Wax and Lash Bar

I recently moved to Denton and was looking for a regular place to have my eyebrows done. I have been here twice before, and had a pleasant experience both times. Easy scheduling, no problem. The reason I gave this business two stars is due to the lack of customer service. I have called and called with no answer (during open business hours). I was once told they would be closed for two weeks and to call back later to schedule an appointment. Most recently, I called and asked to schedule a brow/​lip appointment. In a span of one entire week, there were TWO available appointments — both in the middle of the day. I love to support local business, but this is one establishment that I won’t be returning to.

Spent $ 100 dollars (not including the top) on a Brazilian wax. It was good but not that good. Honestly I think I got ripped off. Not going back. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This review is loooooooong overdue. I was a regular client of Judith from early 2009– 2011. I followed her to 3 different locations because I just couldn’t imagine anyone else taking care of my nether regions. Best Brazilian EVER! 100% satisfied each time. Even when a couple of rogue hairs managed to escape being removed, Judith had no problem going back in & getting those stubborn ones. I’ve never had products forced on me to purchase & those that I did buy helped tremendously w/​the aftercare. I went from someone who would easily get ingrown hairs to smooth & flawless skin after each waxing. Did I mention that she’s lightening fast & her technique is nearly pain free? Believe it. If I hadn’t moved back to CA, I’d still be her regular. In fact… Judith, PLEASE relocate to Los Angeles! My vajayjay has never looked as pretty since I’ve stopped seeing you.
Ladies, don’t hesitate to give Judith a try. You won’t regret it, I promise! She’s so good, I’m actually considering returning to the black hole that is Denton every 5 wks just to get waxed… & Uh… See my friends. Yeah… Totally for my friends ;)

I love these ladies! I decided to give eyelash extensions a try from my fav specialty boutique, Wax and Lash Bar. I decided on the «everyday look», which is 90 lash extensions on each eye! I know Judith (the bomb for Brazilian waxing) is an amazingly professional, and not surprising… Julie (her sister, lash extension artist & esthetician) was just as awesome!
I arrived promptly, paperwork filled out. then Julie worked her magic!
I must have fallen asleep because when seemed like 30 minutes, was 1.5 hrs!
Much to my happiness, when I looked in the mirror, I had the most beautiful, thick lashes. Just as promised… I had a g’zillion lashes!!!
Yup, I’m one happy camper!

I called to set an appointment and they did not have anything available in the late afternoon or evening. I asked what they have available and I was told they have nothing. The person I spoke with did not try to find any available dates for me to come in. I tried to call on 2 different days and was not able to receive any help.

I’ve never been completely happy with my brows since leaving an amazing aesthetician in another city several years ago, even though I’ve been going to a good place here in Denton for awhile. However, when that place started to go downhill, I decided to give the Wax and Lash Bar a try. Well, Judith has made me happy with my brows again! Her waxing skills are amazing, and the wax she uses is very gentle and non-​irritating. I’ve even gotten random compliments on my brows since she started doing them. I highly recommend this wax bar for facial waxing! I haven’t tried their other services, but perhaps I will…

This is a two part review. First let me say my initial visit was good. When I called to make the appointment they were able to get me in within just a couple of days.
If I remember correctly this place is own/​ran by two sisters, who were both very friendly and welcoming. During my waxing process everything went well. She conversed with me from beginning to end. She also gave me some great tips on aftercare. All in all a good experience.
Here’s part two and my issue…
I made an appointment before I left for 4 weeks out. That day came last saturday ⁸⁄₃₁ 11:30am. I arrived and waited maybe 3mins to be helped. I said my name was chelsie and I was there for my 11:30 waxing. She then said to me oh, she didn’t call you? I said no, no one called me. She then said to me, well she had something come up and won’t be in today. And to expect a call Tuesday or after.
I’m a pretty understanding person. However, I just think that was awful customer service. I get things come up but if you have a business partner why couldn’t her appointments for the day have been called to cancel? Also it’s a WEEK later and I’ve heard from no one.
I want to support local small businesses but this will not be one of them.

Judith is the best! I’ve gone to her for years and won’t go anywhere else-​when I’m in Houston for vacation I drive back up to Denton, just for my appointments. Judith is very professional and does an amazing job.

Judith is awesome. She really wants you to feel comfortabel and get a good wax. Sadly, since I am fresh out of grad school, I had to cut back, and this is the first area (so to speak) where I cut.

The lashes were first class. I enjoyed the service. I would further enjoy a firm price for lash refills just so you know what to expect when returning. My initial and only visit was a bit more than I originally chose.

I had my very first Brazilian wax yesterday. Judith, the waxologist, was amazing! I was so nervous… I’m a little on the pudgy side and have a low tolerance for pain, but Judith put me right at ease. The best part… it hurt, but not as badly as I was expecting. I read all the reviews here and they were all very helpful in my decision to choose The Wax Bar. Before I left, I made my appointment for my follow-​up Brazilian (AND brows) in a month. I highly recommend that you go here for all your waxing needs.

Five stars for both waxing and lashes! I have gone to Judith for Brazilians, brow, and lip for about a year and a half. At first I was a little scared about getting a Brazilian but when I went in for my first appointment, Judith made feel comfortable and relaxed with her professionalism. Her knowledge of waxing and how to maintain your Brazilian is extensive. I will never go back to shaving.
I have gone Julie for lashes for about 7 months and ladies, let me tell you, these lashes are amazing! It has become a very relaxing place to be for me. I just lay down at Jules’ table and take a nap while she puts luscious lashes on. This is also another service I can never be without. My eyes are so much brighter and my lashes are much fuller.
So please ladies, do yourself a favor, and treat yourself (or a family member) to a session at the Wax and Lash Bar!

Went here after reading some postings and I have been going back ever since to get my eyebrows done. Judith is amazing. Great brow waxes and my skin which is usually red the whole day calmed down within an hr in her care.
I went recently for my first Brazilian here and second ever– she made me feel super comfortable. Relatively painless! I didn’t give a 5 star yet but we’ll see if the next one is as good or better.
Where to go in Denton for waxing!

If you have not gone to see Judith yet, you are MISSING OUT! As most of the other reviews state, I was also nervous about my first wax. I wanted to find the best of the best because this was serious business I was about to go through with ;)!! I looked and looked and finally decided I’d try the Wax and Lash Bar because of all the high reviews (no other place even came close). Well, Judith was AMAZING!!! I came in highly anxious and nervous thinking of the pain, and Judith wiped my worries away. Her customer service and friendly personality has topped any place I have ever been too :)! Now, over a year later, I still come to see Judith faithfully every month. This is one routine I DO NOT skip out on. You won’t either if you give her a try! You won’t regret it!!!

I am new in town and in need of a new waxing place and this one received the highest rating in Denton area. I booked my reservation based on the reviews. After all, I didn’t want to walk in to a place not knowing 1) if they will be doing a good job, 2) if the place is clean, 3) if they are experience enough to NOT burn me down there!
I called for bikini and brow wax. When I talked to Julie on the phone, I explained to her that I wanted my bikini wax the certain way and I didn’t know how they will fit with the pricing. I DON’T want a Brazilian but I wanted the sides taken off. She said that would be deep bikini waxing and that was I made the reservation for.
I didn’t realized that Judith was the wax lady and Julie, her sister, is the lash lady. At my appointment, I told Judith again what I wanted, and she said that would be a Brazilian. With a little protest, I told her I don’t want all taken off but she said for what I wanted, it’s Brazilian at this place. Even though I kept my front… OK — whatever.
I gave her 5 stars for being thorough and take time with her work. She added on trimming in the waxing room but I didn’t know at that time it will be additional cost. IF I really got the Brazilian, why was I paying for trimming? Shouldn’t all hair be taken off? It probably is my fault I didn’t microscopically examine her pricing policy for the add ons.
HOWEVER, 3 stars for the price. I paid $ 115 for bikini and brow waxing. It’s the most expensive waxing I ever had. Dude, these are Beverly Hills and Manhattan prices!!! In Denton, TX? I guess the high price is for the convenience.
I am happy for her happy customers, but I am sure I can find another waxing that will be equally good and don’t cost an arm and a leg somewhere nearby — may be not in Denton. Was this waxing worth the price? Not for me.

It was my first waxing. Ever. The only thing going through my head prior to my appointment was how I would never be able to walk again and the horrid horrid pain afterwards.
Nope. Nuh-​uh. Every horror story ever conceived about waxing is untrue! Getting your eyebrows threaded is a more torturous ordeal than getting your *ahem* waxed. And ladies, Judith is amazing. AMAZING!!! She’s such a pro! Believe me, I walked into the Wax Bar completely terrified but left with another appointment! When you’re in Judith’s hands, you’re golden! To echo Carmen L., she will put you at ease right away. There were some very uncomfortable and awkward moments but nothing that she hasn’t seen before. She’ll talk to you the entire time and it’ll feel like you were getting your hair done rather than… you know. Honestly, she’s great.
Gentlemen, you’re going to have to find your own little waxing niche because Judith only caters to the ladies! :)

This place is amazing. From the moment you walk in, seeing the welcoming love seats and pleasantly displayed accessories, you can’t wait to get started. Judith is incredible. No, she is awesome! No, no she is phenomenal! She is thorough. The wax is THE perfect temperature. She is oh so extremely pleasant and gentle. Having gone way too long between waxing, I was concerned about pain, but there was virtually none! I found my new spot! The Wax Bar is THE BEST

I went here based on the reviews for a brazilian. I really like the end result that I got, it is a bit pricey but I think worth it in the long run. I recommend for a first timer, she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed when I went for my first time.

Judith is amazing. I recently moved to Austin and I miss her! She is professional, great at what she does, clean and affordable.
