Hurd’s Hardware

This is a jolt from my memory bank… Hardwood flooring, rows and rows of gadgets, assorted deck shoes for the boaters, paint, and all the nuts and bolts you could ask for.
We were replacing lighting fixtures and adding a ceiling fan to the house in Wake, VA and with a cathedral style ceiling you need more than the little chain that Hunter adds to their boxed fan set. Off to Hurd’s we went… and our veteran salesman took us right to the spot way back in the store where we were met with lots of choices, including an exact match to the chain we needed. Using the floor tiles as his measuring stick and a large set of bolt cutters to snip off our 2′ section we were on our way.
Lots of smiles in this store… help when you need it… oh and if you want to hang around and share fishing tales well look no further than the front counter area for a welcoming ear.
