Stopped here while passing through the area for a quick lunch. The warm salsa was delicious. My combo plate included a spinach enchilada and a taco with rice(I didn’t get the beans) and I ordered tortilla soup on the side. The enchilada was a little spicy, but very good. The tortilla soup was EXCELLENT and the small was large enough to be a meal on its own(it also included a side of rice). My mom ordered the fajita salad off the lunch menu and said it was one of the best salads she had ever eaten. The atmosphere was fun and the staff was very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised.

Pleasantly surprised! Was in the mood for a Quesadilla, but wanted something a little more on the authentic side. Have never been here before so we decided to give it a try. My quesadilla was everything I hoped it would be. I got a lunch quesadilla with grilled chicken and added the fajita vegetables to it. The normal cost is about $ 7 but had to add a $ 1 for the grilled chicken. It was worth it! It was so hot and so good, I gladly paid that dollar! My husband had the lunch poblano fajitas with both chicken and steak. The steak was a little over cooked but the chicken was just right. Also, mixed with the vegetables were little pieces of bacon. Let’s just say it was definitely a party in your mouth when you ate it. I’ve always seen this restaurant and have wanted to try it and I’m so happy I did! Will be back!

Came right in between lunch and dinner. Service was okay but the staff seemed to be distracted by each other’s Halloween costumes. Food was delicious! Had chicken fajita tacos, rice and beans. Also had a margarita and I had to ask if it was 2 for 1. Usually the waiters are pushing margaritas on u lol. Overall it’s still one of my favorite Mexican places to eat. 2 for 1 margaritas everyday from 3pm to 6pm and all day on Monday!

Food was okay, was pretty good but not fantastic. I came in a really big group and our server was AWFUL. She took so long to do anything. One of my teammates didn’t like her food at all so she politely said she didn’t want to have to pay for it.(It was the taco salad) and the server replied«well I’m not paying for it» and walked away. After dinner when we were paying it took her 20 – 30 minutes to get our money. Awful service and won’t be going back just because of that. Her name is Amy.

I had a farewell dinner with friends here and we were tucked in a corner away from noises. It was on a Tues night and the kids were running around. I had ordered a nacho appetizer which was kinda soggy. My cousin offered me her quesadilla which was yummy. Wish I had ordered the quesadilla instead but I didn’t bring enough cash. The restaurant didn’t stand out so I actually drove pass the restaurant twice.

The food was good and the waiter was very knowledgeable and nice. I was impressed that the menus were actually new and CLEAN(unlike many other restaurants that need to clean theirs. So Bravo to this restaurant for keeping things clean!) Only negative was that the food was kinda expensive(glad I wasn’t the one buying).

We came here with a large party on a Friday night for my brother-in-law’s birthday. The place seemed to be very busy. You couldn’t tell that they were busy with the excellent service that we had. The server was very attentive and my drink never got to empty without being offered another. We had the queso and it was really good. I ordered the Watson Special. It was awesome. I will definitely be back!

Our waitress was outstanding! Friendly, personable, attentive. All this while being snowed under! Unfortunately, that is the only good thing I can say. We ordered the Diablo Chicken fajitas. I have to give credit to the cook. Everything had the same bland dull flavor. Rice, beans, meat, onions, bell peppers(raw!) all the same taste of cardboard. Two stars for the excellent service. Go somewhere else for food.

Every time we come here dine in or carry out we always get a large white queso and at least one order of the Tacos al pastor. It is soooo good! They come on corn tortillas which my hubby loves but I order them with flour, so good either way. Another favorite is the burritos Frito. Fajitas were okay but we have had better honestly. Servers are very friendly and I can’t report ever having an issue here. It is a little loud but that’s just a testament to the good food and the fun loving atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner on the weekend this is not the place to go. Either way I recommend coming in and giving it a try.

The service is hit and miss. When it is a hit, it’s really good, and too be honest, I have had more hits than misses. We don’t go when it is busy, and maybe that has something to do with the service. It is one of two places I go for tex-mex food, the other being El Rancho. Each place is totally different than the other to me when it comes to the food.

If a Mexican joint has good quesadillas then you know it’s the real deal! The Salsa is not too bad, not the best atmosphere as far as a Mexican restaurant goes

The nachos with the hot salsa and cold salsa was super good. The steak here is a must try! Stay away with any chicken order… it was not so cooked it was pink inside. the shrimp taco had no taste. The place is somewhat dirty.

47 minutes to get our food! Fish tacos some had one large piece of fish the others had fish bits. I had a sampler platter could not eat the nachos they put them on top the retried black beans so you couldn’t pick them up without making a mess. Waitress came by 3 times once to take drink orders, once for food order and then again for the check. We were there for an hour and an half. Food was average.

My wife and I ate here with family on Friday the 28th. The atmosphere was a little on the loud side due to a live band on the patio, but the hostess accommodated our request to be seated inside as far from the music as possible; which worked out well. Our server was very friendly and diligent refills. All orders came out perfectly, including special requests by two of our diners. I had the steak fajitas, which were FABULOUS. I don’t know what they do to the onions and meat, but the seasoning is perfect and incredibly flavorful. My wife had the Denham Special(chicken, steak, and shrimp fajita meats) which she really enjoyed. For deserts we had flan and sopapillas, both of which were delicious. The price is good and the service/food do not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back when we’re in town again!

Love this Place! I can only give 4 stars because I hate the lighting in this place :(and I was disappointed a Mexican restaurant did not serve Mexican coffee’s. Really, I laughed myself to death when I had to tell the bartender how to make it; but we had a fun. :) The food is AWESOME and the plating was gorgeous. I had the Diablo Shrimp, outstanding! Stick to the Denham restaurant, we went to the Watson Papi’s and it just did not compare. Service was not as friendly, food was not as good, drinks were terrible, the wait for food was horrendous, and the overall atmosphere was cramped. We will keep going to Denham Papi’s; you have fans with us!

Have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Always fresh and hot. We drive from Baton Rouge just for dinner. They need to open one in Big BR. Great Queso, and naturally the fajitas were great.

The first time I went was great. The second time, not so much. I got some sort of infection(ecoli/salmonella) from my food. I had the chicken tortilla soup. It was awful. I’m pretty sure the meat hadn’t been cooked all the way and there was a layer of grease on the top of the soup. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to get diagnosed by the doctors. My mom ordered some sort of quesadilla and it had absolutely no seasoning and was incredibly bland. I think I’ll pass in future meals there.

Absolutely Fantastic. My husband and I stopped by to try it out tonight and we will definitely be back. The food was excellent and the service was great. Both the hostess and waiter were very very nice and attentive. The beef enchiladas were delicious as were the combo fajitas. The white queso was also awesome. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Denham Springs. I’m so glad we decided to drop by.

Papi’s is worth the drive to a Denham Springs! Great fajitas!!! The chicken, fresh, moist & plentiful. The shrimp, plump & delisious. The chips and salsa, very good. The warm salsa was a little bland for my taste, but when mixed with the chilled salsa, it had just enough kick and tasted great! The service, top-notch, and the lunch pricing, very, very reasonable. The only thing that kept me from awarding a full five stars, was the ambiance. It kinda feels like an old Arby’s, that’s been expanded to meet the demand that I’m sure the great food generates on a weekend evening. I didn’t get a chance to try the margaritas, since it was a business lunch, but will definitely make another trip to feast on the fajitas, and will time it to partake in a margarita, or two. I’m guessing that after that, I’ll not even notice the lack of ambiance mentioned above!
