College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

Matt and Ethan were incredibly quick and to the point. They conducted themselves in a professional manner and hauled our junk away faster than I’ve ever seen! Professional, kind, quick, and fair prices. What more do you want in a company?

We arranged for CHHJ to pick up a working treadmill to donate to Goodwill.
Using their website, I scheduled the appointment for this afternoon, with our Conifer address as the pickup location. I was quoted $ 124 for the service, which I thought was fair.
I received an email verifying our appointment and the fee, and received a call from their dispatcher verifying the appointment place and time.
An hour before the pickup today, their driver called to say that we live outside their regular service area — and that we’d be charged an additional $ 100 for the pickup, for a total of $ 224. I was speechless.
I called their call center and the person I spoke to agreed that the website did not indicate my address was out of their service area. She said she’d call the franchisee and have a manager call me.
The manager did call me to explain that the national website and call center do not take into consideration their service area. He offered to pick up the treadmill for $ 174, a $ 50 upcharge for their mileage.
I said no thanks.
The truck showed up minutes later (right on time). The driver and worker were very pleasant at all times. The driver said they’d received a text from their manager about the cancellation. The driver offered to show me their rate sheet. I explained that their rate sheet wasn’t relevant and that a $ 100 upcharge an hour before the appointment was completely out of line.
I thanked them, they thanked me, and they headed to their next pickup.
Their systems are clearly flawed. Everyone I spoke to was very nice, but that’s not the issue. If one can’t trust their website or their quote, I have to recommend that you look elsewhere for moving services.
We called a local gentleman who does appliance pickup (dead or alive) who had helped us in the past. Tim will pick up the treadmill for free this week. There are many options available to us. It’s unfortunate Goodwill won’t get the benefit of this donation this time.

Scheduled online — received both email and phone call confirmation the day before that they would arrive between 10:00 — 12:00 the next day. Finally, about 12:30 p.m. the day of, I get a phone call saying they are running late because some of their guys called in sick and they ask if I want to reschedule. This, after waiting around all morning. Might have been a good idea to call me first thing in the morning so I didn’t spend half my day waiting around.
Good experience on the front-​end getting everything set-​up; horrible in execution. Complete waste of time.

With just to go before selling my condoI needed to have 3 mattresses hauled away, so I called College Hunks at 10am for a same day pick. They called a few hours before pickup to let me know they would be in my area well ahead of my appointment time. I jumped at the chance to get rid of the unusable (read: well past their prime) mattresses a few hours earlier than planned.
Matt and Ethan arrived on time. After receiving the estimate to remove my junk they worked quickly and without banging up the walls in my home.
These fellows were polite, efficient and above all professional.
The call center employee who booked my appointment was equally as polite, but was unable to give me an accurate estimate (they were about $ 200 higher than the actual price I paid) for pricing even though I advised that I had mattresses as opposed to a mix bundle of goods.

Fast, easy, efficient! Only place to go if you need junk hauled away!

I am in the process of moving and needed my dryer hauled away. I found their online booking process very easy and liked that I could pick a window that worked for me. However, I was skeptical of the process in that they don’t quote you a price until the day they come out and then you can decide on the spot of you want them to proceed. I can certainly see how that would be a bit inconvenient for people if they don’t like the price, and would use their time to then shop around, but when they called to confirm my appt, I asked them to give me a ball park and it was on the money.
The two HUNKS (Brian and Tommy) called about an hour before they came (which was appreciated). Two well-​dressed, polite college students showed up, looked at what was being taken quoted a price, and we got started. Not only did they haul the dryer, but several other things that weren’t in the original request — right there on the spot. They were in and out in a few minutes. They were courteous, quick, and careful of my house. I’d use and recommend to anyone looking for a quick haul away.
And, the fact that they are affiliated with Good Will and Habitat is icing on the cake.

When moving, inevitably you will have items you no longer need or want. Most people will want to do the right thing by donating them to the Goodwill.
The Goodwill uses CHHJ as their third party to pick up donated items at a cost. Strikes me as odd that I have to pay to donate to the Goodwill but I decided to go with it since I was in a bit of a time crunch.
I was able to get an estimate over the phone based on how much of the truck my stuff would take up. Scheduling is a breeze and I was able to get my appointment next day. Once they come to your house and give the actual price you are allowed to send them away if you don’t like the price at no charge. Not something I did but it was nice to have the option.
The two College guys that came were on time, professional and took everything I needed them to take in under fifteen minutes. I even received a thank you post card in the mail a few days later from them for my donation. I was pleased with the service I received and would consider using them in the future if there was a need for it.

Wanted to donate 2 desks and 2 single beds. Was told to call this company and was quoted 300+. My local trash hauler took it all for $ 50. Goodwill needs to rethink their choice of vendors if this is the best they can come up with. I really wanted to donate the item since they were in good shape and could have been of use to someone but because of the quote I went with landfill rather than donation.

Overall outstanding service!!! College Hunks provided service to move too significantly heavy iron residential steam heat radiators. Key attributes of their service centered on timeliness, courtesy, and the ability to actually accomplish this signicant task. They even called for backup labor assistance which arrived in 15 minutes, impressive service. I will definitely utilize their services again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to move or haul away junk. Thanks for a job well done…

My company hired this company to move a bunch of file cabinets in a cramped storage space that we wanted to donate to Goodwill. These guys were ON TIME, curtious, and very professional. We also had them move a bunch of other random stuff at the last minute and they were totally polite about it. We will most definitely use these guys again!

Gavin & Jeff did an outstanding job. They were on time, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and truly classy! Moving is very stressful but Gavin and Jeff made it less stressful and were a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to anybody as they have a great work ethic and excellent people skills. GREAT GUYS!

I filled out the form online and didn’t hear back after about 2 – 3 days. So I called. «Did you get our e-​mail today?» asked the hunk on the phone. Uh, no I haven’t checked my e-​mails this afternoon. So come and find out since I’m moving from 20 miles outside of Boulder into Boulder, that is out of the hunks’ area. I was told they’d refer me to another company they work with, and guess what? They never called me either!
As for the e-​mail they supposedly sent — never got it. Bummer because a friend really liked the service and I had high hopes. I would have settled for a call back or a quote, I got neither.
