There is a reason Benjy’s classes are always full. In the year and a half I have been taking classes at Benjy’s I have seen people grow astronomically and I am one of them. The reviews before are right, Benjy teaches you to ACT. I have not only become a better actor but I felt like I had a safe place to take risks and to be myself. No matter what, Benjy and the other students in class remained supportive and encouraging. If you sign up for classes here you are not only going to become a better actor but you are making life long friendships and a support system. When I audited Benjy’s class I planned on auditing other studios as well and then deciding the best fit. To be honest with you I knew right away that his class was where I wanted to stay. I cancelled the rest of my audits with other studios.

Lots of acting studios in town can attract talented people to their classes; actors who work in the industry and book jobs. Very few can actually teach people how to act. Taking Benjy’s class will actually make you a better actor, no matter what your acting level is when you arrive. Benjy creates a supportive, positive, non-​competitive environment where people can explore, grow and succeed. Benjy has a specific method of teaching acting that actually works; the number of people who made the jump from amateur to professional after studying at BDS is extensive and growing. If you are interested in acting, you owe it to yourself to check BDS out.

I am so glad I found Benjy’s studio! BDS is not just an acting studio, it is a true community! I can not speak highly enough about the amazing work that Benjy does and the incredible atmosphere full of talented people. The safe environment of BDS is absolutely a place for artists to take a chance and develop their craft to the highest level.
I studied with Benjy for years — became a full-​time working actor in Denver during the process — and recently moved to Los Angeles to expand my opportunities. My foundation from BDS has helped me every step of the way. Not only did I notice a change in myself, but I saw transformations from others in terms of their ability to connect with their emotions and create truthful characters (Benjy doesn’t have people «smacting»). Even if you are not an actor, I KNOW you will experience personal development and feel more confident as a result.

There have been very few times in my life where I have felt like I belong. There are even less times where I’ve felt at home. I’ve found both at Benjy Dobrin Studios!
I’ve been a performer of some sort all my life-​dabbled in almost every type of art you could think of. After about ten years of «life happens» situations, trying my hand at any «normal person» jobs that I could find from fast food to EMT to insurance brokerage and even Cosmetology, I finally figured out that none of it could fill the void.
A friend connected me with Benjy and the first night I was at his studio for a free class, I was hooked. I knew I found my place in the world again. Never have I found a community of caring and supportive like minded people!
Benjy has an amazing way of guiding and teaching that won’t rip apart a person’s soul. He is a great mentor and now friend.
I would recommend this studio for anyone looking to build confidence, get better at public speaking and of course learning how to act. It doesn’t matter if its to gear you up for a profession in acting our just for fun, You can’t go wrong here!
