We have been getting pizza once a week from this location and have never had an issue until today. Granted we normally get a whole pie and I was only getting a slice today. The price on the board says 2.50 for a cheese slice and .50 for each additional topping. No problem, I ordered it with Canadian bacon and pineapple. In my mind two toppings. Instead of charging .3.50 he charged for a speciality slice. When I questioned the extra charge he was rude. I said that it would have been nice to know beforehand that it would be higher than two toppings. Not much different in price, but the attitude of the person waiting on me will be the reason we won’t return. I will also tell others. There are too many places to buy pizza in Denton to put up with an employee that is rude to a guest.

Um I honestly always come back for the house salad and garlic knots. Spaghetti is always watery and pizza is sometimes cooked lol. Cashiers are rude.

This is real NY style pizza right here in Denton. I come by several times when I am in town, the staffs friendly and the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. Will always come back!’

Went in with the family to have pizza, the price was ok but both my daughter and I ate about one slice and we were done, threw the rest away and left, my wife said her calzone was meh at best. we wont be back.

The place is moderately clean and the staff is unfriendly and not knowledgeable of the products. The pizza on the counter had flys buzzing around and landing on it. It’s overpriced and not very flavorful, albeit BIG. You only need one slice. They charged me .70 extra for a cup of ranch to dip my crust in. Glad we tried it so now we know not to go back!

I would give this place zero stars if possible. I walk in around 9:15pm and apparently this kid working the night shift has no interest in serving me or offering any form of hospitality. He shouted something from the kitchen I could barely hear. I think it was something about only having the foods available under a heat lamp at the front. I look up online and see this place is open until 10. Get a grip kid — you’re probably going to be up there until 11 cleaning anyway. Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any restaurant in Denton — I’m pretty easy going and easy to please I haven’t even tried any of their food but if their hospitality is any indication I wouldn’t come within 10 feet of this place. Good luck.

Good enough service, made mistake of ordering a calzone, outside was hard as a rock, completely inedible. Had cashier/server take it back. Calamai was nothing special. The marina that came with it was good, 2nd calzone was done just right.

A friend of mine joined me for lunch in between classes. We arrived right as the cashier was flipping on the open sign. No one greeted us or seemed happy at all. My friend said the pizza was ok. I got the house salad with house dressing and it was just awful… Definitely a mistake on our part. We’ll be sticking to Crooked Crust.

Tried it today and I’m in love. Pizza by the slice, calzones, etc. I had a combination slice. The crust was perfect. It wasn’t soft, but crisp. I recommend trying it out.

I saw this place and call them and they delivered a pizza to me. Now the last four times I called they say they don’t deliver. And I got a big sign on the window says we deliver. What a piece of s*** place

Slightly above average pizza. Great value for XXL pepperoni pizza for 11.99. We only ate half and so we had left overs. Greasy and thicker crust than expected. I would come back again. Neither bathrooms had soap. Makes me wonder what workers are doing after bathroom. I also question ownership and training if they can’t go to store and pick some soap up. No silverware was out and woman’s bathroom had plumbing issues.

I’m all about a new pizza place in town and have high hopes for this new joint in town, despite its choice of a doomed location. Finally got to try out couple of slices a few weekends ago after hearing mixed reviews from family and friends. The slices are New York-style huge, as the name implies. I really liked how the pizza was thin crust without being soupy/flimsy like many I’ve had before. There was a nice light crunch to the bottom and great flavor around the edges. I tried the Mediterranean veggie and goat cheese/balsamic/prosciutto/sun dried tomatoes slices and took a bite of my husband’s «meat» stuffed pizza. Despite the generous toppings, I found that neither of my slices carried much of a flavor punch. I found the balsamic glaze too sweet, but others might like it. There were a ton of specialty options, so I’m definitely interested to go back to try others. Overall, pretty fair price for a healthy serving of pizza. It weirded me out a little that all their pies are just sitting out on the counter open to flies and the room temperature when you walk in and make your selections, but maybe there’s a cover I didn’t see. All things considered, pretty decent pizza if you can find your way into the awkward parking lot. You can never have too much pizza in a college town… I wish them well!

Not just another pizza shop when it comes to the quality in taste and service. Greek salad is enough for 2 and the slices are more than filling. Price is decent.

«Megh» is too short to leave as a review, so here goes: Service: I was greeted in a prompt and friendly fashion upon entering. One star for that. Décor/Design: The wall paint is hideous. If you ever visited Smiling Moose Deli before they closed, it’s almost a crime what they did to the tasteful design that once resided here. Just because you serve fast food italian doesn’t mean it has to look like someone threw up Christmas on the walls and what appear to be crude wall paintings of New York-y things. Also, the menu is frustrating to read, as it’s full of scripty, close together text. It’s better just to order whatever you usually get at generic New York style pizzerias because that is the fare they serve here. Pizza: I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of vegetable(spinach, tomato) with ricotta. The vegetable was decent as first… then after the novelty wore away I realized the spinach has the after taste that comes with being either frozen or canned. I highly recommend that they consider using fresh spinach. The difference IS palpable. The tomatoes were the best thing about the pizza. The ricotta should have been crumbled a little finer, instead of having huge, ½ inch thick chunks. While ricotta adds a nice, mild texture and flavor, I don’t want to eat a mouthful of it at once. It also dripped what I thought to be juice from the tomatoes, but later realized was grease. And then there was something else… something I couldn’t quite put my finger on… With that slice finished I moved on to the piece I had bought to «save for later»(Ha!) Just plain cheese. I love a good slice of cheese pizza. I sprinkled crushed red pepper vigorously, and that was about the time I noticed that this pizza had WAY too much grease. But I bit into it anyway. Womp, womp. Greasy, bland, and worst of all – DOUGHY. THAT’S what was wrong with the last slice as well. Without the toppings I could see that less than half of the crust was cooked through – the rest was that soft, translucent color and texture of raw dough. I won’t be coming back for pizza. And I think if this place doesn’t step up their game, they will end up being just like Smiling Moose Deli – not in Denton.

Nothing special. The pizza is ok. The calzones are expensive and cheaply made. They have the dough premade(as in already cooked) and sliced in half like a sandwhich. All they do is warm up whatever you order. Great disappointment! Something as simple as a calzone they don’t even make the right way. Slices are $ 2.50 and .50 per topping. I ordered a slice with olives and they didn’t even have the decency to rinse the can juice off. The olives tasted like pure can juice, gross! Not only did the olives taste nasty but they only placed about 12 of them on my pizza, all concentrated in a fist like portion in the middle. I will not be returning to this place. I rather drive to Lewisville and go to Nicks pizza.

I just got back from New York Pizza and Pasta. My guts hurt, I feel fat, and I have indigestion. New York Pizza and Pasta opened up where the Donkey Deli or whatever the hell it was called used to be. It’s got a decent corner spot at an intersection slightly off the square where you have plenty of windows allowing you to watch people rock out in their car while you eat. I can’t really say my first impression of the interior was an impression at all. It’s more like a visual representation of dial up signal with lots of UNT green paint and obligator oblong pictures of cities that pizza lives in. On top of that, the whole place really needed a wiping down. Most of the tables had crumbs and other debris left from previous patrons and luckily for me I picked the most wonky and fucked up table in the place to sit at. The food was food. Bread, grease, cheese, repeat. I got the stuffed pepperoni which was alright, but not any better than the pizza at Golden Triangle Mall. My kiddo got the tortellini which I am convinced tastes exactly the same anywhere be it from a can or othwerwise. My buddy, Jeff, got the sausage pizza. The good thing about pizza by the slice is that you are never obligated to eat another slice. Having a second slice at this place would be impossible unless you hate yourself becuase they slices are pretty big. Neither of us could finish our single slices and we are the kind of small people that destroy food placed in front of us. There are a hell of a lot of pizza choices in Denton and though I won’t say I wouldn’t try this place again, it certainly won’t be top of the list.

Pizza was honestly nothing special. Crooked Crust is better and the price is more in line with the quantity I wanted to eat. We ordered a sausage and mushroom and a pepperoni. The sausage and mushroom was too cheesy and the sausage was like the ones you get in the Tony’s frozen pizza. The little tiny ones with no flavor. The calamari was disappointing because it felt like I was chewing strings of rubber. After mentioning it to the server she immediately responded in an appropriate manner and treated us with concern and etc. she went and spoke to the manager(I suspect owner) who merely looked over and took no action to address our dissatisfaction with the food. We aren’t coming back.

Great new pizza option that has popped up in Denton. When you enter there’s a display of their stuff pizzas, Stromboli, stuffed pizza and calzones. After you order you are given a number and when your food’s ready they’ll shout out your number to locate you then bring you your food(kinda strange but as long as the food gets to you right?) Garlic Knots: 4 for $ 1, they weren’t fluffy like traditional garlic knots, they were more on the harder side, so I’d pass on these, though they were cheap. Calzone($ 7): I got the regular calzone that comes with three cheeses(you can add stuff but I’m a cheese lover and as long as there’s some ricotta inside I’m good). It was HUGE, and so good, if you love cheese and when I say I love I mean you could eat pizza with a 1:1 ratio of dough to cheese, this calzone will blow your mind. Each bite was filled with delicious melted cheese, I recommend sprinkling with crushed pepper flakes for added layer of flavor. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a fruit fly on my drink cup, and I saw some bugs along the inside of the windows. There are outlet plugs along the bar top along the window. Overall great service, the calzone was very filling and I can’t wait to come back next time!
