AMF Monaco Lanes

Just a heads up if you are ever thinking of booking a party at this facility. The contract and the group sales people are very misleading… once you sign the «contract» they charge your credit card the full amount and you will not receive ANY of your money back if you have to cancel. I can’t believe they do business this way… I thought only the airlines screwed people that badly, but it seems AMF is right up there with them.

My review is pretty divided. The place is clean, well organized and spacious. We had no problem checking in and got set up quickly. We went over Christmas break so I was expecting it to be busy, which it was but not terribly so. We got set up for 2 games and shoe rentals. We were a group of 4 made up of 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered some food for the kids (a hot dog and some chicken wings and 2 soft drinks) shortly after getting there. We needed the ramp for our 5yr old, but none was available (apparently they only have 3 and one was broken) so they put the bumpers up for us. Now here is where my problem is… the cost. Bowling used to be a family friendly activity that was reasonably priced. It costs us $ 75 to bowl 2 games for the 4 of us. $ 75! That is ridiculous. When you add on the food & tip too, our bill for the evening was close to $ 100. for not even 2 hours of bowling. It’s really highway robbery. I could take my family to the movies, rollerskating, to the museum, out to dinner etc. for less than that and spend more time.
It’s really too bad because my kids had a blast and want to do it again, but we won’t be going. :(

I’ve been here many times and have never had a bad experience.
However, Jake at the front counter tonight was less than pleasant.
Anyway, our lane has frozen almost every other time we bowl. Ugh! Also, every other time we throw a ball the pins fall before they are fully set up. Super frustrating and a little waste of time. The waitress is super sweet though! She’s been very helpful.
Tonight It’s a little pricey for the shoes because they’re $ 5 to rent and its $ 5 games tonight so I recommend on the deal nights you bowl a few games.
Anyway, if there’s a good deal for bowling, I recommend this place because it’s not particularly very busy. I’ve had a lot of fun on cosmic bowling nights as well. But, if problems occur during your game, suggest to move lanes and continue your game.

Don’t come here if you’re looking to get a few games in with 2 – 3 people. They don’t do hourly and with food and drinks it’s actually more expensive than going to Punch Bowl Social or Lucky Strike for «adult fun». Save yourself money, seriously.

This place has become a veritable joke with their new upgrades. I’m pretty sure they just have taken the corporate model of Brunswick Zone and tried to duplicate it so they can increase prices and drive people to play video games instead of actually learn and enjoy the skill of bowling.
I’ve bowled here countless times (200+) over the past 10 years and have seen the many upgrades and changes and I finally just need to come out with my opinion. Corporatizing a local fun bowling alley may be the worst thing you can do to the sport. I understand the need to get children excited about bowling, but realizing that when you make prices so outrageous 4.75 per game and another 4+ for shoes how are you expecting people to get excited and play the normal 3 games? This is how you get people to join leagues… leagues are what make the most revenue for bowling alleys including alcohol revenue… leagues are what drives the sport!
Pumping up the Katy Perry and getting ridiculous feux-​leather couches is not going to make me pay extra money and be happy about it. What happened to league play, good laughs, quality lanes and cheap food/​drinks? Advertise that and my guess is you would get the same amount of revenue instead of bastardizing a beloved game. Their horse S*** loyalty program is another scam they try to hoist upon you so they can start emailing you crappy deals that are just as bad as their regular prices.
Enough with the rant, I have to suck it up and pay these awful prices since it’s the closest bowling alley. I will because I love the sport, but obviously I do have some trepidation and am guessing this will only be a period of time before they get their act together or they too will see what happens to inferior business models. Bowling is great, unfortunately this place is not!

My boyfriend and I do a league on Sunday nights and we have to pay every week. As they know, life happens and not everyone can be there every single week during the allotted time so there is an option to bowl ahead of time. This week we came in to bowl a few days before Sunday as we would not be able to make it. We waited in line for 15 mins even though there was only 1 party ahead of us and three people behind the counter. One of the other people behind the counter tried to help us but the EXTREMELY rude woman told him to wait. She then proceeded to tell us that there were no lanes open at all even though I could see that were. When I tried to ask her about this she raised her voice at me. I even offered to wait until a lane became available. And she said there wouldn’t be one available until after 9 tonight! There were only 6 – 8 lanes being used at this time. This was not the first rude encounter we’ve had with this woman. I believe her name was Rita. If you can’t get us in, at least be nice about it. Maybe an explanation? It was clear she simply did not want to deal with us. Monaco lanes should be careful who they hire and how those people treat really good costumers. We’ve done 2 leagues here and we will not be coming back for a third one.

We started bowling in a league last year and absolutely loved it. We signed up for the same one this fall because it was so much fun. It wasn’t until we got off work early that they had cancelled our league when we got there. No phone call just two free games and a pitcher. There goes our Fridays through December that we all cleared to bowl. Do yourself a favor and don’t do a league here. They’re super unorganized and clearly do not know how to run a business. They did very little to «try» to fix the situation. Turns out they bumped our league because they took in another one, there’s currently 10 lanes open because they didn’t show. We just started bowling and loved it, them dropping the «ball» has really put a damper on our new love for bowling. Thanks AMF! If I was AMF I’d reconsider who works for me and represents the company.

I have not went bowling there but my son applied for a job there. They told him to come in on Monday and when he got there they told him he was still in the interviewing process. It was inconvient and a waste of time of our whole day to do that to him

Thursday night bowling league and plans to come back again and again. Lots of fun and great employees. Love the renovations and only wish they played music more often. Really love this bowling alley!

Approximately 40 lanes. Well-​kept facility, nice staff that is helpful. Bowling machines and computer systems that function reliably.
Family-​friendly place, good food. Very mellow. I recommend.
Only noted that they don’t seem to clean under the ball return where I saw some dust, mud spots, and a big human hair ball. Other than that, it’s a great well-​kept place with comfortable padded seating and newer computer scorekeeping.
2 hours bowling for a person is some $ 13 and you can bowl as many games as you can squeeze in during that time period. The price includes shoes and a ball of your choice.
They deliver food and drinks to your lane. Good service, folks!

I like the place but the service needs some major work. It took an hour and a half to get a cheese burger. The cashier lady lied about my coupons tat I got off line. So I think I’m going to find another ally to play. I spent a lot of money here and every time I keep coming here the service gets worse. So good luck with that!

$ 13/​coors on a Friday! $ 8.50/game and shoes. Great place to take friends. Friendly place with a friendly staff.

Clean, run of the mill, old style bowling alley that offers few surprises except for their prices. Since when does it cost $ 80 for 2 adults and 2 kids to bowl for 2 hours? $ 80! That doesn’t even include the beer that i was going to need to get through the whole outing… They have some specials on certain days, but obviously the day I went there, none of those specials were being offered.
Anyway, very kid friendly place, they have manual bumpers there so it’s pretty hard for adults and little kids to play on the same lane. I’d come here more often if it was more budget friendly.

Fun, fun, fun! And super clean. But the best part is the number of lanes so there never seems to be a wait. Even on the Tuesday night when they offer $ 2 PBRs, $ 2 games, and $ 2 shoe rentals!
For a bowling alley, they do close earlier than some bowling-​loving people would like, however with the professionalism of the staff, the speediness of the service, and the overall maintenance of the alley, I am wiling to make compromises and just start playing a little hooky to leave work early on Tuesdays for the $ 2 Tuesdays!

I came here late, around 9:30 to play pool. Only 3 stars because there’s only one pool table here and their food is really low quality. My boyfriend and I ordered two drinks and played two rounds of pool. We had a good time. The bartender was a pleasant woman. If you’re coming here to play pool there’s only 1 table.

I love this place! The food is weirdly delicious, like, most bowling alley food is a soggy old mess, but this place has crispy, warm, fresh food! The balls are great, the people are great, its an all around great time!

Your typical bowling alley with great customer service. The place was clean, not too loud and service was fast. Did not try the food but from the menu there was nothing out of the ordinary. Would be back to this location if ever in the mood for a game of bowling.

The people are very helpful, the pitchers of beer are cheap enough. Though I think a lane is kind of expensive, I haven’t been bowling in years, let alone in a major city, so maybe my judgement for that isn’t the best.
All around a solid place to hang with friends and have a good time!

Monaco lanes has been a staple in Denver for as long as I can remember. I think I might have a conniption if they ever close! It would be like the sun never shining again. But praise the gods we still have this glorious bowling alley in all its glory.
This place has everything you might need for a hot time with balls. Well… wait. Ok, they got video games, a mini pro shop, tons of space including tables that overlook the lanes for optimal people watching, a bar (yesss!) with decent drink prices, easy going staff, plenty of parking and tons of balls in multiple colors and weights; candy machines, claw machines, slick lanes, and even one of those ball polishers that you’ve seen on The Simpsons, «You’re polishing bone!»
Got kiddos? They’ll set up those bumper bowling thingies and then you can just watch hilarity ensue. Plus, there’s always an awkward date going on or some dude who is way too into his own game to care about anyone else. Great good entertainment!
Sure sure, during league play there’s no hope of getting a lane but at all other times I’ve never had to wait and it’s always been worth it. The electronic scoring machines are easy to use and they don’t break down like at some other places.
I really don’t consider bowling any place else unless I’m not in this part of town. It’s like a beacon of light in an otherwise dull world.

Not one thing to complain about here, even the food is pretty decent (for a bowling alley that is). We had a large group on two lanes so we only got to put in two games for our time but for $ 12 what a deal. The shoes seemed pretty new, lots of balls to choose from and a waitress that kept everyone in the party well hydrated.
Hmmm. wonder if they have neon bowling?
