Any town that boasts a grave on the courthouse lawn ought to have a ghost or two. According to local legends, Denton, Texas has many! The town will never look the same in the daylight after a ghost tour with Shelly Tucker.
Weave your way through a dark downtown on a 90-minute walking tour as your guide weaves a narrative spell that resurrects the past, uncovers buried secrets, and dusts off forgotten mysteries. History and mystery combine to make a chilling evening of fun.
Tours are different on Friday night than on Saturday night. You might hear the tales of the ghostly hooligan, the dead Comanche’s bones, the librarian who never «checked out,» or the man who survived the Goliad massacre to die in a suspicious fire.
Perhaps you’ll hear tales of Sam Bass and his friend/nemesis Jim Murphy (who some say still haunt the streets of Denton), or the blind sheriff who protects and serves from beyond the grave. If you ask, you might hear the tale of Goat Man’s Bridge!
Does John Denton’s ghost protect the town that bears his name? Take a tour and find out … if you dare! Be sure to bring a hand to hold.
Halloween night for 2015 is booked, and other dates are filling fast! Don’t delay.
History
Established in 2013.
This year-round ghost tour began with just a few stories. Hours of research at local museums and libraries, along with interviews of local residents, have unearthed so many stories that all of them can’t be told in a single night.
