I am lead designer and oversee operations on a daily basis. Hold a Louisiana Florist License for over 40 years and a Louisiana Master Florist since 2006. Two term past President of Louisiana State Florist Association. Except for a brief time, I have worked my entire career here in Livingston Parish.

My staff and I are all from the local area. Each floral designer on staff has a minimum of 15 years of in-​shop experience.

We here at Jake’s on the Avenue provide professional service and quality work. I stand behind my products 100%.

Jake’s did my wedding 9 years ago. Jake was great to work with. He is very creative and has a great sense of style. Since then, any time I need flowers deliverd I call Jake’s.
Today I worked with Jessica, who was super sweet and did a great job working with me to get jsut what I needed!

I live near this florist shop. I nor my family will never use this flower shop again. We have had problems with this shop on 3 different occasions. The 1st time I called a week in advance to order flowers for Valentine’s Day. I spoke to the owner and she was very kind, I was assured by her that she would wait for me on Valentines Day to arrive and pick up my order since I could only get by there right at closing time. When I showed up, right on the time we discussed, to my dismay the shop was closed! There was no sign of her or my flowers. The next day I called and she told me there was an emergency that came up and she couldn’t stay. So I forgave that, since no one can foresee an emergency. The next time I ordered from Jake’s I was told they would be able to get the type of flowers I ordered for a bouquet I wanted. When I went to pick up that order, I was told the flowers were never ordered, & I was basically out of luck. Yet I received NO phone call prior to this day to let me know the flowers were not available so I could switch my order in time for my event. I was upset, but I gave Jake’s one more shot… for this year’s Valentine’s Day I ordered roses. I was told I could pick them up right before closing time, that they would be ready. When I got there, not only did they NOT have my bouquet ready, they didn’t have ANY more roses! Again, I got no apology, no bouquet, and I was told that since it was almost closing time I was once again out of luck, that they wouldn’t be able to make me anything because they were closing and wouldn’t stay to make me up anything. I gave them three chances, and every time they promised a product they couldn’t deliver nor in the time frame they said I could be done. I do not recommend this florist shop and would rather go get a bunch of flowers at Walmart and make my own bouquet than be treated the way they treat their customers.
