Charles Helm is the owner and president of Helm Hotels Group, a

portfolio of lodging companies including HIC Hospitality, Inc., C&S

Hospitality, Inc., MC Hospitality, Inc., Country Homes, Inc., and El

Dorado Spirits, Inc. This established, family owned and operated

business is headquartered in Sulphur Springs, Texas, and consists of a

management and executive team with more than 130 collective years

of experience.

Charles has been involved in the lodging industry for more than 30 years. He now heads an executive team comprised of his wife, Sharon, Vice President of Sales Monica Glenn, Vice President of E-Commerce & PR Zach Glenn, and the Director of Operations, Michelle Wilson. The family presently owns six franchised properties, all award winning. Together, the team successfully oversees all operations. Charles is an actively involved, civic-minded businessman with an unwavering commitment to family, church and good business practices.

Extremely nice hotel! Very very clean and fancy. Shower was nice. Room was nice. Comfy bed. And I love how they had Disney Jr TV channel in the room. My boys really enjoyed that!
My only complaint was not pet friendly :(
My little dog had to sleep in the car. I really wish more hotels were pet friendly. But over all very nice hotel and we had a good stay. Thank you.

This was our wedding venue since we didn’t have too many guests we wanted a small venue, this was absolutely perfect! The ladies, Theresa & Laura went above & beyond to make the day absolutely perfect from letting me set up the night before to giving me a room to get dressed in & for us to enjoy our night. The hotel was beyond clean and extremely beautiful! The rooms were just stunning themselves and the beds, oh the beds were beyond comfy! I am so very thankful and overly impressed. Thank you for making my day perfect!

Great hotel! We stay here several times throughout the year. The rooms are all nice and spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are nice. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. I love their breakfast in the morning.
They have a nice pool area as well as a bar and also a gym. The hotel is within walking distance of a few chain restaurants which is convenient.
Overall, it’s a great place to stay, especially for an extended amount of time.

Stayed here from 6÷21−6÷23 and the hotel was real nice, close to several chain restaurants and the pool area is nicer than a typical, standard hotel. The free breakfast was good, not great and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and you could tell the hotel was still fairly new (probably 2 years old).

This has been one of my best hotel experiences ever! The staff was amazing, accommodating and professional. The room was like a 5 star hotel.
I was greeted at the front desk by Aida (I hope I am spelling that right) who was welcoming and friendly. I then spoke to Laura and Casey who helped clear up my reservation issue and it felt like they were racing each other to see who could help me more. I immediately felt like family!
I had some friends meet me at the bar and Miles was so much fun and knowledgable. He made our whole group laugh and we got to challenge his drink making skills, which was no challenge to him! He ended up keeping us there to closing!
All in all, this was an amazing stay! Thanks guy and you will see us back.

Nice place to stay for business or personal stays. Rooms are large and we’ll decorated. I stayed in a King Suite and the sofa was a little spongy and week. I sunk down too far.
The restrooms are very well done. Showers with multiple Jets spraying horizontally and from above. The bowl style sink and vanity was a nice addition.
The breakfast is, sadly, no better than a budget motel. I can’t understand why hotels insist on serving substandard food! It detracts from the overall experience. Take a lesson from The Embassy Suites on this one.
I’d say here again but I would eat elsewhere.

We stayed here twice. once on our way to san antonio and also on the way back. I loved this hotel. The one king with sofa bed is a beautiful room with tons of space. The hotel is clean and the staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was great. and more then just the usual stuff. Will definitely stay again

Best Pros: More Than Expected:
*immaculately clean, oversize, modern-style rooms with microwaves & mini fridge;
*several popular restaurants within walking distance;
*exceptional hot & cold comp breakfast, including build-your-own omelets;
*Chasers Bar has a daily happy hour & serves good house wine;
*waterfall pool has a great splash area for the kids,
*small exercise room has new, top-quality equipment.
Cons: Not Many
*bathrooms are smallish, but have a roomy shower and standing-bowl sink;
*pool area is small, which means a bit of crowding and noise on hot days;
Bottom Line: Best hotel in Denton. Great value. The manager is very hands-on and is seen around the hotel throughout the day/evening. I stay here every time I come to visit family — unless all rooms are booked, which can happen; Denton is a university town. Reserve early.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. I know what your main concern is, and yes, the free internet connection was great. We were able to stream a movie from Amazon to the tv in our room via laptop (using the long HDMI cable from their tv, even).
The pool looked pretty awesome (if on the small side) – it has a rock wall with a waterfall and splash pad, plus a hot tub. Unfortunately the rain prevented us from using it.
If I were absolutely forced to register a complaint about the joint, I would say that the (free) breakfast buffet was not a gourmet experience. Perfectly edible, though, and of course the kids loved making their own Texas-shaped waffles.
We arrived late at night and found the packs of free granola bars and crackers. What a nice touch. They were also able to give us a late checkout, which was truly appreciated. I would highly recommend this place.

Extremely spacious rooms. The beds were very comfortable. I really liked the décor. I did not get a chance to try the included breakfast, but the smell of eggs and bacon reached the third floor elevator. Would definitely return.

Stayed here 4 days in March 2014 — Beautiful hotel, wonderful extra-modern rooms with large wall mounted TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, safe in room. Very nice staff and the most fabulous complimentary breakfast I have ever seen anywhere — with anything hot or cold you could possibly want PLUS made-to-order omelets! Also a choice of 3 restaurants just steps away from the front door of the hotel. Why the deduction of one star then? Well it turns out they don’t have the «instant water heater» that you find in most hotels now, and there was zero hot water available for my morning shower (one of the 4 days). And it sure would have been nice if the beautiful pool was heated and therefore usable.

My husband and I stayed here last month and had a great experience… I’m having surgery in the area in a few weeks and called to book a room using their medical rates so we could stay near the hospital until I was cleared to travel home (we live 6 hours away). Everything was going great until they found at what time frame I needed, then I was told that it was blocked and no discounts could be given. Tamara at the front desk was great and transferred me to a manager right away to see if that could be overwritten considering the circumstances. That’s where things went downhill. I spoke to Eric who told me they only have 15 rooms available during that time frame and he knows that they’ll book at full price, so while sympathetic to my situation, he won’t approve any discounts; medical or otherwise. SERIOUSLY? A rewards member wants to come back, is offered a medical rate, and then because the manager is all about profit (his words), that discount is suddenly no longer available for the time frame needed? That’s poor customer service if you ask me! I asked if exceptions were ever made and was told they were, but not on busy time frames like I needed. He even admitted he was the one who added to discount block so he easily could have approved the medical rate I qualify for. I can completely understand that they’re about profit, but a $ 150 discount for a 3 day stay won’t hurt them one bit. It will however, make a huge difference to someone who’s about to have surgery and is facing some substantial expenses already. When I told Eric that his response made me want to leave this review, he couldn’t care less. So, while it might not make a difference to him, it makes me feel a little better getting this out there!

We absolutely love staying at this hotel when we visit our daughter. It is spotless, contemporary and so comfortable. The rooms are enormous and have a sitting area, desk and couch. The bathroom is very nice and I love the roomy shower and high sink. The room’s color scheme, materials and design is upscale and comfortable. We especially love the bed and would love to know exactly which Beautyrest it is??? Also, the entire staff, check in personnel, housekeeping, cooks, bartender… Are super pleasant and helpful. We love this hotel! My ONLY complaint is the wireless is weak and spotty. Great stay!

Clean large rooms. Great be and beautifully appointed. Friendly staff. However they are always outbid towels in the pool and workout room. Calling for replacement doesn’t happen when I’m there so I left the workout room sweaty without able to wipe down and without any water to drink.

Wonderful hotel & awesome staff. Very tidy and appealing to look at.
Mr. S and I always stay here when we make trips to Denton. The ambiance of the hotel is very posh. It was hard to believe that a Best Western could look (and feel) so high class!
The rooms are very spacious and we fell in love with the color scheme since it flowed together so well to create a cozy atmosphere. The bed is extremely comfortable and there is a giant TV in front for your viewing pleasure. The bathrooms are pretty good sized and gorgeous, following the color scheme of the room.
The complimentary breakfast in the morning is worth waking up for! For those of you that like omelettes, there’s fresh omelettes in the morning! You request what you want on it and they make it fresh. The other items served are basics — gravy, biscuits, yogurt, cereal, fruit (not fresh, though).
They also have coffee, teas, apple juice as well as orange juice.
Overall, one of the best (if not THE best) hotels in Denton! Also, Texas Roadhouse, On The Border, Olive Garden and Red Lobster are all in walking distance, which is a huge plus.

We got there around 8:30 am (after driving 16.5 hours through the night). They gladly let us check in early and even allowed us to eat breakfast at their free breakfast bar. Which was fabulous. Not only did they have a full spread of hot foods to choose from but there was also a lady making eggs just that way you wanted them. I had 2 over easy and my friend had an omelet. Our room was very clean and the beds were heavenly! Our room was spacious with a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. It was decorated in a modern clean design. I’d recommend staying here when traveling to Denton!

I was very skeptical when i booked this hotel. Another site had a ton of high marks for this hotel and it just seemed too good to be true.
Well it ended up being true. This is the nicest of three hotels we stayed in on our recent trip. We stayed at a hampton inn and a courtyard by marriot.
This best western is not like any other best western i have stayed at before.
The rooms are very clean and oversized. They have the microwave/fridge/coffee maker. The bathroom was actually clean and very appealing in décor.
The one and only complaint i had was the corners of the beds are wooden and my son and i both cracked our shins on them. So just be careful rounding the bed ! The hotel is on a frontage road but the room was very quiet. Had a thermostat on the wall and you can set the fan to run without cycling all night so you have «white noise » The price was certainly the least of the 3 hotels we stayed in. There is also a ceiling fan in the room.

The best western premier hotel in Denton is the best «Best Western» I have ever stayed at. The rooms are very nicely decorated and spacious.
The shower has a very high shower head which is perfect for someone over six feet tall like myself. The sink is elevated off of the counter which makes the bathroom seem a little more «classy». The rooms also have very large HDTV’s, a coffee maker and a small refrigerator. I stayed in a room on the second floor and the room was one big living area. During my stay, I had a few visits to someone in the fourth floor and those rooms were divided into two rooms with the bedroom separated from the living room.
The hotel features free breakfast in the mornings and an open bar in the evening. The hotel staff also will slide the days newspaper under your door every night. The staff here was great during my stay and if I was in the Denton area again, I would definitely book here again.
