CAPCO Tile & Stone

These guys have great tile selection but their customer service is so horrible I wish I could bring my service elsewhere. No matter which department I’ve dealt with, the experience has been horrible. If you can go any where else to look for tile so you don’t end up loving something and then having to deal with their customer service.

Sarah, the branch manager, and Cecily, the granite slab professional, did a fantastic job helping select our new kitchen granite. They were flexible and easy to work with and went the extra mile when newer slabs arrived off a container that were nicer than the ones we chose. Sarah called and we went down and did like the new ones more. For such a big and expensive decision we really appreciated the excellent customer care! We will use Capco again for sure. They had the best customer service as well as the best selection of different granites.

I have done business with Capco for years. The designers are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Recently I had a sticky situation and the warehouse manager Rex and Sue in accounting were phenomenal in handling the situation professionally as well as kindly. They treated me exactly as I would want one of my clients treated. I will continue to use Capco, they have a terrific selection of tile, granite, and other products.

Just left service department with possibly the poorest experience I have had in years. As an aside, the driveway was not shoveled making getting into the parking lot difficult.
I spent over $ 60,000 with this place when I built my home and today I went in to get replacement caulk for a few rooms to repair. I brought in the old caulk tubes from here and the service guys tells me he does not have them. I ask if he can help me find suitable new ones and he essentially tosses a color book at me and goes about his business. I could go on but this will be the last time I step foot in this place.

I have been using Capco since 1998 because I decided to do my best to support local businesses. My experience with the employees is always positive. I recently visited their newly remodeled showroom (which looks beautiful) to select tiles for a bathroom project. After getting the help I needed from Venus, who was very knowledgable and helpful, I asked for samples. Not only did the samples arrive at the service desk very promptly, but the gentleman helping me carried them to my car for me. I was so grateful and impressed. The tile samples were heavy. I was drawn to Capco because the products they carry are unique and well priced. I also appreciate how knowledgable the employees are when I am unsure of the practicality of a particular tile I like. I give this place 5 stars!

Incredible showroom, very helpful designers, great selection, fair pricing. What more could you want from a tile showroom? Good selection of slabs in the back too.

We had nothing but success shopping for marble and granite at Capco. We visited a lot of tile vendors in Denver and none came close to the personal customer service we experienced with Venus Wood and Barb up front in the design center and then with Sarah Pankey and Tara Rieger in the warehouse and Joseph at the Customer Service Desk. We never felt rushed and whether it was moving slabs or working with designs until we were totally satisfied, we felt everyone was interested in us as persons… and not just another customer. The granite we liked had many slabs and the ones we wanted appeared to be at the back of the stack. No problem… Sarah and Tara and the guys in the yard could not have been more accommodating. I told them: «I hate to have you move all these slabs just so we can see the ones in the back»…and their response was: «No problem… You are our customer, and we are here to help you get just what you want!» We didn’t get that kind of willing response elsewhere. Capco was also very good about ordering lot samples for us and our job was completed without a single «hitch.» We ended up purchasing not only our granite and kitchen backsplash tiles at Capco but also our marble tiles for our master bath, as we found the best selection and pricing at Capco.

Great selection and nice people. Probably went 4 times over 4 months and checked out tile to take home. Each time I was helped by Michael Bedwell – who was extremely helpful and friendly. The company is on the complete opposite side of town where I live, but the drive was worth it, and everything I needed they had in stock.

I had a really great experience at Capco shopping for and ultimately purchasing a marble slab. My first visit was on a Saturday it was easy to find help on the floor despite it being relatively busy. When I decided that Capco had the slab I wanted, I went back on a Monday to pick out the exact slab. They had about 10 slabs altogether, and because I was spending a good amount of money on this purchase I really wanted to carefully hand select my favorite one. Tom and Enrique were incredibly helpful and friendly, giving me all the time I needed to look at and inspect each slab individually (this was a time consuming two man job as one of them had to drive the lift thing and the other had to hook each slab).
Throughout the process, Tom in particular was so gracious and encouraged me to take all the time I needed. Never once did he act annoyed or make me feel that I was taking too long or being too demanding. I really appreciated his attitude as it made all the difference in my overall experience at Capco.

We had a wonderful experience with Barb helping us pick out quartz for a counter, tile for our floor and she reminded us about grout colors too! We were in three times and Barb’s suggestions and patience were wonderful. The selection and atmosphere at Capco make shopping for tile and stone easy and pleasurable.
The store is beautiful… it’s worth a look around even if you do not have a specific project in mind!

Ok, I am changing my rating because the man at the top for CAPCO, Rod, reached out after seeing the review on Unilocal.He had not been aware of my month long efforts to get the repair done, and immediately took steps to correct the problem. He was VERY diligent about follow up and making certain the tile contractor had the replacement tile. It was, of course, messy and inconvenient, but I am quite happy with the outcome. I thank both Unilocal,and Rod with CAPCO for ending the irritation with this bathroom project.

This review is long, long overdue.
I realized the last time I was in the showroom (last month), I forgot to check in.
I was reminded of this oversight when a friend of mine mentioned they purchased their tile here recently.
This visit, I was there just to look around… dream if you will.
My master bathroom is looking a little «rough» and I needed some ideas.
Their showroom is gorgeous… almost overwhelming when you first walk in.
But take a breath and…
…ask to see the huge pieces in the back if you need a counter top.
It is a sea of Granite.
The receptionist, like on my visit before, was very helpful and was available to get me the person I needed to talk to.
And now…
I’ll take you back in time a few years. I met Brian Chute (He is one of the salespeople at CAPCO).
We were trying (without a clue) to figure out how to tile our house. We were redoing the entire main floor (tile and carpet) and also 2 bathrooms.
I had no clue… I think I mentioned that earlier.
Brian helped us pick out slate, tile, grout, sealer… everything we needed.
He especially was good with the color selection. (I’ve been told I’m colorblind, but don’t believe it.)
We had an installer already picked out, but I’m sure he could have helped with those questions as well.
The tile looked (looks) incredible. In fact, I wish the rest of my house looked as nice.
I know the next time I need tile, I’ll call Brian and CAPCO.

Note: My visit was made on a Saturday morning, so your experience may be different if made by appointment on the weekday.
The first thing you’ll notice is the odd location, but it ends up serving this place well because there is a TON of granite slab to choose from. In order not to get lost in the mess, I would recommend setting an appointment or working directly with your contractor or fabricator. However, if you are like my GF and I, we were able to browse with ease, find a slab that we loved and walk out knowing that we made the right decision.
There is also a nice showroom to help you with title and backsplash options for your bathroom. While the examples installed are limited, there are plenty of samples to look through and touch. I can also say Amy was bright and cheerful on a Saturday morning, even though our builder had not prepared her for our visit. Oh well, nothing can be perfect, but CAPCO is as close to it as possible.

I purchased quite a bit of tile from Capco recently, and can’t say that I’d be in a rush to go back.
On the plus side, their showroom is gorgeous — they have several kitchen and bathroom tableaus which allow you to get some idea of how certain tiles will work together.
The customer service wasn’t great. The employees frequently seemed annoyed to be there and weren’t all that pleasant to deal with. Nothing like the awesome people over at Arizona Tile.
As for the tile itself — they sent pieces that should not have made it through their quality control process. Pieces were chipped not only on the corners, but sometimes on the face of the tile itself. This was a «special order» tile, so we had to make due with what they sent in order to get the job done on time. However, at the prices they charge I do expect good quality. This isn’t freaking Floor and Décor, after all.

I checked out several other tile stores in the Denver area while planning for remodels to our bath and foyer and settled on Capco because of the nice showroom, attractive tiles, and good customer service. I simply can’t understand the characterizations of Capco’s service as «horrendous.» My experience was the opposite. I visited Capco on a half-​dozen occasions. The salespeople were consistently available to answer questions, helpful, and pleasant. Without displaying any signs of impatience, they spent hours helping me select tiles, choose grout colors, and figure out the layout of the tiles. They had creative ideas I never would have thought of on my own.
In addition, I have only the highest compliments for Capco’s artist, Cynthia. One reviewer’s nasty comments were completely out of line (and make me wonder who was smoking crack). Cynthia created a number of samples of decorative tiles to serve as inlays in my bath and foyer. The samples all perfectly matched the pictures I’d given her. She was great about keeping in touch with me, and the prices she quoted and charged for the custom tiles were very reasonable.
The tiles I purchased from Capco have been installed in my house, and they look great. While Capco might not be as fancy as Ann Sacks and its location is a bit odd, it’s a quality business.

I’ve been to several tile showrooms in Denver during the past few months and Capco had the best customer service along with a excellent selection of products. Barbara, the salesperson who helped me, was very knowledgeable and provided me with the information I needed to make a selection from such a wide range of choices. She listened carefully while I explained my project and then provided helpful feedback as I weighed my options. The showroom is very comfortable and well-​organized; there are carpet covered tables where you can lay out your selections to get an idea of how the colors and textures work together.

I just returned from Capco and had a great experience. I’m remodeling my master bath and entryway and found just the right tile for both areas.
The designers in their huge showroom were friendly, helpful and very professional. Even though I would have bought my tile today they encouraged me to check out samples to make sure the tiles I selected were right for my home. I can keep the samples for 2 weeks at no charge. They also gave me a list of tile installers and floor covering companies who would verify the amounts I needed, purchase the tile for me and install it.
I would recommend Capco to anyone who is looking for a great selection and service

Been to about every tile store in Denver. They have great selection, but a lot of the tile can be purchased for less elsewhere. The service was horrible and pretentious and I was the only customer in the store at the time. Gals working there seemed more concerned with cutting out sales signs then showing me tile. Beautiful showroom in a strange location.

So I’ll give them the fact that they have a breathtaking showroom. I almost felt the urge to run home and change into something a little nicer when I walked in, that being said, there’s where the good ends.
Their customer service was beyond horrendous. I came in on my lunch break and expected to spend maybe 30 min there just getting some ideas. I literally waited 45 min before somebody would even acknowledge my presence. Granted there were about 5 people ahead of me, they only had 1 person working the floor. When it was finally my turn I specified I wanted Spanish-​style tile with painted designs on them, and after a 45 min wait all she told me was «oh you need to go back and talk to our artist»…gee lady you could have told me that 45 min ago when I was contemplating bashing my head into that beautifully tiled countertop.
Ok so went back to talk to the artist, she showed me some of her work, $ 6 – 8 for one 4×4 painted tile, a little pricy but not unreasonable. So I told her I needed 25 12×12 tiles for our patio… she goes, and I quote «Oh well those are a bit larger so they’ll run you $ 100 a piece.» I about choked on my gum and spit it in her face. Never have I been more tempted to give somebody a drug test on the spot. Woman was smoking crack plain and simple. If the 4×4 are $ 8, PLEASE explain to me the justification of charging $ 100 for a 12×12. It’s not like I was hiring the ghost of Picasso to paint my tiles.
I can’t speak for the generic tile they have, but hell I’d rather have one of those animals in the zoo that paint with their mouths design my tile, than give that lunatic a cent of my money

I’ve been in the tile business for the last three years, and now that I’m retiring from it I can be honest about some of the vendors I’ve worked with. From a professional standpoint, Capco is very hit or miss.
The good:
Beautiful showroom
Gorgeous, unique, high quality products
Appropriate prices based on quality
Great reps for vendors like where I worked
The bad:
Horrendous customer service… even being in the field I have yet to call an order in and not be put on hold for at least 5 – 10 minutes. When I have a customer/​client waiting this is unacceptable and no other local tile suppliers are so rude. I have even lost orders because of them.
Snotty attitude (many of my clients complained of being treated horrible by the showroom staff)

So although Capco’s products are worth checking out, you may be best off avoiding direct contact. I suggest going through a local vendor who will offer better service for their product.
