Belemonti’s Chicago Pizzeria

I love Bellemonti’s. Their lunch special of a small pizza, salad (or bread sticks) and a soda for about 7 bucks was amazing. The pizza was very good and that’s coming from someone that grew up in an Italian household. I am very sad to see this place closed.

I think it’s like $ 6.99 for a personal pizza plus a salad or bread, and if you’ve read my reviews, you will know that I always go with the salad. Their salads are great, same with their pizza.
I have had their thin crust pizzas but for being a Chicago pizzeria, I have not had anything Deep Dish from them (then again, maybe that’s just an Uno thing).
I have used them for feeding small crews of like 6 – 8 people, their large specialty pizzas are kick ass, I recommend the Santa Fe; and they have a $ 10 big ass salad special that gets eaten up as much as the pizza, plus something like 10% off if you mention it is for a group, so great value!
There was some terrible rumor about them on the verge of closing, but I have not seen that happen yet and it is all the more reason to go there if you have not yet. Yes we live in a city oversaturated with Buy the Slice pizzerias, and even local chains starting to pull some weight and muscle-​which is not so Sexy if you ask me-​but please GAWD don’t let Belemonti’s become a casualty of pizza turf wars, because it is damn good, the people are damn great, and you should damn well go there!

Got a reply from russel who is blaming me for the poor customer service. Upon reading all the bad reviews it seems to be a common complaint about burnt pizza and poor customer service.. tammy think you might want to rethink your management decisions and you might make some more dough

Excellent Chicago-​style pizza. It is super filling and tastes almost as good re-​heated the next day. This is our go-​to pizza place when friends are over or visiting.

I just want to say that I went to this pizzeria a year and some change ago and it was pretty tasty then. HOWEVER… things have changed apparently.
Came in to find two guys who didn’t seem to care that we were there. *hipsterrrrrrs*
Ordered a personal pizza to share and garlic bread.
TERRIBLE.
No flavor on either item with the exception of a shit ton of dried oregano. The sauce tasted like tomato paste with a TON of dried oregano on it. The Garlic Bread was greasy and had a TON of DRIED OREGANO on it! Are we noticing a pattern?
Does the owner know the terrible quality of product going out of this place?

It was lunchtime and I was hungry so I didn’t really have a first impression, until I ordered. Pizza by the slice/​personal/​or pie, any variety listed on the menu. All I could say in my head was «what the» in a good way. Price was exactly what I expected for a lunch time combo. Very casual atmosphere with all the usual usual suspects. Don’t worry if they’re busy, the food will get to you in no time. Next visit, meatball sub!

The staff is not friendly and the pie is mediocre at best. Wish I liked this place because it’s in my neighborhood.
If you want good pie and excellent service this is NOT the place.

Stopped in on First Friday and it was empty which concerned me at first. After a few minutes it started getting packed! The prices are very reasonable and the food was fresh and delicious! Pizza was freshly made. Jalapeños were very spicy. The Italian salad is such a great value for what you get! Service was good. For those ordering delivery, it probably takes a while because they literally cook it fresh from scratch!

Tried to order delivery at 9:15 on a Friday, but got turned down, because it was 9:15.

Seems to be going downhill. Good pizza except the last 2 times I called for delivery they were without a driver. Getting disappointed in the service… On the second time I pointed this out and the guy on the phone had a very «Well what do you want me to do about it» attitude.

This pizza was Chicago style and delicious. We stumbled upon it when visiting a friend who lives in nearby Baker.
At first the lights were off so we weren’t sure if they were open.
I ordered a garden salad: standard nothing to rave about here.
We split a pepperoni pizza which was filling and delicious.
Prices right it was about $ 24 for two. They have a few seats for dining in but I imagine most of their revenue comes from delivery service.

Seeking out some authentic Chicago thin style pizza, we Unilocaled search and came upon Belemonti’s. My hubby is from Indiana and loves the thin crusted cheesy to the edge pizza that is cut in squares. Belemonti’s looks like the real thing and is pretty close to the the beloved pizza spot we generally hit when in Indiana.
The crust is very crisp (and stayed crisp even cold), the tomato sauce has the oregano/​black pepper flavor and the cheese is plentiful. The only thing that needed tweaking was the pepperoni which was barely noticeable on our pie. It was a great pizza though and very much what we are looking for.
It is a place that is more made for take out, so for those of us who don’t live in the area it means schlepping it home. There are a few tables, but it is very tiny shop.
We did like it, I can see coming back!

In my quest to find some Chicago style thin crust in Denver that rivals my home town pizza we finally found Belemonti’s. According to all the reviews they had «real» Chicago thin, which most places can’t seem to do.
They’re a win! One of the best thin pizzas I’ve had outside of Arni’s in Lafayette. The crust was perfect and crisp and had a little bit of pepper on it. There was tons of cheese on the pizza. My only complaint is that we ordered pepperoni and there didn’t seem to be a ton of toppings on there (solution next time will be to order more toppings).
Another complaint is that the dining room is incredibly tiny. I think there was maybe seating for 8 people. It’s a 30 minute drive for us to get here so by the time we got our ‘za home it was cold. Chicago thin is still good cold, but next time I might have to squeeze into a seat and try it while it’s still hot.

We love this pizza! Being right down the street, we order A LOT. I’m obsessed with Judy’s Delight. We highly recommend this joint for killer pizza! Not only are they super delish, the management is really great. Always really friendly service.

Ordered a personal pizza special with garlic bread and a soda. Was later told they were out of garlic bread (seriously!!!) and was given a salad instead. He kept taking orders for garlic bread though, shortly follows by the salad swap — still can’t figure that out. The pizza was delicious! Great crust.
The dining area is tiny and run down. The restroom… there are no words for the restroom! Filthy with no lock.

Having not stepped foot in the actual pizzeria, I still very much enjoy their delivery. Yes — I’m guilty of being incredibly lazy with this pizza spot only a mere block away from my house, but sometimes Sunday nights are for your robe, your dog, your couch, and the Game Of Thrones première.
I digress. My 16 inch pizza delivery was fast, friendly, and most importantly — cut into small bites perfect for small servings. So, you don’t overindulge trying to finish just one slice that’s the size of your whole body. Plus, the double Italian sausage was delish and the jalapeños were super fresh and spicy. The thin crust is the way to go, too. It’s crisp, cracker thin, and a perfect host of the myriad of ingredients.

We placed an order, stopped by Black Sky Brewery for a couple and then went and picked up our deep dish on our last visit. Good stuff.
The place is run by your typical teenage stoner types who are doing a great job. I like that it is a locally owned joint too. I recommend take out, as the dining room isn’t ideal and this stuff will fill you up so you will have left overs! Pass on the basil tomato garlic bread, there wasn’t much to it. But, go for the deep dish if that is your style, it is tasty fresh and reheated.

Tried the thin crust… brought me back to Chicago in one bite. This place is a gem. Maybe best in Denver. Support this place it rocks. Can’t wait to try the deep dish.

I was really torn between 3 stars and 4 stars. I thought the thin crust pizza was very good, but it has slightly too much oregano. Great cheese and perfect crust. Real sausage instead of frozen. The next time I will just order it with less oregano and then it will be close to perfect.

Sooooo sad. I am not the biggest fan of pizza, as I only order it about once a year, but who doesn’t love deep dish Chicago style pizza? I just moved from Chicago and even I enjoyed Lou Malnati’s style of deep dish. The crust. ooooh the crust. So important.
I was disappointed with the Belemonti’s crust for their deep dish. I think it’s the same as the thin crust… just… thicker. I don’t think it is baked in a cast iron skillet like Chicago style pizzas are supposed to be. I also got their hawaiian, which was ok. But perhaps if they crisped the bacon first, or just stuck to ham, i would’ve enjoyed it more.
Service was friendly, sauce was pretty good. I was just really looking forward to a true Chicago style deep dish.
Next time, I might try the thin crust. We’ll see.

I’ve been on a search for another great pizza place after Famous Pizza shut down and Denver Pizza Company just put too many herbs in their crust. It’s pizza crust, not a salad!
So, continuing my search I landed on Belemonti’s and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza is cut into squares which reminded me of my childhood eating delicious Oregon pizza at the Pizza Deli. The ingredients were also top notch, which the crust being just that. Crust. Excellent.
Now someone tell my body I can eat copious amounts of dairy again and I’lll make this place my new favorite.
