Hole in the wall is my favorite place to buy feed for ducks and baby ducks. They are wonderful people with a great store that serves the community nicely. When you enter the store you are usually greeted by Skinny the house dog(a lab) who is one of the sweetest dogs in the world. She has a friend that is also sweet and a beautiful dog. Hole in the Wall Feed is in an area that makes you feel like you are in the country. A gorgeous area with friendly, wonderful people. The feed is very inexpensive and they put it in your car with a smile. It’s a funny sight to see me backing my shiny Mercedes into this place that looks like it belongs in North Carolina. They sell various items used on farms as well as fresh honey etc. I hope this place never changes and stays as charming as it is.

My house backs onto a lake, My husband and I love to watch the ducks and other wildlife that come into our back yard. We started feeding them bread and popcorn, which they seemed to enjoy. I looked on the Internet to find out the best foods to feed ducks. It turns out that bread is not so good. It fills them up without giving them the nutrients they need. A better choice is SCRATCH, which is also used as chicken feed. It is a combination of various grains. I looked in the telephone book and found a few feed stores. One in Delray Beach is Hole In The Wall Feed. It’s right on Atlantic Avenue, just west of the turnpike. I called them and they said they carried a variety of feeds, including scratch. They said that a lot of people who feed ducks buy it. My husband buys scratch in fifty pound bags. It may come in smaller sizes, but I’m not sure. Ducks, geese, even squirrels love it. When one of the ducks had babies I was able to buy baby duck food from Hole In The Wall. Going to Hole In The Wall is like taking a trip back in time when that area was mostly rural. A fifty pound bag of scratch is under twenty dollars and they give you a discount if you pay with cash. The nice people that work there will load the feed into your car. If you go to their office, be sure to say hello to their dog Skinny.
