I used to be in moderately good shape. I could run(I guess technically it’s called jogging if you’re this slow) a 5k in 30 minutes, bench press more than my weight, and do my share of pushups and crunches. Then I spent 6 years traveling the world while working in a cubicle when not traveling. Constant jet lag, eating out for every meal, spending at least 90% of every day sitting or lying down. When my health insurance offered $ 500 towards a gym membership, and at my physical I was told I’m horribly out of shape, I decided to find a gym to go to. I did a lot of research. Crossed out any gym that did not have someone motivating you, as I knew I wouldn’t go. Also, crossed out group classes where everyone is forced to do the same thing and boxing, since I wanted the workout to be based on my personal progress and was not willing to risk injury. I settled on yoga and Top Form. The problem with yoga ended up being that they were not compatible with my erratic schedule, so I went with Top Form. I started off with Evan who did a physical assessment, which confirmed that I’m weak all around, but especially my core, lack balance, and flexibility. He then designed a program to fix this. I have had three seasons with Evan and two with Jake, and find that I’m slowly getting back into shape, but with a stronger core than I ever had. I even see a six pack in the mirror, before I eat breakfast. I find that I’m stronger, sleep better, eat better. At $ 50/session it’s not cheap, but with the cost of healthcare, I’d rather spend a few hundred a month on a gym membership than at a doctor’s office. The facility has everything needed for an amazing workout, and there’s showers and a changing area for the pre-office/post-office workout. There’s a spring water dispenser, and cups for the times I forget to bring my water bottle.

I’m moving to Albany area and looked up the best fitness facilities. I was really impressed with Top Form, I met with Evan and was very impressed with their fitness philosophy and the programs available. The staff made my girlfriend and I feel very comfortable and at home. This experience was one of the best I’ve had at a fitness center. I would definitely take advantage of their free consultation to check them out.
