This quaint & cozy Library has a bit of history, starting with being part of Camp Merritt back in World War I. The building has since been renovated to become a Methodist Church, and now a Library. But don’t let this history fool you, this little Library is definitely in keeping with the times. Everyone can enjoy free wifi from any where in the library, read the local newspaper or hottest magazine/book in their new reading room addition, or use one of their four public computers if you don’t have your own. But the real perks kick in if you have a library card from any Bergen County Library — downloadable books & magazines, online language-learning, as well as many more digital resources. Aside from just books, they have CDs, DVDs, DVD-TV series, foreign DVDs, and separate collections for kids & young adults. They also offer events for kids and adults, such as Afternoon Movie and Book Club; just check their website. And last but not least, for those who live in Demarest and have a library card, you have access to passes to the Guggenheim, MoMa, and the Intrepid. That’s a huge money saver right there! Overall, given their plentiful resources and friendly/helpful staff, I give them two thumbs up
