Aloha Dry Cleaners & Alterations

I’m very picky about my dry cleaners and have driven 30 minutes out of my way to maintain a relationship with my old one. Recently, I didn’t have time to make the drive (twice) so I researched and found Aloha. Everything I’ve given them has been perfect. Alterations, laundry and dry cleaning. I couldn’t recommend Aloha more.

Great price great people to deal with great company. My shirts and suits look great every time.

Bait and switch! No realistic alteration quote provided! I feel completely ripped off! I went in for a few minor /​simple alterations except perhaps one. I was given an estimate for one of seven items for a sleeveless top strap shortening. It came out twice as much! Another item cost more than the item itself — $ 72 — for a simple hem and on-​the-​seam– alteration!!! If I had known the costs up front (like one’s mechanic does) I never would have bothered with them! They told me they «don’t know until they get in there»! This isn’t a Mercedes or surgery. It’s a simple hem! Total cost over $ 200! I could have replaced all items for not much more than that!

Clothes never come out clean. Went there the first time, it was bad. Gave them another shot, it was worse. Too lazy to find another dry cleaner so gave them another shot… still awful. Do not recommend. To make it worse the girls who work there are always absolutely miserable.

They do all my clothes and I like to keep a nice wardrobe. If there is a problem they make it right. The hours are good and it’s easy to park and get in and out. They have a nice customer focus and the people who work there seem to enjoy it — which is always great as a customer. I appreciate being able to have special instructions and they make it happen.

The single worst dry cleaner I have ever dealt with! They lost two $ 500 theory suits and countless shirts. Did they ever call and offer to replace them no? Did they ever repay me no?
Oh and did I mention they are super slow and always late!
Absolutely worst dry cleaner I have ever dealt with!

YIKES! Hopefully you’re smarter than we were and you read these reviews before using Aloha Cleaners.
I took my two wedding dresses to Aloha after our wedding to get cleaned. While I was there, a man was explaining to the owner that he had been in there 3 times to pick up his shirts and that since they had clearly lost them, he wanted to be compensated for his lost clothing. The owner was really rude to him and refused to give him any money for the garments they had lost. I should’ve seen that as a sign, turned around and run far from there.
I was quoted $ 120 to clean each dress and was told to come back in 6 weeks. When I came back 6 weeks later, they told me they needed 6 – 8 more weeks for the second dress. So I paid $ 120 for the first dress and 7 weeks later, my husband went in to pick up the second dress. They tried to charge him $ 160, and when he explained that we had a receipt with a quote for $ 120, the lady behind the counter became irate and very disrespectful. When my husband called me from Aloha I could hear the lady yelling at him in the background. My husband is very laid-​back and easy-​going so I asked to speak with the lady. She came on the phone and immediately started yelling at me. I couldn’t get a word out, and her only explanation was that she had to do some alteration to the beading in order to clean the dress, so I needed to pay more money than I was quoted. I asked her why she hadn’t called me to approve the additional charges first and she initially tried to say that she HAD called me – a lie – and then changed her story and said «Doesn’t matter, I not releasing dress without full pay.» (She’s got an accent.)
So basically instead of letting her hold my wedding dress hostage my husband paid the extra charge. Such poor customer service, especially because if they would’ve done the right thing they would’ve kept loyal customers who spend $ 100-​$ 150 a month on dry cleaning. It’s not about the extra $ 40, it’s about how awfully we were both treated.
Save yourself time, frustration, and money – listen to all of these reviewers and RUN.

Used to use Aloha even though they were more expensive than the other area cleaners but never again. Took a Merino Wool Sweater (Men’s Medium) into them and it was returned looking as if it would only fit a 10 year old. After having to wait for a manager while everyone else helped other customers, I am taken to a stairwell to talk to the manager away from the customers so they won’t see what has been done to my clothing.
Excuses were:
1. Express does not put the proper washing instructions on the clothes. (I had brought the same sweater into them three times previously with no such issues).
2. It could have been something wrong with their wash or one of the workers doing something wrong (admitting fault but refusing to say those words).
3. Waving the back of the receipt in my face saying that its not her problem.
4. Saying that clothes (LIKE A CAR) depreciate over time and that this stuff happens with older clothes (Sweater is 3 months old).
After all of this for a ruined $ 70 sweater I am offered $ 25. Total joke. Accidents happen but I expect business owners to take responsibility for their employees and their business. I will never be going there again and I highly recommend anyone reading this goes elsewhere or they’ll end up with ruined clothes and a much lighter wallet.

First off, let me say, with the name «Aloha» I was expecting a Hawaiian-​Themed joint with grass skirts and coconut bikini tops. They do NOT have this theme going, so save yourself some frustration and don’t bother if that’s what you’re looking for.
They did have a professional setup and friendly staff (it took me a little while to come around because I really wanted girls in grass skirts). The prices are pretty competitive with the other cleaners I’ve used, but they paid more attention to my items, such as pointing out missing buttons and such. They also pointed out stains I had been walking around with, making me look like a four year old that just learned to eat cake, that my friends and coworkers had either failed to notice or failed to inform me of. So kudos to the cleaners, shame on my friends. I’m still looking for new friends.
The day I went in they had donuts for the customers. I know what you’re thinking and let me stop you right there: they were NOT Hawaiian donuts (whatever those are). They had a bunch left over, but no Boston Crème donuts. Who gets a variety pack of donuts without Boston Cremes? That’s like getting a pizza with no cheese, just Un-​American. I’m not from Boston, mind you, but they happen to have spectacular donuts. So I settled on a pineapple jelly filled donut because I was still butthurt about the lack of Hawaiian-​themed items in the store.
When I picked up my clothes, they remembered my name, which was kinda creepy. Theres a fine line between awesome customer service and restraining order type of behavior. I did notice a strange car outside of my house the night before, but I’m pretty sure it was a coincidence. My clothes were fabulous. I mean just great. I don’t use the word fabulous freely, or even in person or anywhere someone might recognize me, so let that be an indication of how impressed I was.
This has been my experience every time Ive returned. They still haven’t changed names OR themes, but the service is consistently superior. I highly recommend this cleaner with the caveats that you aren’t looking for a theme congruent with the name AND you don’t particularly like Boston Crème donuts (and if thats the case I’m surprised you can even read).

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! I dropped my dress of to get altered 3 ½ weeks before my event and throughout those weeks I called frequently to ask when it would be ready and BOTH locations were very rude to me over the phone, telling me my dress was at the one location and vise versa, then I called today and asked if my dress was available and they DIDNT EVEN ALTER MY DRESS… VERY disappointed.

Why did I not check these reviews first? omg horrible. horrible.

I was loyal customer for years despite the mediocre quality of work and poor pressing (They blamed my $ 350 shirts) and ridiculous prices. When they lost 3 pairs of my wife’s pants and only offered to pay a % of their value (which I still haven’t seen despite them making me print out catalogue pages of what they lost from the j crew website) we easily replaced them with a home pick up and delivery service (Posh Cleaners). The owner Nancy said I could never find anyone to do the work I wanted. Boy was she wrong. On a positive note Nancy’s 2 daughters are lovely and the tailor on-​site Margeritta is fantastic. Unfortunately Nancy runs the place poorly and dishonestly with an iron fist.

I had a terrible experience at this dry cleaners. I needed an alteration on a bag but wanted a price estimate first. It took over a month just to get an estimate. Then they did the alteration on the bag and it wasn’t what I asked for at all. Instead of calling to ask if I was okay with it, they just did it, and then expected me to pay over $ 40. Throughout what ended up being about a 2 month ordeal, I had to call on nearly a weekly basis just to get an update. Wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you need something like an alteration.

Amazingly awful experience. Avoid this dry cleaner like the plague — unless you appreciate dishonesty, shoddy service and outright thievery.
I called Aloha and was quoted $ 45 to clean a sheepskin rug. I brought the rug in and paid $ 45. The rug was supposed to be ready in 2 weeks. Aloha didn’t have it ready until over a month later.
Finally I went in the pick up the rug. There were 2 invoices. 1 for $ 45 and 1 for $ 123. I explained that I had already paid, but they couldn’t find records of my cash payment. The owner, a histrionic woman named Ang, insisted I pay another $ 75.
I should have left. In the end, after shelling out a total of $ 113, which is $ 68 more than my original quote.
In the end, my rug was not even properly cleaned!

In the English language, Aloha is a greeting that means «goodbye» and «hello». In the case of ALOHA CLEANERS it means say GOODBYE TO YOUR CLOTHES AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
Unilocal needs to add a ZERO star! If you ever want to see your clothes again and be treated with some level of respect as a PAYING customer DO NOT GO TO ALOHA CLEANERS! Not only do they lose your clothes they continually LIE to you about resolving the issue and not once have a I ever received a call back from them as promised to rectify the issue. Over the past 2 years Aloha has literally cost us $ 3000 out of pocket between lost clothes or not being ready by the date promised.
My husband and I travel frequently for business averaging at least $ 200+ per month of dry cleaning at Aloha since we move to Delray 2 years ago. Last January my order wasn’t ready when promised when I had to get on a plane (had to buy $ 1000 worth of clothes upon arrival) and they lost a pair of jeans but I swept it under the rug as the people on the W Atlantic location were nice and they seemed like a decent establishment. But then my husband brought in a $ 1700 Italian suit to be cleaned and then our personal horror story started. When he went in they said that the jacket wasn’t there because the button had broken (LIE #1) and they were having them fixed. He had to fly that day and delayed his flight since they assured him they would have it that afternoon (LIE #2). Upon return, they said the jacket was in «Nick the Managers» van and he wouldn’t be back until the following Monday (LIE #3 — and seriously where do they come up with this stuff?!?). But they promised they would call us when they had the jacket back! Of course NO CALL. Two Saturdays later we stop in at the W Atlantic location to check in and they have no recollection of the previous B.S. they had fed us about the jacket being in the manager’s van (LIE #4 — tip for Aloha, at least remember your lies makes for better faux customer service)
At this point we have somewhat wised up and since my husband has to fly the next day we decide to hit Bloomingdale’s and buy a replacement suit for $ 1800 dollars. Still no call from Aloha and it becomes clear to me that they are hoping we will just go away. I call them several more times and they assure me that they are trying to find the jacket and they PROMISE they will call me by the end of the week (LIE #5). Called again this Monday (now it has been close to a month of this B.S.) and they ask that I bring in the pants and what it would cost to replace. I then take time off work to run down there and give them the pants and the assure me it will be resolved by Wednesday (LIE #6). Skip to Friday, no call so I stop in at the W Atlantic location. The attendant acts shocked that no one got back to me and sends me over to the NE 2^nd location to talk to the manager. Of course she knows nothing about this as OF COURSE THEY HAVEN’T BEEN DOING A THING TO RESOLVE THIS. The manager calls the owner (her mother?) who says she needs another TWO WEEKS to try to find the jacket. Infuriated I tell them this is unacceptable they have had long enough and the manager assures me I will hear back from them this afternoon (LIE #7). SURPRISE no call!
Now they have the pants as well which I’m sure we will never see again.
And HEY ALOHA CLEANERS if you are reading this, we are not going to drop this issue. At this point it isn’t even about the money, it is about how disrespectfully you treat your customers.

Worst experience. Spent over $ 300 (which is normal for me monthly). They ruined a St. John jacket — 9 out of 12 buttons broken. When I took it back, they took no responsibility whatsoever — said it is the fault of the maker. Said they would have the manager call me — 4 days later, I’m still waiting. Probably fine for non-​expensive clothes but if you have designer clothes and want people who care and are not snide — find somewhere else

It never fails, every time I go in, no matter who is working I get a smile and quick service when I drop off my dry cleaning. Thanks guys!

I never considered becoming a fan of a dry cleaner but Aloha Dry Cleaners has made me one! The staff takes friendliness and professionalism to another level, they are always a pleasure to do deal with plus are quick and reasonable.

Professional, efficient, fast, and friendly are the first 4 words that come to me to share.
Beyond that every owner and employee I have ever come in contact with is caring, helpful, and excel at providing the best dry cleaning service I have ever encountered.

Aloha Cleaners is the best I’ve found in South FL. The quality of customer service and care for your clothing items cannot be matched. Most recently they saved my clothes and bedding from a terrible mold situation and saved me thousands of dollars. I drive all the way from Boca Raton to use both locations. Keep up the great work Aloha Team! I highly recommend these cleaners!!!
