Absolutely great cashew chicken. Not a great fan of the sauce, but trade the sauce out for some other sauce and this is one of my favorite dishes in all of Dallas.

The only good thing I can say is they deliver. We ordered hot and sour soup, and it was very bland. For entrees we had beef and broccoli, combination lo mein, and Mongolian beef. The beef and broccoli was mediocre at best. The noodles in the lo mein were good but the dish was without flavor. The Mongolian beef was awful. It was mostly onion with maybe 4 or 5 pieces of beef. The portions were of a good size. We will not be ordering from here again.

Gross! My husband and I have ordered take-out from this place a few times, and we always joke about it being the only acceptable way to eat here; the storefront is disgusting. For example, they leave their dirty mop, cleaning supplies, boxes of other supplies, etc. out in the open dining area. Anyway, upon digging into this last take-out meal at home, my husband found a bug leg in his bag of wontons. Some poor cockroach is running around somewhere with only 5 legs. We can no longer turn a blind eye to the condition of this place… we won’t be ordering take-out anymore.

Hey. This is takeout chinese fast food. I love it and eat here at least 3 times per week. I usually have the broccoli chicken or string bean chicken, so haven’t tried everything on the menu. But it’s always been good and met my expectations.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. For what this place tries to be, it’s awesome. Much better than Panda Express. Everytime I’ve gone the sesame chicken has been freshly prepared, crispy(as compared to the mushiness you get at Panda from sitting out so long), and with generous portions. It’s very much appropriately priced too — some people are just cheap skates. This is my go to Asian fast food place. I really hope it makes it!

Don’t buy anything that’s breaded. It’s 90% bread with the tiniest chicken pieces. Everything else tastes like it’s from«Generic Chinese Food Central.»

I wanted to like this place so much. I’ve been back multiple times with the excuse that maybe they were just having a «bad day.» Then I remembered I live in America. If I give you money for services, said service probably shouldn’t be a steaming pile shit in a box filled with MSG and stomach turning«chicken.» I asked for extra scallions and bean sprouts. «Okay. That will be an extra $ 1.00EACH.» I’m Chinese-American myself, but these greedy fools are an embarrassment. They should try eating the shit they serve. That’ll teach them. #amurka #BYEFELICIA PS. Seriously do not get the chicken wings. I’m not kidding here. A joking aside. Just don’t. You know Asians don’t like to waste food, but that stuff was truly in edible. I threw it out. My ancestors are livid. Thanks a lot, Rice Wok Express. May you be forever cursed with the side effects of MSG.

I only gave four stars because the first time I came here what I got was not very good(it was a beef dish) so I would not recommend getting beef here it just was chewy and I didn’t even want a second bite. I decided to give this place a second try last night and I got honey sesame chicken, the lunch portion, which fed me three times. I got fried rice and a side of steamed noodles, they were very good, rice was plain with no veggies in it which I like. The food was even better the next day microwaved. They do have a drive through, don’t expect it to be out right away they make their food fresh, I waited at the window for probably 8 minutes but I don’t mind If I’m getting freshly made food! Overall, Cheap and good Asian food.

Way too expensive, there is always an extra charge for substitutions, and they charge you a dollar extra for 4 I repeat FOUR small pieces of tofu. They are stingy with the meats, and overall this food is mediocre! Their customer service sucks. My broccoli was yellow instead of green. Save your money unless you want to pay $ 8 for a large portion of mediocre noodles and no meat.

This place is kind of tucked away behind dickies BBQ. I stopped one night and placed my order of cashew chicken… then I waited and waited and waited. This is by far the longest I’ve ever had to wait in a drive thru. They did apologize but if I hadn’t already given them my money I would have drove off Excited to finally get to eat I tore into the bag to find out I had no silverware. Not to mention soy sauce! What a low blow. Next up was to find out that their definition of «cashew chicken» is two cashews! TWO!!! And what the had given me was watered down. How does that even happen on a dish like this? I couldn’t even eat it. One thing I can say was the rice was fresh and pretty darn good You might think this place would be ok for a quick lunch, but no matter how bad you are in the mood for Chinese food, go somewhere else.

Their food and service are below mediocre. If you compare them to a category competitor, Panda Express, Panda is a gourmet restaurant. Between the lack of English and cognitive capacity, it took the serving staff 5 – 10 minutes to understand a simple order of meat and vegetables only. Then, there was a 10 – 15 minutes wait, but the order came without the chicken, so I had to wait an extra five min. for that. The generic vegetables were soggy and swimming in some kind of broth, which is highly unusual for an oriental dish. Oriental food always has the sauce absorbed by the meat and vegetables and it looks dry and fluffy. If there is sauce in the dish, it’s usually coating the pieces of meat, not half an inch of it sitting on the bottom. I had to add soy sauce, but even then, the taste wasn’t helped much. Seems to me the kitchen staff lacks some basic food prep skills. While I was waiting for my order, the owner came out and asked why I wanted only half the amount of the sauce in my dish(I’m trying to cut down on sodium) like that was a big deal for him to inquire about. His general demeanor wasn’t very friendly, which seems to be a general trait of Oriental restaurant owners. You know the saying: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I have had two bad lunch experiences at two different places this week, and this place seems to have started the bad lunch karma chain. This once reliable place had good food and good service, but within the 6 months since I’ve been there, this place went to hell in a handwoven Chinese bamboo basket quickly. Both my husband and I are Vegan, when we eat out we, at times allow ourselves to be vegetarian. Hubby ordered his usual vegetable fried rice while I opted for the vegetable delight(#10) with tofu which states in parentheses on the menu to be added by request. I went to place my order and told the lady that I wanted a #10 with tofu. She, I kid you not, asked me if I wanted to add chicken to that. I looked at her and said that I requested tofu. She looked confused and put it in anyways, then I ordered my hubby’s dish which apparently was more normal as she had no confusion about that and I paid and we sat down. Hubby’s dish comes out first. I wait for mine. And wait. Two people order, a person is waited on at the drive thru and someone comes in to pick up their call in order before she finally decides to bring my plate that has been sitting at the window out to me. It arrives, unfortunately. I would have rather she just left it there and we all forgot that it ever existed. Oh but no, it was my misfortune to have not only the hottest damn brown sauce(temperature related), but to have it underneath the most overcooked vegetables(if thats what they were) on the planet. Next to it, a glop of steamed rice that tasted as if it had been cooked in dishwater. I now see why their was confusion about tofu. It was hacked into large cubes, thrown in, not seared or soaked in sauce for flavor. It was thrown onto the plate as an after thought. It was mushy and just gross. If you want a nice vegetable tofu dish I always recommend Pei Wei. Hubbys dish wasn’t much better. He said the water chestnuts tasted as if they were soaked in vinegar. After my meal, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were just rancid. I will have to say that the décor and cleanliness have remained to a nice standard(thus the one extra star)…too bad the food hasn’t received the same attention.

Everything about this place screams mediocre. Not terrible if you’re in a bind and the portions are rather large, but the food is simply underwhelming. Meh.

This is decent, fast Chinese-American food at a reasonable price. One big warning: it is very salty. The hot and sour soup had good flavor, but it was a salt bath. My sesame chicken was good and not too sweet. It’s hard to find decent Chinese food in Denton, and this is pretty much what you would expect from a Chinese takeout restaurant in a medium-sized Texas town; it’s not bad when you don’t feel like cooking.

It’s just a typical Chinese restaurant, nothing special. I got the sesame chicken, orange chicken, and steamed rice. I was not at all over impressed with any of it.

I’ve been impressed with Rice Wok Express to quench a Chinese food craving. My order starts with their Hot & Sour Soup. The soup dish has the right flavoring for a Hot & Sour soup. The roots/bamboo shoots that are generally present in the traditional Hot & Sour Soups are missing. I don’t mind too much though, the flavor makes up for it. The Spring Rolls are great and not too filling. I love Lo Mein, so one night I decided to go with the Combination Lo Mein, and WOW, it was a home run! It’s a huge serving that comes with chicken, steak and shrimp. If it had not been for the Combination Lo Mein, it would be the Orange Peel Chicken that is Rice Wok’s signature dish. I love how they make this dish with tiny bits of real orange peel. The taste is fantastic and you’ll be digging through your chicken looking for the next bite of orange. If they’ll do it, I’ll ask for extra orange next time. Suggestions: It would be great if the Kids Menu were expanded. It’s only limited to ordering Sesame and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Good luck Rice Wok Express. See you soon!

i work in the area and drove by this restaurant while they were in the process of opening up. i kept wondering how much longer because i wouldn’t mind order my favorite«orange chicken» entrée to bring to work. but i can stop wondering now because i drove by today and they had their«we are open» sign up. i stopped in and of course placed my to-go order. it was quite funny because i originally stopped by the quiktrip gas station next door to buy some snacks for week and bumped into a co-worker. so her and i decided to order food from here together. i ordered my orange chicken with steamed rice and she order mongolian beef with steamed rice. she said her mongolian beef was okay. i on the other hand really liked my orange chicken. they were pretty generous with their meat portions but we both wished they gave us more rice to eat with it. we both ended up with a lot of meat left but not enough rice. or maybe we are just big rice eaters. ;) my orange chicken was flavorful and there wasn’t too much breading on the chicken. it said on the menu that it would be spicy but it wasn’t, not even a kick. i love how they put actual fresh pieces of oranges into the sauce because i know some places don’t do that. i’m looking forward to my lazy days of not packing my lunch and placing my to-go order here. i want to try their shrimp with green beans next time. the picture in the restaurant made it look very appealing!
