Ace Hardware at the Highlands

Since my last review of this Ace, their customer service has improved exponentially. I no longer dread going in there and trying to work it out with unhelpful people. The people have been knowledgeable and friendly, as far as I remember, each time I’ve visited in 2015

I’m so happy this store is in Highlands! Helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly employees. I have made several trips here and they’ve always gone out of their way to get me what I need. The employees in their paint dept are so much more helpful than the «big orange» hardware store. My only disappointment was their paint-​matching tinting machine doesn’t match tints well when you bring in a sample to match. I tried to match 3 different sample of beiges and grays that were on my walls and ended up with tints that did not match at all. I haven’t tried other paint stores for tint matching so I can’t compare, but the tints were so «off» I had to buy extra gallons of paint to repaint the whole room. Maybe the matching machine needs calibration or something. Otherwise a great store!

I adore this local hardware store. Friendly, helpful and for an urban option instead of driving to Home Depot, i am pleased that they have what I need for my home projects.. Also happy to pay a little more to support local. The Ace Reward card is worth getting. Michael in the garden center is an amazing resource. He gave me tips on compatible planting in my garden, spent time showing me what, where and how to plant various veggies as well as tips on what to expect and avoid.

Just moved to the highlands area and Ace is my local hardware store. Super friendly and helpful staff! Had a MacGyver project and a staff member was helpful in brainstorming with me to find the right parts for the job and worked perfectly. Also made sure he followed up with any additional help for questions — recommended!

Didn’t have any issues here. Nice small store that has the basics. Granted, it’s not a metropolis of a store like walking into Lowes but it had most of what you’d find in any Ace that I’ve been to. I can’t really comment on the customer service aspect of things as all I needed were some nails to hang a picture that weighs heavier than the Earth and they had what I needed. Easy layout and I like that you don’t need a Garmin or an overstaffed retail store like some other places.

The store is small but I was able to locate everything I needed very quickly!

I went into this Ace Hardware location for the first time today with a tricky DIY project that was driving me nuts. Alex W was so helpful and went out of his way to make my day a lot easier. Good to have a hardware store in the neighborhood!

We go here anytime we need something small. Haven’t had any issues. I haven’t found the guys as knowledgable as at other Aces I’ve been to, but that’s also a function of the population draw. I.e., don’t expect them to have country boys working there that know how to do just about everything. They are city guys. But nice enough. Prices have been fine for smaller store.

I live just a few blocks away from the store, so I go there quite often. it is always a horrible experience. I have been overcharged for items the last four times I’ve been to that store. Make sure you check your receipt before you leave. The manager at the store could’ve cared less. first three times I was nice about it but the fourth time not so much. Just if you go there make sure you check your receipt before you leave.

Just went there to get some paint to paint my fireplace and it wasn’t busy at all. We stood around for a few minutes waiting for someone to help and then I decided to go to the registrar to get help. One of the ladies paged someone to come help us and yet no one showed up. We decided to leave and saw the girls at the registrar playing with their cell phones instead of finding someone to help us. Now I understand why that place was so slow, the employees are worthless and don’t care about their customers. I blame management for hiring unqualified employees and allowing them to use their cell phones when their supposed to be helping customers. I’m surprised to see that this place hasn’t gone out of business yet. I really hope that the owner of this place reads this and fires their employees for being lazy and finds new management cause only an idiot would hire another idiot to work with them. I come from a family entrepreneurs and I would not let some lazy employees run my store to the ground cause they don’t care about any customers. I’ve been to other ace hardware stores and their not as near as bad as this one. I highly suggest you go to Lowes or Home Depot cause you won’t get any help here. Just in case management does care at all this incident happened January 6 2015 at 330pm and it was two Hispanic ladies that caused this review.

We like. Nice to have in the neighborhood. Great for lawn/​garden needs and around-​the-​house items.

This store has one flaw and that is the staff.
The «kids» who work here are not knowledgeable and don’t care.
They don’t know very much about hardware. For example: a countersink bit.
When I told the clerk that I had just bought the last 15 mm combo wrench and they should order more, I got this look of: why are telling me this as I don’t care.
They have Wi-​Fi (Ace 15 639), but they tell me it is not theirs when I ask for the password.
They need to hire some old farts with knowledge.
They need to hire staff who give a damn about the success/​failure of the store.
