I am new to Denver and needed to find my local go-​to stylist. I used Unilocal reviews to find this salon. I called to make an appointment, described my hair and what I wanted to achieve. They recommended Darrel and he did not disappoint. I was quite anxious about cutting so much hair. I love my new ‘do!’ Darrel was knowledgable, professional and so fun to chat with. I will definitely be back!

Come to Berenices and get your hair done by Tessa and you will leave feeling like a goddess wanting to build an altar to her and worship her. I can be VERY particular with my hair. This was the first salon I came to after moving to Denver from a small town. Tessa completely revamped my look and I left feeling like my hair was rejuvenated. I’ve been to higher end salons before where I felt like this but soon after, once I was at home left to my own devises, my hair lost its luster. That never happened after I started seeing Tessa and I changed absolutely nothing in my product and care regiment. There’s something about the way she cuts hair (and colors it) that gives it life. She does a great job with listening to what you really want but is also helpful with transforming your dream pinterest hairstyle into a realistic, workable one for your everyday life. I should mention that I have very long, thick hair. Oftentimes I feel like when I get a blow out stylists give up half way through and just dry it the quickest way possible leaving my hair frantically frizzy. They then just result to a straightener which surely damages my hair. Tessa NEVER had a problem making my naturally curly hair appear silky smooth and finished before leaving the salon. If I could afford it, I’d fly back to Denver to get my hair done by her every time I needed it if I could.

I was a loyal Bereniece’s client for years. I wear my cut in a pixie– yes, I have high maintenance hair. I upped the ante by going platinum for a year (btw Paisley rocks color) and they rolled with me. Disappointed to find a calling the salon to book an appointment over the past year a challenge– strange how that correlates to the new space opening?
So I ventured elsewhere, where the folks answering the phone actually want to schedule my haircut/​color and the stylists thank me for letting them style my hair. This is new and different, and frankly why I left and won’t be back. I sure do miss Sara– she is an eyebrow artist like no other in town.

Disappointed!
I had an appointment with Ashley recently for color and highlights, who passed me off to «Frank». I sat for an hour and 10 minutes of processing, which made my hair very dry and damaged.
My recommendation to Berenices would be use timers for processing and not have customers retreat to the lower level to be forgotten after being handed off to someone other than my stylist, especially at a price tag of $ 199 not including the tip for Color/​Highlights only.

I’ve lived in Congress park for almost 2 years now, and I finally had my first experience and loved it. It’s just the type of friendly salon any gal wants.
I don’t have anything major done, just a cut and re-​layering. I can’t speak for the other more in-​depth services, but I can say everyone was really sweet and professional. I haven’t been feeling all too great lately, and I can honestly say their chipper moods and making my hair feel a little fresher made me feel so much better (mood and otherwise).
I also love how the salon is flooded with natural light, even on a gloomy day.
No question I will definitely return.

I recently came in and had my hair cut and colored by Janna. Not only was she very sweet and professional, she also did an excellent job! She made she was clear about what exactly I was looking for! I wanted to be as blonde as you can possibly be and she made that happen! My hair is beautiful and still healthy! Sometimes it can get scary when doing blonde but she made sure it would turn out like I wanted and she didn’t fry it! I asked for a LOB, a long bob and she did it perfectly! I am growing my hair out so its longer than the normal lobs and exactly what I wanted. She was good conversation throughout the entire process and was so professional! She is quite talented and has a natural knack for doing hair! I highly recommend her! The salon is so open, clean and beautiful! It’s a comfortable environment from the minute you walk in. You feel welcome and at home and the staff is very welcoming and warm! I absolutely love how roomy, open and bright the salon is too! If you are looking for a place to go, this is it & Janna is your girl!

I just moved to Denver from the East coast and am so thankful to find Berenices! Lisa did an extraordinary job cutting my hair. I donate every few years but always dread the moment when I chop it all off again. Lisa not only gave me a great cut, she was incredibly and genuinely friendly.
The staff at Berenices will go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and at home — and most importantly, they will make sure you leave more stylish than when you walked in!

This place is great. Friendly staff, clean and bright space, and talented stylists. Just got a long overdue haircut from the awesome stylist Shelbie and I am totally psyched on it — cute bob, perfect as my hair grows out a little. As long as I am in the neighborhood, this place is my jam.

This review is just for Heather who I had today doing my eyelash tint. I have great long eyelashes but they are pretty light in color. She tinted them in brown and now my eyes pop.
She was right on time for my appointment. Discussed the product and what I wanted. She took care in making sure my skin was protected from any dye too. End result was great coverage and no stains on my skin.
Will be going back for sure because of Heather and the nice location. Might I point out plenty of easy free parking around.

I saw Amanda at Berenices today for a standard hair cut. The salon itself seemed rather new and clean, which I think created a lot of noise as hair dryers and conversation bounced off of pretty open and bare walls. However, it was very clean and well maintained.
Amanda was my stylist and I can’t say enough good things about her demeanor as a stylist. She welcomed me and then proceeded to get right down to business. I told her I wanted just a trim, and I wasn’t very specific. She asked questions and really made sure she knew what my vision was before she dove in, which resulted in one of the best looking haircuts I’ve ever gotten.
She started with a lovely head and neck massage, then shampooed me, cut my hair, blow dried and then styled it. All the while, she was educating me about what products she used and why she was using them without being at all pushy about making a sale.
She did a wonderful job and I will be back to Berenices to see her. I wasn’t at all disappointed in her handy work!

Not at all good for a Men’s haircut. I asked for a simply fade. The girl that did my hair refused to use a guard on the clippers. Her reason? «We have skill here,» oh give me a break! I had to get my hair FIXED two days later. Don’t even waste your time at this place.

Not only is Berenices a great location, and lovely inside, but the entire staff was so friendly! They worked around my schedule and got me in quickly. But the best part of the visit was Tessa, who was so sweet, personable, and so fun to talk to. Oh, and my hair looks fantastic, as an aside, which was obviously what brought me in. But I can’t wait to come in again and catch up with Tessa!

I was a Berenices customer when I first moved to Denver. I left them to follow one of their stylists to a different salon. Big mistake. After a few years of floating around salon to salon, I finally got it together and came back to Berenices.
This salon is great! Besides being an Aveda salon, the staff is extremely professional and always courteous and genuinely nice. They are super down to earth, and you don’t get any of that attitude that some salons have. Mary has been doing my color for a while now, and she has amazing talent. I’ve got very dark hair that I like to go very blonde, and her talent in choosing the right colors that look natural is spectacular.
She’s also great with styling for special occasions and her haircuts are on point to make you look the best.
My foils usually take a while to set, and they have a nice area downstairs with a fireplace and large TV and blankets to relax.
I’ve been to so many different places in Denver, and this place is the best hands down.

Got an excellent cut for a reasonable price! They rival salons like Matthews and Luxe but for half the cost. Lisa and Tessa are the best! They also are rated one of the best for eyebrow shaping. Would recommend for all hair types.

I was looking for a new hairdresser and, based solely on Unilocal reviews, chose Berenices. I really wish I hadn’t.
My haircut was fine, but it definitely wasn’t great. I asked for a trim/​to keep as much length as possible and left with over 4″ cut off. I could see 2″ because it had been 2 – 3 months since I had a trim, but it just seemed a bit excessive. I can’t recall who cut it (sorry) which I guess is kind of indicative of the whole experience. I walked in and was greeted, waited about 10 minutes past my appointment time, then sat down in the chair. My stylist hardly talked to me but spent plenty of time chatting with other employees about all kinds of things. I’ve never been to a new salon and felt like they weren’t at all interested in me or who I am or what I’m doing or how I found them or anything at all. It was just odd.
If the people had been great or the cut had been great, I definitely would have gone back. Unfortunately, neither were impressive and if I’m paying a pretty penny, I want to feel pretty when I leave (maybe even pampered).
I didn’t look hideous and the salon was clean. The receptionist was polite and it was easy to make an appointment. I wouldn’t recommend Berenices and I wouldn’t go back, but I guess if you’re okay with minimal (personal) interaction and have a bit of flexibility with your cut, it could be great.

I see Sarah for eyebrow shaping — she does a great job with little fuss — it’s quick and painless, all while giving me her full attention.
I must admit I’m surprised she remembers me each time, as I go months and months between shaping (I maintain pretty well on my own) but I’m especially impressed because it is clear she is very busy there, so to remember an occasional client is very sweet.
I have also seen Heather for waxing and brow and lash tinting. She does a wonderful job too… very engaging but never too personal, considering the intimate nature of some of the procedures.
I am definitely a fan, giving four stars only because scheduling is difficult for me. They have a great online scheduling system, but for someone who works 8 – 5 Monday — Friday it’s hard to get in without taking time off work — and who wants to go back to work with red eyebrows?! Certainly, it’s not their fault that I have to work for a living… but still, that’s the only problem I have with Berenices… They’d have to clone Sarah in order to provide more convenient scheduling!
I’ve also had waxing services and eyebrow, eyelash dying… with another aethestician, whose name escape me right now. Also great service, and well done.

I have been seeing Sarah for my brows for at least 5 years now. Sarah is fabulous, her skill with brows and makeup speaks for itself. For me though what really stands out is that she gives all her clients her full attention. She is one of the owners and is so genuinely friendly and warm. Over the years, she has donated to my kid’s school fundraisers, squeezed me in during her lunch hour to accommodate my work schedule, and treats my kids so warmly when i am forced to bring them in tow. She truly is a gem!
My kids also get their haircuts here and always come away with smiles on their faces, looking like models for the day!
I am embarrassed that is has taken Me so long to sing Berenice’s praises, and i have to admit that what finally got me to do it, is that I was motivated to write a poor review of daily scoop next door where I mentioned in that review the contrast in customer service to Berenice’s. Made me realize I needed to give Berenice’s its due!

I’ve had a lot of haircuts and I can say with certainty that the haircut I got at Berenices last Friday was the best one I’ve had yet. I have curly hair… and I mean really really curly hair. Some salons have decent stylists who can handle my hair, and some have stylists who appear to be deer in the headlights. I took the plunge and tried another new salon in the hunt for a good haircut to complement a new job.
A call to Berenices’ kind front desk staff suggested a variety of stylists in a variety of prices. Being Thursday afternoon before my desired Friday haircut, I was being risky anyway. Melissa was recommended and I won the lottery!
She was amazing. Knew what to do, was confident and kind and did and incredible job. She took the time to blow dry and straighten my insanely curly hair (and the cut she did looked fabulous straight) and once I washed it, the cut was equally great curly.
I’m definitely going back to Melissa and Berenices. The staff is savvy, smart and friendly and the salon is clean, welcoming and affordable.
