Bonacquisti Wine Company

Bonacquisti was recommended to me by a friend who is a member, and a gang of us descended on them on a Friday Night during their live music event– UNCORKED!
Most of us paid the $ 10 member fee for a 6-​wine tasting (since our member friend was present). Favorites included the Carmenere and the Sangiovese in the reds, the Pinot Grigio in the whites, and the fizzy Muscato in the pinks… Yum!
Bonacquisti tasting and tap room is a great spot for tastings and tours of the wine-​production area, as well a a great place to enjoy live music and dancing! Friday Nights Uncorked is a weekly live music event that provides the best occasion to enjoy friends, wine, and music all at once! Amazing! Plus, they have tons of amazing art by Daniel Luna, who designs all of their labels.

HHighly recommend! The owner took time to explain the different wines as well as the process. We enjoyed the wide variety and loved that they had growlers to fill. The sangria was over the top in flavor! They also have a small food menu that pairs well with their wines. Worth the trip! Would be great for meetings, parties or date nights!

A diamond in the rough! This place was lively and hopping on a Sunday night. The building is modern in a chalet style with a nice tasting counter. The wines were surprisingly outstanding! We have been all over the wirld tasting wine… France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Australia… and this was a great new world wine producer. All of the wines were exceptional from the first to the last. This is a great place to bring visitors and get a nice introduction to what the land can yeild. The food was also quite good and pairs nicely with your choice of wine. Staff was very friendly too. Only negative is they were closing down at 5pm which was disappointing for those wanting to linger a bit longer. We will definitly be back!

This is such great winery! I have visited a few Friday evenings. The wine is amazing, there is a nice variety available, & having the option of purchasing a growler is a wonderful idea. Staff is very friendly. There is live music which has been really great, and a different style of food is available (catered in by different companies) which is a nice option. There are colorful paintings on the wall that are really unique and available for purchase along with other neat foods/​jellies painted flower pots & wine accessories. I like that you have an option to join their wine club and there seem to be several perks for being a wine club member. The Bonaquisti website is great for updates, and has a lot of neat events/​information/​pictures. If a wine is not available, there is a quick turnaround on letting you know when it will be available. The website appears to be updated regularly. I’ve really enjoyed Bonaquisti Winery as a new occasional Friday night hangout!

Raving review for Bonacquisti Wine Company and their team. I recently hosted a party within the space and received countless compliments on the space, the wine, and the staff. It was a surprise party, so the bartenders went above and beyond to throw off the birthday girl, hosting a legit wine tasting moments before her big surpise. The event planner did an amazing job with the decorations, the special menu planning, and all the touches to make the day so special. The owner does a great job making the product work – great wine and homemade sausages (that I think they do once a month with Wine Club). All in all, it is a wonderful place for an event; the late 20’something’s/early 30-​year-​olds loved the affordability of the drinks, the ambiance of the venue, and the overall experience. Thanks again Bonacquisti!

One of the best kept secrets not just in Sunnyside, but all of Denver. Bonacquisti offers a cozy tasting room, top of the line customer service, and the best Italian style tasting wine you can get in Colorado. It is a winery that is cultivating community in the growing neighborhood. Friday nights capture the feeling of a family reunion setting. It is the «Cheers» of our days!

Hidden in a small strip of stores off 46^th and Pecos is the Bonacquisti Wine Company. While I’ve driven on I-​70 countless times I do not know the last time I have gotten off on Pecos.
The shop is in a strip of other new businesses.
The owner and other employee were very helpful throughout the event I attended, which was a tasting of most of their wines. They described each wine (two to three Reds and whites) before tasting.
My favorite was a red sangiovese Strong Neck Vinny (I believe).

Had a great time trying out all the delicious samples. Ended up buying a bottle of the Barbera. A smooth finish. Great customer service and a nice location. Will return.

Love the wine here in general — an exploration of flavors which other wineries are too timid to try. Vinnie No Neck, for instance, is kind of a shock to the system, but a welcome change of pace from the middling wines which seek to reconcile sweet and dry until you have a drinkable but compromised result.
The wine growlers are a nifty way to eschew the price of the bottle and cork if you know you’re going to drink the liter within a few days. I get mine filled when I have a dinner or party to go to, and it’s always a hit.
The atmosphere is nice, but can get a tad chaotic when they have live music. Personally, I love it, but those seeking a quieter wine tasting for a date or other venue for interpersonal conversation might do well to check whether there is a dance band on their calender beforehand :-)
I withhold the fifth star only because I wish they were open more than three days a week.

The owners are great! Very nice people and really know their wine! Great wines to taste, I ended up going home with the sangria, but will be back for others another time. The location is nice, right off the highway, but feels very intimate. Great for a party! I will definitely be back.

We were pretty disappointed with our experience sadly. It is very cool, as an idea. They have wine growlers and on top which is very appealing to the brewery crowd of denver. The patrons we’re very pleasant as well and encouraged us about the place.
On the negative side, the wines were not very good. We started at Rykers’s which is all about drinkable wine so maybe that was why we had problems. I like a majority of wines and so does my husband but their wasn’t any that stood out. I was also disappointed in the tasting experience. The first gentleman was polite but didn’t say much about the wine itself when giving a taster. He left because I think there was an event going on. The second guy knew nothing about the wine and barely gave us even a sip of wine. I have never been given such a minimal taste which is upsetting when you pay for the tasting. At one point he used the measuring glass, poured a little in both our glasses and threw the rest away! I was so sad at the waste it was. I hope it was just our experience because the guy new more about beer and couldn’t answer even one of our questions about wine.
Not sure if we will be back but we did buy a growler. I hope if we do go back, someone will make the time to answer questions and actually give us wine.

While the facility is nice, we need to be honest about the wine. It’s aweful. I’m a big fan of reds, particularly from California, but their wine is aweful. I’ve not found a great Colorado wine yet, and Bonaquisti is no exception. It’s simply aweful and over priced for the quality. It’s like expensive Franzia that tastes like jam.

LOVE LOVE this place — the guy that owns it Rocks and so does his Vino.
Hard to believe you can get Wine of this quality in Colorado — really delicious and he seems to make outstanding whites to super reds to the sweet dessert wines that my girlfriend loves and can’t put down. Haha — if you’re near there — check it out.

Great little local winery that I recommend to all my fellow wine lovers! The staff is very friendly and knowledgable and if you go on the right day you can meet the owner/​wine maker and pick his brain. Went there for a wine tasting, which was very delicious with generous portions, and found out they sometimes have live music and a food truck parked out front.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of their red wine served on draft. It was a little on the chilled side and had a slight carbonation to it that I’m not used to. Everything else was very enjoyable!

The wine was good and the staff very friendly. The tasting on Saturdays was worth it and of course who would not like to leave with a growler of wine afterwards. A nice little winery in a row of 3 but probably the best one in this area.

Every Saturday: $ 5 tasting fee for 5 wines. You can’t really go too wrong there. With Italian ancestry, Paul Bonacquisti grew up learning the wine-​making craft, but only came to start his own wine company six years ago. Thank goodness he did!
The Carmenere is my personal fave: a red blend similar to a Cab Sav but on the smoother side. But what is bold is the Cabernet and it is downright delightful. I urge anyone looking to sip some wine in a comfortable environment to pay a visit to locally owned and operated, Bonaquisti. If it’s not for the award winning wine they have accumulated over the years, then it’s for the community support this business exudes. Also — when visiting, check into their membership program. It’s a pretty sweet deal with a lot wine education and community engagement through tasting events.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Bonacquisti. I couldn’t find anything bad to say about it if I tried. Wait… ok, too far away. Paul, move it closer.
Now then, this wine is fantastic. The Old Vine Zin is probably my favorite, but I love everything they make. I look forward to every oppurtunity to come here. And when the grilled pizza gets made, YEAH BUDDY!!!
Paul is so friendly and welcoming, he really knows how to treat you. Everything is perfect.
Except the distance. Seriously, there’s a couple of places for rent near me. Snatch one up. Please.

Wow… what a great idea to put all those winery’s in one place… especially for the Denverite who doesn’t want to trek all the way to the mountains for a wine experience.
If you are into wine like I am, then this is a wonderful place to grab a few friends for the afternoon and try many different wines at one destination (since next to Bonacquisti is Cottonwood Cellars, The Olathe Winery, Garfield Estates Vinyard and Winery, and Verso Cellars)
I happened to go the grand opening event this weekend and it was packed. I chose to review Bonacquisti since it was my favorite out of the listed above, so much so, that I joined there wine club. So every quarter I will receive 3 bottles of wine (typically two reds and a white, with one being limited) for roughly $ 46−54/quarter. The club membership also allows you to attend tasting for free, get discounts on wine, and bring fellow winos for tasting too.
The staff was all really nice and they even had some snacks to nibble on… I’m just sad all the vultures swarmed around the pizza when it came of the oven and I wasn’t able to even taste a crumb.
Very, Very, Very excited to go back!

This is my favorite winery on Colorado Winery Row! Pretty much every wine I tasted was amazing, and made me want to buy a bottle of each! My favorites were the Mouvedre blend, and the Old Vine Zin. I liked the wine so much that I even signed up for their Wine Club. How excited am I going to be get 3 bottles of wine in the mail every 4 months!!! Wine club members also get other bonuses like free tastings for you and your friends and discounted/​waived fees for winery events. I’ll definitely be bringing all out of town guests here!
The tasting space is pretty small, and was super packed on opening day of winery row. I imagine that other days aren’t as crowded, and probably more enjoyable. The owner was very friendly and personable, and fun to hang out with while sipping his wonderful wine. They were serving lots of tasty snacks, including a variety of meats/​cheeses, smoked salmon, and grilled pizzas. Unfortunately, the pizza went too quick, so I was unable to try it… but the spicy salami and brie cheese were awesome!
I’m so glad to have found this little winery, and look forward to going back very soon!

This place was PACKED for the Grand Opening of Winery Row. It was extremely difficult to get to the counter to do our tasting and purchase our bottles. In fact, they just seemed to be extremely understaffed. They had one person doing both the pouring & the cash register. It took us over an hour to try the 6 or so wines.
Of the wines themselves, I really only liked the Riesling and the Red blend. The rest I couldn’t get too excited about.
Parking here SUCKS!!! Just give up, park a block away and walk, it is SO worth it. When turning into this lot, you can’t really tell if there are any spaces. Then, there is no where to turn around if you get it and can’t find a space. This made for some Three Stooges style comedy trying to get 3+ cars to back out onto Pecos simultaneously. Not cool.
I’m sure if you go on a «normal» day, it will be a nice trip & tasting. I’d definitely recommend weekdays only until the buzz about this place wears off.
