Wonderful place, but I wish they would double-strain their up cocktails. It’s one thing to have ice chips in a vodka martini(not that anyone comes here for a vodka martini, that’s Chili’s territory) but a Manhattan or Viuex Carre shouldn’t have ice chips. Despite this, I highly recommend the place. No fifth star for smoking, ice chips and their choice in sweet vermouth. Dolin? Really? I saw Antica on the shelf: use that!

A super awesome bar! Had a couple drinks with friends on a Wednesday night and it was nice and cozy. Not too many people, but enough to make it fun. It’s definitely a cool place to go, just make sure you’re ready to spend ~$ 7 per drink(it’s worth it though)!

My boyfriend and I’s favorite bar. The drinks and atmosphere are amazing. If your need a break from the typical Fry street scene, come here, then go down stairs to Andys and watch the best Karaōke in town. One great night all in the same building.

BRING A PASCHALL’s to Dallas. The craft cocktails the atmosphere feels like I’m back in San Francisco. Always a special place in my heart for this bar. Living in downtown Dallas, I only make it up when I’m getting inked across the street. — two thumbs up

I didn’t want to leave. That should saying all, but… Awesome ambience. Made me feel really comfortable. Sebastian engaged me and knew his drinks. Excellent craft cocktails at prices that will make Dallas and Austin blush. Easily one of my favorite places.

Easily my favorite bar in denton. I lovingly refer to it as «Harry Potter Bar» because it looks straight out of the books. Drinks are great and atmosphere can’t be beat!

My favorite bar in Denton! Dimly lit with vintage lamps, comfy leather couches, and great music set the tone for a wonderful evening of drinking beautiful mixed cocktails. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and really want to serve you your new favorite drink.

This place was amazing. Service, atmosphere, drinks. all of it. I had a whiskey sour and just sat around and enjoyed the scene and smoked. Comfortable bar and the drinks are awesome.

Discreetly located up the stairs behind an unmarked door is a quiet little speakeasy that overlooks the Denton town square. A friend and I were lucky enough to find this place in during negroni week and they were running a special for $ 5. I was a slightly skeptical because of the price at first, but all that washed away as I sipped on this perfectly crafted classic cocktail. I would put this as one of the best that I’ve had anywhere, and I know that if a bar can make a great negroni, it’s usually a good sign everything is pretty good. We unfortunately could not stay for more than one cocktail on this trip, but I will sure be back for more next time I’m in town. Not only are the drinks great, but he atmosphere goes perfectly with with the classic cocktail theme. I could easily imagine that I was in the secret library of a roaring 20’s mobster or Chicago politician. There are lounge areas for small groups of people, and a few small tables for couples. The bar staff is very friendly and accommodating, and all dress the part as well — think hipster meets F. Scott Fitzgerald and you’ve got it. I thank my lucky stars for sending us the angel to tell us how to get into Paschall’s — as I mentioned, the door is unmarked. I am so grateful to have found this place and will make it one of my regular stops whenever I’m in the Denton area. If you can find it too, I’d recommend you do the same!

Easily one of the best bars I’ve been to. As a bartender, I was blown away. They have the best whiskey sour I’ve ever tasted, and a host of in house cocktails that are simply brilliant. The bartenders are over qualified, contributing to the quality of the drinks, all the beers are well picked craft brews, and the atmosphere is something you have to experience. Paschall’s feels not unlike a library or study from the turn of the last century. There are full bookshelves everywhere, a chess board, darts, a handful of boardgames, plenty of seating, and a patio. A must-see location in Denton.

Easily one of the BEST cocktail bars I have been to in Dallas(and I have been to many!). The bartenders here are true mixologists that do not just make drinks but truly craft liquid masterpieces. One of my favorite drinks they make here is the Aviator(if you haven’t tried its gin, maraschino liqueur, crème de violet and lemon). Amazing is an understatement!!! Keep in mind it is a small speakeasy so its best suited for small groups or perfect for a date night!

A bit expensive but one of the coolest spots in all of Denton. Total 1920’s feel with lots of neat and vintage furniture. Highly recommend and will be coming back lots. Can’t beat the second story square view either.

As my travels bring me back to Denton, I thought to give this place a try. I enjoy the atmosphere, décor, and the signature drinks. As is my custom when I travel, I went for a signature drink and got the Denton Mule. I enjoyed my interaction with the bartender and the drink is great. Unfortunately, space at this bar is limited and I had to wait as they were at capacity. The seating is okay but I was subjected to the glares of some undergraduate art-type pretentious guests who did not appreciate someone sharing the sofa with them. I verified beforehand that the seat wasn’t taken but they later asked me to move for a friend. Not a knock on the bar, just an experience with the impoverished artsy types that have strong opinions and limited avenues of expression. Overall, overcoming this, the bar is great and I would look forward to returning in the future.

Hade you ever had the desire to walk into a secret society from the 1920’s? Like something you you might see in psychedelic 80’s mysteries? Well that’s what this bar is like. Dark, musty, old, velvetine, exclusive(not actually). You’ll feel like your in another world. There are chess boards to tickle your mind while you sip on some fine cocktail(it’s not really a get-hammered type of place). There are vintage sofas and chairs which distinguish you from the bar-hopping proletariat. There’s a quiet bartend and more hipsters than you can shake a walking cane at. No wonder it’s named«Paschal’s.» All in all its a unique and laid back bar. I recommend checking it out.

I love this bar! I love its relaxed vibe, I love the friendly service, and most of all, I love the fantastic cocktails! They know how to mix a fine cocktail at Paschall Bar, and the prices are totally reasonable. Yes, this is a «secret» that’s no longer a secret, but who cares?! It’s a fabulous bar that doesn’t suffer from the pretentiousness that could so easily invade such a sweet little spot. Vive Paschall Bar! Tip: Do you love Crème de Violette? Get the Spiced Iris!

The hubby and I met some friends here the day before our 20 year reunion. It was their suggestion to meet here. We walked past the unnoticeable wooden door before we figured out it was the entrance. Then we climbed the tall staircase to the smoke filled bar. It reminded me of a scene right out of Austin Powers. It is «Groovy, Baby». It is an eclectic bar with floor to celling books, red velvet curtains, and a mesh of 70’s furniture. After we found a place to sit my hubby meandered over to the bar to get us some beverages. He came back and said you have to come see the drink menu. This is not your beer and wine kind of place. This is pure mixology! You come here for cocktails. That is what they serve and the make it a show. The bartenders don leather aprons and a classic handlebar mustaches. They also add a Tom Cruise«Cocktails and Dreams» showboating while making your drink. I ordered the French Martini, with vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and lemon. The hubby can’t get out of his box and ordered a beer. It wasn’t too loud. We were able to relax and catch up with some old friends in our comfy round sectional in the corner of the bar.

This is one of my favorite bars I’ve ever been to. On weekends when it’s really crowded I sometimes wish it was bigger, but the size of it is perfect for its ambience. It’s like having a cocktail in somebody’s eclectic library. The décor is just too great. They have beautiful vintage/mid-century lights, almost clunky furniture, and cool art. A mock of Michelangelo’s Torment of Saint Anthony hangs in one of the main rooms.(Which you can see for free at the Kimbell just forty minutes south.) I also really love the photos hanging on the men and women’s restrooms. Anyway, the cocktails here are good and cheaper than most in Ft. Worth. I always get French 75s, which I’m a fan of everywhere, but I’ve tried a few other drinks here and sipped on friends’ drinks and they’re always winners. They make good cocktails. I know they also do brunch here, but I’ve never been able to attend. This place is sort of obscure/hard to find. It’s just a big brown door across from the square and next door to an obnoxiously loud bar, Andy’s. You show your ID to the guy at the base of the stairs and then head up. The view of the square from this place is also p great.

The bartender who is usually here is the best I’ve encountered in this town. She is knowledgeable about good, quality cocktails. The Alamo is incredible – what a perfectly balanced drink: citrusy, sweet and a hint of smoke from the mezcal. The bartender also makes a mean boulevardier. Dart boards are quality. The only things it needs to reach that 5th star(admittedly I’m being picky here) is better brandied cherries(it’s a shame to use those neon ones in such great drinks) and some house-made bitters.

So of the twenty-five reviews currently, seven are by people I have either met or am connected to on Unilocal.I have been told repeatedly to go visit Paschall. Even by people at bakeries in town. First off I’m no Hipster, so I don’t think I’d fit in at all. I’m also very comfortable at Andy’s basement bar two floors down. That and Oak St. Draft House. But when some of your close friends, who happen to be motorcycle riders(as far from Hipsters as possible) suggest it and are going with you, you make the detour. As other reviews have said, it has an old prohibition era, time gone by feel to it. Books line the walls, dark artwork above the doors, a chessboard, nice music, no TVs and a set up to make the perfect absinthe drink. If you enjoy absinthe. They have a decent selection of beers and I enjoyed a Widmer Alchemy Ale. They have great cocktails and the woman was very deft at putting together a Manhattan for one of my friends. They also had a good selection of Tequila(also purchased by others). It’s a really small place, but it was nice to just sit and talk, low music in the background and a nice view of the square. Good friends, good drinks, good times. Support Denton businesses! Enjoy.

I would be here daily but for the cigarette smoke. It has an abundance of charm and atmosphere, not to mention cocktails galore beyond the expected. Sadly, even when it’s empty(not often), it reeks of stale cigarettes. It’s also small enough and closed in enough that if you can’t really deal with smelling like an ashtray the rest of the night, you just can’t hang here. Hence my 3 stars. Otherwise, what an amazing place for Denton to have.
