Service was horrible. My boyfriend and I were here for an nearly two hours just because of the wait time. Another couple actually got there after us and left before we did. We ordered two small cups of miso soup to start(which was good considering that we waited another hour for the food to come out), and three sushi rolls for our dinner. The food was good, but not ‘worth a two-hour wait’ good. Our waitress was not very attentive– I had to grab a menu from the to-go ordering place for us and the guy taking orders there had to go get our server. When the food finally came out, she avoided talking to us very much even when we both seemed displeased, and didn’t even bother trying to compensate us for our wait. I would not recommend this place to anyone; there are plenty of good sushi places, all of them with better service than this one.

If you want some comforting Asian food then Mr. Chopsticks is definitely the place for you. This place had the best Sweet & Sour chicken ever. You can tell they put real EFFORT into your meal. This place is a little hard to find but its worth it. Really good food

Service-incredibly slow to even get water. Ten minutes before someone even came to the table. Food– hot and sour soup was bland. Nothing remotely resembling hot and sour soup and couldn’t be redeemed with soy sauce. No visible chunks of tofu, bamboo or mushrooms. Just broth and pepper flakes. Spring roll wasn’t even a spring roll. It was a terribly tough, steamed veggie egg roll rather than rice paper-wrapped, fresh veggies. No peanut sauce even offered. Don’t bother. Massamun curry was a plate of beige. White rice, white onion, white potatoes, white chicken, beige sauce. So bland and boring once again. Zero spice or crunch from veggies. Basil chicken was a dry excuse for food. The chicken was ground up and had no sauce. Brown rice was gummy. Skip this place in favor of remotely mediocre Asian food from Panda Express…

Mr. Chopsticks is as authentic Denton as one can get. It has been a staple in the community for decades. Although it’s been around for years, the quality of its food and service have remained true. I have traveled and have never found Sesame Chicken that can touch Mr. Chopsticks’. It’s just perfect. There is just the right amount of breading on the chicken, zucchini, carrots and okra. The light, soy sauce has just the right hint of flavor that leaves you begging for more. You have the options of white or brown steamed rice, fried rice or noodles. The fried rice is a unique twist and my fave. Did I mention this was the first place I tried Sriracha? Before it was cool??? Before Sriracha was Sriracha??? That’s how fantastic this place is! Try the Thai Basil with chicken and a fried egg on top… the egg makes the dish from phenomenal to out of this world! The Pad Thai is great with chicken, pork, tofu or beef. They don’t make it with egg, which makes the flavors stand out more in my humble opinion. Their crab Rangoon is a long time fav with consistent crisp wonton skin and creamy, chunky crab/cream cheese filling. You can’t go wrong with any of their appetizers. I noticed they recently changed their tempura breading, which wasn’t my fav but you can’t be perfect all the time, right??! Oh! I almost forgot! Their veggie options rock the roost! They have a great selection so you don’t feel like the menu is only for carnivores! They have a nice beer, wine and sake selection. The sake flight(see pic) was killer good. Don’t forget to check the special menu board… the wait staff forget to tell you the specials sometimes. So, if you make a trip to Denton you can’t go wrong in stopping in at Mr. Chopsticks. In fact, if you don’t, what’s wrong with your taste buds??? :p

Their chicken pad Thai is great. Probably the best dish they have IMO. I was not a fan of the over-priced and under-quality sushi. I have also had their yellow curry, which has an odd consistency, a terrible(for days!) aftertaste, and is not the best. I do like their spring rolls and their service is decent. Great place if you’re willing to stick to one or two of your favorite dishes.

They have a pretty large selection of food to choose from; from sushi, soups, stir fry and different spring rolls. I do not recommend this place if you’re wanting sushi BUT if you’re wanting soup, this place is amazing. their chicken rice soup is so delicious. Everytime I’m feeling under the weather, I usually order it to-go and it fixes everything. If you’re wanting to order via phone, you might have to give them a call between the 2 phone numbers on the site because one of the lines(I’m not sure which one) is usually really busy. Also, if you’re going through the drive through to pick up your order, drive in from Jagoe street! If you go in from Scripture it can get awkward trying to get in line!

The fried rice was waaay too salty and had no vegetables except for an unholy amount of onions. What kind of fried rice is that?!

Mr. Chopsticks has always provided a great meal on my trips back to Denton. They have come a long way from the little house across the street from UNT. The soups are amazing! They should have a 3 soup combo for $ 9-$ 10. Their menu is pretty deep with lots of Asian food styles. Some favorites are: Crispy Spicy Fish, Pad Thai, Vegetable Tempura, Cashew Chicken, Red Curry Vegetables. Service is fast and friendly. Brianna was happy to suggest the few items I haven’t tried yet in the many years of coming.

I eat at Mr. Chopstick’s all the time and the food is typically good, but this evening it was not up to par. The sushi was not good, nor was the Kung Pao Chicken. It is as if the cooks at night did not want to cook quality food, then instead of apologizing, the cook came out and wanted to argue with the clients about the food. Then called us rude for coming in when we came in, and expecting good tasting food. Tonight I am unimpressed.

Casual restaurant for a variety of Asian foods. Chinese, Thai, Sushi. Appetizers — tempura vegetables: Needed a little but more time in the fryer. Was expecting the normal dipping sauce that comes w/tempura but got a sauce that was like duck sauce. — chicken egg roll: Had a little extra time in the fryer but not burnt and taste good. Entres: — Garlic Chicken Stir fry: Flavor was pretty good. My only complaint is the chicken to vegetable ratio. — Pad Jalapeño Tofu Stir fry: My girlfriend order this and said it was good. Service: — Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and informed. My gf picked her dish based on her recommendation and enjoyed it. We would go back.

I have been going here for years and I still feel impressed every time I eat at Chopsticks. The staff is usually very friendly and the place is nice and casual. The menu has a ton of choices and everything I have tried was very good and always fresh. My favorites are the General Tso chicken and the Sesame chicken. I like to spice them up even more with the Sriracha sauce that is on the table. The noodle dishes are very good too. The egg drop soup is hands-down the best egg drop soup at any place at any price. My nit-picky complaints are that the drink prices are fairly expensive for a soda and I have often gone longer than desired without a refill. Also, they removed lemon chicken from the menu which was one of my favorites. Overall one of the best restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

A few months ago I ordered tempura shrimp(deep fried shrimp) and it came back RAW. The inside was jelly-like. The shrimp was clear and raw. I sent it back(I never send back food. Ever) and the girl gave me an attitude and said ok they’ll recook it. It came back a second time, still RAW. Raw shrimp. How? … ?? I cut it open the second time, and didn’t take a single bite. And she asked if it was okay again, and I nicely said it was still raw(news flash I’m not blind and dumb) and she argued with me saying that they cook it at a high temperature where it cooks the shrimp. TOO bad it didn’t cook my food, because they gave me raw shrimp, twice… And the girl tried arguing with me then still charged me for *inedible* raw shrimp lol I’m still confused

Simply okay. I order the calamari as an appetizer. It was the best price I’ve ever seen for calamari(around $ 5.00) but it was super greasy. Still, not bad. For an entrée I ordered Kung Pao Chicken– my go to at any Chinese restaurant. It was alright, but came out lukewarm like it had been sitting around for awhile. I might go back… if I’m desperate for Chinese food that is.

There’s no nice way to put it, the curry was the absolute worst I’ve ever had. I ordered the massaman chicken curry, it had potatoes as big as multiple of my fingers, onions that I took aside and made a small mountain of them on my plate. There was hardly any chicken, and cut into pieces so small that the vegetables dominated over them. The sauce was the worst of all, it was incredibly sweet, like if they had added one more teaspoon of sugar it would be dessert sweet. It was not anywhere near spicy or even«mild». The only positive thing to say about Mr. Chopstick was that their egg roll was decent.

I have been enjoying this place for going on 17 years. The menu has grown a bit, but the food has remained the same over the years, and it’s amazing! I always find the staff helpful and quick and polite, although I can see why some people are put off by them. They are college kids, not fine dining waitstaff. Lots of complaints about the dirty chairs. The chairs are old and a bit stained, true. I don’t care, I will sit in a stained chair and enjoy my sesame chicken every time!

This is my favorite restaurant in North Texas. I have been coming here since I was a little girl and it was on Oak Street. My faves are sweet and sour shrimp, general’s chicken, all of the soups, the eggrolls, and mongolian beef. I dont recommend the pad thai. Its not pad thai. Anything traditionally fried like general’s chicken is insanely delicious bc its fried crispy like fried chicken and then tossed in sauce!!! Way better then ur average Chinese place! Staff is super Dentony and we love sitting outside in the Fall! Love this place!!! If you come when its busy you just need to get comfortable bc everything is made fresh and that takes more time. But it is truly fresh Chinese food!

Got to go at this cute shop in Denton. Ordered the fried rice and pad Thai. The service is friendly and the to go is nice and hot. I would say the food is ok, nothing that stands out. The pad Thai is okay, next time would probably try something else. I need more spice in my food. I would probably try something else next time.

This was my first time here. Came in before the dinner rush and there were plenty of table choices. Per the«Please Seat Yourself» sign. The atmosphere is laid back and has comfortable seats. The server(Conner) was patient and answered all of my questions. He checked on us regularly and kept our beverage glasses full. The sushi was good, they cut my sushi thin per my request, and it still looked good as well as held together. The only complaint was that I ordered spicy and it was not spicy to me, but of course I like spicy. Connor did offer to bring me some spicy mayo but I asked for the spicy sesame oil instead, which was a yummy addition. I only gave them a 4 star because of the appearance of inside the Resturant and ladies bathroom. The tables are uneven, which match the floors and the antique dresser in the ladies room looks like it can tip over anytime. The sign out front stated«Fine Asian Dining» but the inside looks like a surf hut. If you do not mind«relaxed» Asian dining, the food and the presentation of the food is really good. Plus Conner is Awesome!

This was one of the worst Asian food restaurant I’ve been to. Worst than Chinese buffets even. I don’t mean to be harsh, but all 4 of our entrée dishes were unimpressive or inedible. The wait service was very nice though. It was busy even though the food is terrible. Mainly Caucasian customers. My table had 1 Vietnamese, 2 Taiwanese, 1 Caucasian. We were all disappointed and sad we came here. The establishment looked DIRTY!!! When I pulled out a chair to sit down, there were all these nasty brown stains on it. It made me very queasy and uncomfortable sitting down. Most of the time sitting, I kept thinking of how dirty my jeans were going to be and how gross I felt. Ordered sesame chicken. This in no way resembled the sweet taste of sesame chx. And I never knew this dish could even be screwed up so terribly. It was very soy saucy salty tasting. I asked for no veggies. They said they could not do that because the breading or chicken was premixed with the veggies??? Wth!!! When the dish came out, it was not clumped together where it could have been«no veggies.» Basically I think they just want to charge you for half a plate of fried vegetables, less meat. My husband had pad see eww. Very Ewww if I may say so. That is my #1 go to dish. But when I read the description, I already knew it wasn’t authentic and would taste terrible. So he ordered it. And guess what… I was correct! In fact our entire table just looked at the dish and said… What is that??! That’s not pad see eww… It looked like dried up linguini noodle(not even the regular authentic flat noodles) that were slightly brown from straight up soy sauce. It did not have that sweet light soy sauce taste. And the noodles were so dried and hard it was beyond al dente. Like old noodles left out of water and not sealed up to contain it’s moisture. Needless to say, we ate less than ¼ of our dishes. Rice soup was less than okay. You think a restaurant could not screw up rice soup. But they did. It was suppose to be a safe dish. It turned out to be a blegh dish. The only thing I could enjoy was the crab Rangoon. It had a good dipping sauce. And thank goodness they didn’t mess up the simple crab and cream cheese as the filling. We are definitely trying anywhere else but here next time!!!
