STAYFARAWAY!!! Horrible company to deal with. Lied several times to our home warranty company and I. Home warrenty company contacted Harkins to setup appointment with us on Friday. Harkins made no attempt to contact us and then lied to home warranty company when questioned. When we contacted Harkins directly about the matter they had this to say«Your home warranty company won’t pay us overtime to come out, if want to pay our overtime we can come». When home warranty company contacted Harkins they claimed to have attempted to contact us multiple times when in fact never called. AVOIDTHISCOMPANY!!!

In short, extremely poor customer service. Don’t waste your time and money with Harkins. After being told that a technician was in route to my house, I waited over an hour and nobody from Harkins showed up or called to say they were delayed. After I called Harkins to find out where the technician was, I was told he hadn’t actually finished the job before me but he would be at my house in 15min. 30min later, the technician finally showed up, missing the originally scheduled appointment by over an hour and a half with no apology or explanation. The technician spent more time talking on his cell phone than working and was clearly just trying to move on to his next job rather than properly explain to me the issue and my options for repair. Harkins also required that in order to do the repair, the entire condenser unit needed to be moved away from a disconnect switch to meet a code requirement. This additional requirement had nothing to do with the reason my AC was broken and would be a significant cost to me. I got a second opinion regarding the code violation from a local licensed electrician and a third opinion from another local licensed AC company and both said it was NOT a code violation. Not only was it not a code violation, but they both suggested that moving the disconnect switch itself would be far cheaper than moving the entire condenser, a suggestion that Harkins never bothered to mention. Harkins continued to drag out the estimate for the repair of my ac for several days. It became apparent to me that the only person that could tell me anything besides what the technician wrote down was Mr. Harkins himself. I had to leave 3 messages and wait several days for a call back from Mr. Harkins to find out why his office was dragging out my repair. He was quick to point the blame on others, and never took ownership of the incompetence in his office like the fact that his operators told me a technician was in route when he in fact wasn’t, the fact that the technician missed the scheduled appointment by an hour and a half, the fact that a technician had to be sent out a second time the next day because the first one didn’t gather all of the necessary information, or the fact that I had to leave 3 messages to get a call back. Overall Harkins AC is a disaster to work with. I personally ended up ditching Harkins and getting another company to do the repair. Harkins has no concern for their customers. They’re just looking to bill customers for everything they can rather than taking the time to properly fix the problem and set their customers up with a trouble free system. Don’t waste your time and money with Harkins.
