We offer guided tours every hour on the half hour from 10:30 to 2:30 Monday through Saturday. In June, July and August a 3:30 tour is added. The home was built in 1883 for William Byers, the founder of the Rocky Mountain News. In 1889 it was sold to William Evans, who ran the Denver Tramway Company. William’s family lived in the home until 1981. Both the Evans and Byers were influential in shaping the city and its cultural heritage. The house as been restored to the 1912 – 1924 era. The majority of the objects on display belonged to the families.
In addition to guided tours, the Byers-Evans House Museum has a gallery with changing exhibits and a gift shop. The gift shop features a wide selection of books on Colorado history and unique gifts from local artists. The gallery and shop are open from 10:00 to 4:00.
