly regarded» by our insurance company. They squandered our only opportunity to have insurance cover the procedure, wasting years trying to create an embryo with my wife’s «morphologically gorgeous» eggs. Unfortunately, morphology means little and genetics is everything.
Fortunately, we had the financial resources to pay for procedures privately and, after errantly placing our trust in the other clinic for almost two years we switched to Dr. Bush at Conceptions. At our urging, he performed an egg retrieval and found all of the eggs to be genetically challenged. We changed gears, used one of Dr. Bush’s donors and now have a handsome, brilliant 15 month-​old running around and we have another on the way. (FYI: We did look at 3^rd party donor brokers and even wrote some large checks there. We found that the MEDICAL quality of the donors was not good and that the brokers felt a bit like dealing with, well…, brokers.)
We’ve had good experiences with all of the doctors we have seen at Conceptions but most of our visits have been with Dr. Bush. He’s a brilliant guy who may seem academically absorbed — wrapped up in his procedures and success rates. My perception is that he IS wrapped up in it the way that many brilliant people are. There also may be a touch of shyness since he warmed to us dramatically over time and is now funny and engaging every time we see him. He obviously loves and is THE expert in what he does. Unlike our previous doctors, he understands the developmental biology and (critically to you) the endocrinology necessary to ensure success in patients who have had trouble in the past.
My wife and I have been down quite a long road and have spent tens of thousands in insurance money (and closer to six figures of family funds) on getting pregnant. I can tell you that the one thing I would do differently, given it to do all over again, would be to see Dr. Bush first thing out of the gate.
I’ve read the negative reviews. They seem to fall into two categories:
1) «I’m a patient, and the doctor wouldn’t perform the procedure I wanted because they said there was little chance of success» and
2) «I’m a donor broker and don’t like working with this office.»
In the first case, I would urge the patient to listen to the doctor — particularly if the doctor is warning of a potentially bad outcome. I wish our previous doctors had been less comfortable with «hope-​based» therapies and had been prescient in identifying and warning us of the risks. In the second case, having attempted to work with brokers, I find myself fairly dismissive of the complaints. This note focuses on patient outcomes and not the convenience or working experience of someone who is brokering access to eggs in hopes of collecting a fee.

Much like Emily, I, too, felt/​feel embarrassed and «broken» when I realized getting pregnant wouldn’t be so easy for us. Initially, everyone I met at Conceptions was extremely warm and friendly, and I felt like they truly understood what we were going through and took the time to answer all our questions and explain our options. They never seem rushed or treated me like I’m just another patient, or made me feel bad about my age (I’m in my late-​30s).
However… IVF didn’t work and they didn’t seem interested in trying another round. I asked for recommendations for therapists who dealt with infertility issues as well as adoption agencies. I didn’t receive either, nor did I hear from anyone there again.

We believed Conceptions was the answers to our prayers after meeting with Dr. Ambler, who told us we had a greater than 80% chance of conceiving with IVF based on our situation. However, its clear this place cares more about making money then the actual patients. We were continually upsold on things we should do that would increase our odds even more, only to have a failed FET. Every patient is unique, granted, but looking back we have many unanswered questions about why we did or didn’t do certain things. Actually — they always had an answer but it never had anything to do with their protocols or process. Furthermore, their billing process is sketchy. We paid a lump sum up front and they continued to bill our insurance provider for office visits and other miscellaneous items, which I had to push back on. They resolved it, but it made me question their process even further. Lastly, they encourage acupuncture so we spent even more money on their go-​to-​guy, who also is expensive and seems to have a sweet deal with this group. Acupuncture did nothing leading up to the retrieval nor did it help with implantation — but you feel obligated to do it out of fear (at least I did). Throughout the process, there is very little interaction with the doctor, which means no guidance or help preparing for anything mentally or physically. The RNs do their best, but it’s not the same. If I felt like we did everything the best way possible and it still didn’t work, I would not be writing this post, but clearly this was not a great experience for us.

I felt embarrassed and ashamed when I realized I couldn’t have children without medical help. Years of illnesses had taken a toll. I was shaking that first visit. Dr Bush’s first words after reading my chart were,” you’ve been to hell and back. Let’s make this easy.” Dr Bush fully advised us of our options and explained in detail why IVF was so expensive.
We decided on IVF but needed the last year to save for it. I was still assigned a nurse, Erica P, who I contacted monthly. I have been nervous about the procedures because I live with constant pain. Erica has worked with our insurance to find options which would reduce my pain during procedures and be mostly covered by insurance.
Erica P is the most wonderful and caring nurse. She has put aside all my feelings of terror and depression because my body doesn’t work right. We haven’t paid them a dime yet (for IVF) and still, Dr bush and Erica are available for questions.
So, anybody who says they don’t care, I don’t agree. They care about helping me get pregnant while helping me manage the barrage of medical problems I have. Thank you guys! Can’t wait to get started in August!!!

My husband and I were so excited to go to Conceptions. I know 3 women who have done IVF through conceptions and all got pregnant. So I thought, heck ya! First off, they told us at each appointment that our insurance definitely covered each initial blood test as well as IUI. We go through with all kinds of blood work, HSG procedure, and on to the IUI… then BAM — I get all the claims in the mail denied.
Long story short, we ended up owing EVERYTHING. because conceptions billing department is atrocious. We got several notices from our insurance company stating they had attempted to get more medical records from conceptions for claims purposes and that after several attempts the claims were denied. They are just so awful.
Besides the awful billing department, you NEVER see the doctor. Unless you are doing IVF the Doctors there never call you, email you, or meet with you. If you want to talk to a Doctor you have to pay 75 $. It’s just a cruel joke really. All the nurses perform the IUIs, not the doctors. And you don’t know who is performing your IUI until you get there. I had a nurse from another office called in to do my IUI who I don’t even know what their credentials are. My second IUI I had a nurse that Ive never heard or nor met.
Overall i’m just so discouraged. I want to find an office that treats their patients with respect and honesty. I want a doctor who will perform my procedures, and who will look at me as a human being and not just as a piggy bank.

Not a great experience at all. The doctor we saw at the Rose campus office is clearly a scientist, who has a grasp on all the data however doesnt seem to understand that she is dealing with people. Her compassion and understanding leaves a great deal to be desired. Additionally this practice seems to be entirely interested in pushing you to IVF without exhausting or exploring any other options. Go figure, IVF is much more expensive and therefore more lucrative than more conservative treatment. Along these lines their success rate numbers dont balance out. You should really do your own math.
We continue to receive bills from them indicating past due amounts in spite of the fact that we paid everything as we went. We have complete records of payments and cancelled checks yet the statements we receive show no payments made, and again past due amounts. Actually, at this point we believe we have overpaid because we simply paid statements as they arrived and after reconciling realized that we have paid more than was billed.
Nursing staff and front desk were the only high points in this experience. We transferred to Colorado Reproductive Endocrinology (Dr. Susan Trout) and feel very comfortable with all aspects of the process thus far.
I would definitely NOT recommend the Conceptions group.

I started looking into fertility treatment options and came across Conceptions. It was a big and overwhelming decision to start looking in treatment options. When I had my initial consultation with Dr. Ambler, I immediately felt comfortable. She was able to explain everything so I could understand the process. She gave me options and explained which would truly be best for me, while leaving all pressure aside, left the final decision in my court. Her staff at the location were all very friendly and helpful. I have started the fertility treatment process and every time I go into the office everyone is smiling. They know me by name and are all so genuine. Quite opposite from that previous post, I have run into a couple financial hiccups along the way and they have found ways to help me make it through this process to have a baby.

Conceptions is a money farm, no not baby farm, money farm. The staff was aloof, and rarely concerned about what was going on with me. The NP made my partner feel uncomfortable when she wanted to stay in the room with me, which is what I wanted. And they treated me like a was a fertility patient when I wasn’t. I just needed IUIs. Never ONCE saw the doctor assigned to me and the didn’t have the same nurse all the time. Lab techs were rude. Only bright spot was the Rad Tech who did the ultrasounds. When I finally called and wanted to end my relationship with them thousands of $$$ later they were beyond rude. Also be careful with their billing department. They send out bills to the wrong address, then send out final notices threatening collection agencies of it’s not paid in 14 days, but don’t postmark it until 3 days before that deadline. Awful experience!

Do NOT go here! After 3 miscarriages I came here looking for help and answers. I found Dr. Von Wald very cold and condescending. She told me I had a septum in my uterus and that was finally the answer for all my lost babies. We scheduled the surgery and I was so thrilled to have found the problem. When I woke up from surgery Dr. Von Wald had already left the hospital. I found out from the nurse that she «couldn’t find the septum». I called the doctor on the phone and she laughed at me when I was crying because I thought we had found the answer. I went on to have a FOURTH miscarriage. Then I found CCRM (Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine). When I got my file from Conceptions I found soooo many erros in my history and profile. It was unbelievable. I should have gone to CCRM first! Dr. Minjarez is spectacular. She did a 3D ultrasound on my first appointment and found a huge, undeniable septum. The same septum that I had gone in to have removed but Dr. Von Wald «couldn’t find it». Dr. Minjarez scheduled the surgery and took care of everything. She got me on new medications and as soon as she gave me the green light, we got pregnant! I am happy to say that everything now if perfect. PLEASE don’t waste your time with Conceptions. Go to CCRM, they are the best!
