If you are well off with a tax problem you might try these guys. If your not and have a tax screwup over years equaling 10k or more ATS IS NOT for you. My wife went in for a consultation on a garnishment. The IRS is taking $ 1200 a month. ATS wanted $ 3000 up front and $ 280 to file 1 past tax return with no deductions (simple) just to start. She’s is working her butt off and taking home $ 140 a week after the garnishment. These folks are not out to help unless you pay big up front. The IRS has made it impossible for her to do that.
Watch out for the tax radio/​TV ads… They are all out to get your money. The IRS will work with you directly if you work with them. It is a time consuming hassle but you can do it yourself.
Non of these companies are looking out for your best interests including this one. FYI

I screwed up. Didn’t pay or file my taxes for 3 years. I heard all these commercials on the radio that Advanced Tax Solutions would fight for you to get a settlement. Not to mention the testimonies of all the satisfied customers they have helped get out of tax debt. This gave me a glimmer of hope, so I went down to their office to get my free consultation.
I met with a CPA, and he was very upfront with me. He explained that I currently earn too much for a settlement to be a possibility. He told he would be glad to help me get my taxes filed and would help me work out an installment agreement with the IRS. The fee for this would be $ 500 for each year, and $ 800 to set up the installment agreement. I agreed.
All of their assistants were very kind, and very helpful. I got them all of my info. 15 days before the tax deadline. They couldn’t get in done on time, so they filed an extension. I was a little annoyed, but its crunch time for them, I understood. Once all my taxes were completed and filed, they sat me down to talk about my payment options. They told me that I would have to do the leg work, and fill out form 433A. That the negotiations with the IRS would be very time consuming, and instead of the $ 800 fee, it would now be $ 3,000! I told them I simply could not afford that, and would do the negotiations myself.
I ended up finding another CPA at Comiskey and Company. They also told me that a settlement would not be an option, but after I filled out form 433A, they would go to battle for me. They ended up getting me a pretty good installment agreement and even kept the IRS from filling a lien on me. Their fee…$ 300. That’s right, three hundred not three thousand! It turns out that once the IRS has all your income and expenses info. its a simple calculation done on their computer. I felt really betrayed by Advance Tax Solutions. I am so glad I did not pay them that $ 3,000. I would shop around and compare prices and read reviews before trusting Advanced Tax Solutions with your tax needs.
