The customer service here really makes it shine above the big box stores. There’s a designer inside to help you pick the perfect paint color in minutes versus hours or days of poring over samples. She helped me find a wallpaper, which was priced far below retail online. Belcaro (now Guiry’s) matched the price.
The experience here is so efficient and friendly (and the paint quality outstanding) that I gladly pay a little extra.

I was reminded yet again why it’s best to shop local. Mike (the store manager) was incredible. I came in with a random project and he straightened me out.
Like someone else said — If you want it done right the first time this needs to be your first stop.

Never shopped here… but I LOVE their sign out front! Usually something witty or funny to put a smile on my face during my commute to and from work! This just might get me into the store one of these days.

Awesome place! I’m so glad we live so close to it. Went in here for decorating tips and paint color assistance and Katie was incredibly friendly and helpful.
She gave me a ton of ideas and helped me pick out a beautiful bathroom color. I will be returning here for our bedroom remodel for sure!
It was fairly busy on a Saturday around noon, however I didn’t have to wait long for my paint to mix.
The reason they only get 4 stars is due to their higher pricing. (Which I understand as a small business.) They will continue to receive my patronage due to their selection and friendly atmosphere and staff.

Ok first things first… this place has been around forever and they do have high quality paint and supplies… I have been shopping here for many years, have spent thousands of dollars and usually they are knowledgable and helpful.
You DO pay more here and can encounter attitude if you are not a designer or know EXACTLY what you want but it has always been worth it as I support local whenever possible.
–BUT–
It seems something has gone awry here, lest not forget as a retail store you are only as good as your customers believe.
Unfortunately I experienced a ridiculous misunderstanding here recently and am here to Unilocal about it.
A simple miscommunication-​an older Belcaro clerk told our painter on the phone they were out of something they actually had-​not a big deal – I thought.
I went in to pick up the order, discovered the mistake and pointed it out to a younger clerk. He then found the product we originally requested and it was even on sale. Win/​Win right… uh no.
Then the older guy jumps in the conversation and was nothing short of a jerk by barking out that I «HAD TO BUY» the mistake gallon too and how it wasn’t their fault. (Uh, yeah it was)
But-​seriously-​is it necessary to be that rude over a $ 30 gallon of paint?
Business must be really tough to come by for this place, oh wait maybe because some of you aren’t very nice? Mistakes happen all the time and what is that old saying…“the customer is always right”. (He forgot about that part)
If he would have at least been cool about it or offered to take $ 10 off or something – it would have alleviated the entire situation and this negative review. It’s often referred to as «take the high road», but he was such a jerk I feel he deserves «special notice». Cheers Unilocalers!
Doubt I will need to return to Belcaro any time soon. Most or maybe all of their products are available at small local places now, so no real reason to chance coming across this guy again.

If you want to do it right the first time, come to Belcaro. They have about a bazillion different paint color choices and on-​site color specialists to help you find exactly the right shade to make your decorating dreams come true. Plus, you can buy little sample bottles of the colors you favor to try them out on your walls before you commit to a whole gallon. A word of caution: if you buy too many little sample bottles, it will end up costing you more than a gallon of paint (not I would know anything about that personally).
The quality of Belcaro’s paints is excellent. You may pay a few dollars more but you will get better coverage than less superior paints, saving you time and effort. And if have questions about the type of paint to use, painting techniques, what kind of brush or roller to use, or anything at all, they will be happy to help you figure it all out. One of the owners, John, is a former chemist for Benjamin Moore Paints, so he is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about paint. This family-​run business is a great asset to the neighborhood.

I recommend Belcaro to anyone who is going to be painting. There are color specialists on staff that are tremendous help. They are experienced and knowledgeable. And it’s FREE! We have used them in the past and when we were hung up on what color to repaint our bathroom, we knew right where to go. One of the specialist helping us suggested bringing in a tile and a drawer from the vanity to ensure we would be satisfied. Several trips later, and about 15 samples on the wall, we settled on a color. It was nothing like what we started with. Every time we went the staff was so patient with us, which I’m sure was difficult because I was annoying myself!
Belcaro carries Benjamin Moore paint and all the supplies you could possibly need. It is a bit pricey, but it is so worth it. I would much rather pay more to have quality paint and staff that really knows what they are doing. And it’s not a big box shop, I can’t stand those places.

I can’t believe there aren’t more reviews of this place. There may be cheaper places to buy paint, but it’s not «as good». Plus, they have all the nifty little tools and the experienced staff to show and tell you how to use them if you are stepping outside your skill area.
Make sure you read or ask about the dry times, though – once I bought paint without inquiring about that or reading the fine print. After I started I realized that it was paint designed to be put on over a large area, left to dry, and the second coat put on the next day. Since the project was a tiny tiny one, I had intended to do it in one day. That is not true of any other paint I have bought here, I was just focused on getting a special type of finished look. When I was done, it looked just like I wanted.
The quality of the paint here is the best. They offered the little sample color bottles long before the TV ads and they also have white boards to put them on for the really nervous. It’s paint that is easier in the long run to use because you need less, coverage is better and it’s easier to apply. If you get a comparable quality elsewhere you are paying just as much.
They also have a whole display of professionals’ business cards right up front, as well as other helpful information displays on finishes, etc. The decorating center is comfortable and easy, you don’t have to traipse through those megabox places just to look at wallpaper or colors. You also don’t have to search around for help. They ask you as soon as they greet you.
I am hooked and think you will be too if you appreciate a quality finish, whether it’s paint for the walls or any other kind of finishes.

From inepxerienced to seasoned painter, or homeowner to contractor, the people here are courteous, patient, knowledgable, and always pleasant. And this place has such an intimate neighborhood feel.
They even have an excellent colorist (word?) who helped me match 3 different colors so that they would compliment each other instead of shock the senses, which is surprisingly easy to do with a gagillion choices of color right before your very eyes, screaming a subconscious, «PICK ME!»
In addition, the quality of paint is far superior to any that Home Depot has to offer. Having been a renter for many many years, I know Home Depot paints for anything from emergency touch-​ups to dramatic experiments, and everything inbetween.
This is the place to go to for quality and service.
