Oak St. Drafthouse

This is probably the most comfortable beer garden patio in Denton. I enjoy this place each time more and more. Simple concept but very comfortable! Their beer list and drink specials are awesome!

This place looks like an old fraternity house on the outside. Which is probably why the beer tastes even better here. Came here on Thursday I believe when ALL TEXAS BEERS WERE 3 BUCKS. My liver and wallet were living in harmony, which hardly ever happens. We had a larger group outside and the heat lamps were gnarly on a chilly night. Another bonus: the graffiti on the tables outside were actually pretty calm. I think I only saw a couple of elephant trunks, Squidward noses out there. Pretty impressive!

Excellent selections on tap, friendly bar staff, great outdoor area. The inside could be spruced up a bit… though I understand that’s difficult at a bar. It’s a fun place to people watch as all types tend to come out of the woodwork :)

Just a great place to chill. By yourself, god forbid, or with your furry and/​or human friends. The staff have always been super nice and I prefer their patio area to the drafthouse on Elm St. You can get Mellow Mushroom delivert here – and let me tell ya – there’s nothing better than a hot pretzel with a cold beer.

Patio, board games, outdoor bar. It works, parking is easy and it’s near the square if you want to bar hop.

Just doesn’t get much better: Remodeled old home, cool and knowledgeable bartenders, quick service, great chill vibe, nice people, board games, doggies, big patio with tons of seating, awesome beer selection, inexpensive, ping pong tables, easy parking — for cars and bikes.

Rustic on steroids. Cheap beer and lots of it to choose from. The outdoor seating looks like fun too but it was just too cold on this February Saturday night. Comfortable spot and worth coming back to.

It isn’t as cool as Eastside, but it is basically the same thing so it doesn’t matter. Flatlanders will deliver you tacos and the beer selection is incredible. The staff is super nice and friendly.

Duh. This place has been my bar home for three years now. I can’t say enough about OSDH. Great staff, solid concept, and the only bar that carries Peticolas Velvet Hammer on tap.

One of the best places to get drinks in Denton, a very large outdoor beer garden with an additional bar in the back. Great space, with heaters for the colder months, long and short tables, just the ideal environment to spend some time catching up with friends over drinks. They have so many beers on tap that you order via numbers, although you can usually also use the name (depends on the bartender). They also have a good selection of cocktails, both cold and warm to choose from, served in special mugs. The Honey Rye Golden Ale was a nice take on the prototypical golden ale, a bit of sweetness from the honey, and some aromatics from flowers, but only smell and no flower taste. The Almond Kiss (hot cocoa with amaretto) was also very delicious, and a good alternative to adding in Peppermint Schnapps. The amaretto paired well with the strong and sweet flavor of the cocoa, just all around great drink, which is served warm and definitely hits the spot when it gets colder outside. If you like Oak St then you’d also like East Side, very comparable with slightly different drink offerings.

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to drink beer and hang out with friends, this is the place to go. Giant patio with lots of seating! Many nearby restaurants will deliver food to here.

Best patio in Denton! It’s large with lots of tables and nice lighting. The inside is really cool too, a remodeled old house. The place itself is just really awesome and a great place to go hang out with friends. I always have a great time here.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their prices are good. They have a great selection of beer and make some mixed drinks.
They host a lot of fun events like weekly running club, a fun Easter egg bike ride hunt across Denton, trick or treating for the kids, and lots of other fun things.

This was my first experience at an awesome bar in Denton. The patio is amazing. The bar itself is housed in the second oldest building (or house, can’t remember) in Denton. Such a cool place! They have a great selection of craft beer, and many mixed drinks as well.

Really good draft house with an excellent selection of craft beers. They have 72 beers on tap! It’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere and the place is pretty inexpensive. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating.

You can get flights if you would like to try different beers. They also serve some really good mixed drinks. I had a really good bloody mary. My wife had their mimso but she said it was just ok. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating. You can go next door and pick up some Tacos and eat at Oak St and enjoy some beers.

CHILLEST SPOT IN LIL D. How can you beat this place? John W. really got this one right. Tons of beers on tap in the 3^rd oldest house in Denton converted to a beer garden. This is by far my favorite bar in Denton. The staff is top notch, the atmosphere is one of a kind, and the beer garden is amazing. Not to mention half the food places in Denton will DELIVER food to you! If you visit Denton and don’t come here, you missed out more than you could ever imagine.

Fantastic Bartenders, cool regulars, comfy drinking setting through out the house! What more could you need. This bar is my first go to when dentoning!
What happens in Denton stays in Denton… you can most likely end up «Netflix & Chill» after spending a few hours here

Old time charm with new craft beer and cocktails. Was amazed at the selection of beer and the atmosphere was second to none. If the inside bar wasn’t great enough, keep on walking out to the huge patio and outside bar. Staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. Really nice to find a place like this in greater DFW. Worth the trip from Dallas.
Note: They don’t serve any food but don’t have a problem with people bringing in food from one of the nearby eateries.

If not my number one favorite place it is definitely within my top two or three places in Denton. The old house is so cool and like like stepping into a piece of history… but with a lot of fun people and fun board games… Battleship, cards against humanity, anyone? Great outdoor area with picnic tables to socialize and have a few drinks with friends. Awesome selection of beers.

Get your going out on the town beard done, grease up the chain on the cruiser (i’m a biking guy) and head out to this place for a great beer and some overall hipsterness.
This place is great! Old house crafted into this great backyard, neighborhood feel sort of place. They have an amazing selection of beers, some cocktails to choose from and food outside (I think, I only came for the beer).
This place is a definite stop when in the Northern Dallas area. I stayed out here because it’s only 35 minutes to the airport and I am so glad I did, great area and this place!

Lots of fun! It’s in an old house with crazy old furniture. The drinks are delicious and there’s lots to choose from.

Awesome bar awesome staff. Reminds me of Rainy st in Austin. Great taps just the right amount of bad ads. I live in Dallas but I would drive all the way to Denton for this place.

Can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Oak St. yet! As I’m sure many people have already said, this is one of the best bars (if not the best) in Denton. The outside area is so much fun and very open, which fits Denton’s personality perfectly. The beer is on point, and they usually have some good specials depending on what time you’re there. The inside is fun too for when it’s freezing outside… they have games and couches and the music is usually great and always something different.
If you live in Denton you’ve probably been here, and if you’re visiting, this is a place you don’t want to miss!

I love this place. It is so Denton. If you like beer, don’t leave Denton without coming here at least one time. It’s great year round, but I like coming when the weather is nice so I can sit outside. (Although they do have heaters for chilly weather.)
There are plenty of different styles of beer to choose from. They will help you pick one and let you sample. Good luck having just one.
It’s in a neat old house. I love the different rooms with the quirky furniture. I usually sit in the front room with the very large, very awesome lamp. You’ll see it right away. It’s the room with the old dentist chair. THERE IS NO TV. HALLELUJAH. Bring a book or talk to your fellow human. I love this place.

Went here with a friend after breakfast on Sunday – don’t judge. Some of us require after breakfast beer. It’s a fact.
Love the beer selection. Love the outdoors area. Love the service. It made me feel like I was back in college, even though that was long long ago.
