Denton Bicycle Center

Took my little KHS foldie in for a much-​needed tune up. They did a fantastic job and had a very quick turnaround time. For the work that needed to be done, their prices are great. The folks that work there are extremely nice and knowledgeable. They even noticed that I’d covered my bike in yellow and red stickers and they gave me these awesome yellow and red cable stops. Super-​detailed service. Just love these guys.

The owner seems like a good guy. He gave me some great tips regarding my bike! Its a very organized place, a bit pricey but its worth it all the way! If u want to pamper ur bike, that’s the place to go!

On Saturday I became the proud owner of a gorgeous 2015 Trek Silque from Denton Bicycle Center. It was a no pressure environment and I felt comfortable asking questions. The guys who work there were very friendly and knowledgeable. Joe was especially helpful in choosing the right bike for me. Denton Bicycle had a large selection of Trek road bikes and we looked at several models and price points. After discussing my cycling goals with Joe I decided that the Silque was the bike for me. Based on craftsmanship and features I think I’ll happily ride it for a while — and it’s just about the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen!
Besides Trek road bikes they had Townies, kids’ bikes, mountain bikes, and Fit Bike BMX. I thought the accessories selection was good. The shop was fun to look around and they had cool displays made from reclaimed wood. I liked being able to see into the work area.
All those things are great, but the service and attention I received at Denton Bicycle Center really made my shopping experience. I plan to return to Denton Bicycle Center for my Silque’s maintenance and for future purchases.

The older men here have a distinct advantage over the other bike shops in Denton. Their customer service is far above that in other stores.

EXPENSIVE, sales people do not know about the bikes in the shop. Did not even know how much they were. :-(

The Denton Bicycle Center is not your mega bike store, bike mart or your Dick’s Sporting goods type store and personally I don’t think they claim or care to be such. DBC is a great shop where you will always find professional people, great advise and service.
Personally I was in market for a new Mnt bike and after visiting and comparing: DBC, The Bicycle Path and Bike-​O-​rama I had no hesitation going back to DBC to purchase my 09 Gary Fisher ‘Tassajara’. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase and I know that without doubt I would shop there again.
I would have to say that DBC demographic would be with the recreational and serious cyclists that want a straight honest answer to their questions, exceptional knowledge and service after the sale.
IMO: If these values are not what you are looking for… well, you might as well order your purchase online.

Denton Bicycle Center, located on Elm Street, north of the Square and south of University is one of 3 bike shops here in Denton, the 9^th fastest growing city in the country.
I’m not sure that they’ve nailed-​down their demographic yet. Bike-​O caters to the bum, hipster bike crowd and The Bicycle Path has everything from recreation to serious cyclists. Denton Bicycle has neither.
To their credit, two of the guys working there, Steve and Allen, are friendly and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, I’ve tried my damnedest too many times to spend money there and failed time after time. Here’s why: I go to a bike shop to buy what I need to get my bike rideable, upgraded, etc… immediately. As we all know, supporting your LBS is a great thing, but quite simply, you can get parts cheaper online. The downside there is that you have to pay shipping, and, of course, wait.
A good bike shop should have what I need. I ride mtb, road, cx, etc, so obviously that entails a lot of inventory. But, when I need a headset, a shop should have one. When I need a brake pad, they should have it. If I go in for a stem, they ought to be able to come up with something. Alas, Denton Bicycle continues to fail in this respect always saying, «we can order it for you.»
And I usually walk out empty-​handed to go: (1) order it myself or (2) find it at Bluebonnet, the Bicycle Path, Bike-​O, etc.
Also, they are really opposed to selling used parts. Ask me why, and I won’t have an answer. Maybe the retail margins are too low. I’m not sure.
Go here if you need: a tube, and you’re on the north side of town.
I hate to sound like I’m ragging too hard on this shop, cuz I’m not. I simply don’t spend much time or money here. Check it out for yourself!
