K C Nails

I called ahead and came in for a basic manicure. There were a few awesome things and a few terrible things… but I just can’t overlook the bad things to give them three stars.
Awesome:
1. Stayed open for my manicure appt at 7:00 pm when I saw they normally close at 7. This meant only the manicurist and me were in the salon but it wasn’t so weird.
2. She stopped me from walking out too early and chipping my nails, applied a quick dry top coat, and then went through my bag and got my keys so I wouldn’t chip anything. I wish I had someone watching me like that every time.
3. Did a really good paint job — sides, ends, all the way to the cuticle, and perfectly layered coats.
Terrible:
1. Only one brand of nail polish that I never used before.
2. I gave her money that included a 25% tip, and she didn’t ask if I wanted change.
3. She took a phone call that took a few minutes and then didn’t apologize at all when she hung up. Just held my hand the whole time while I waited for her to hang up and continue, and then when she finally hung up, asked if I thought Macy’s would be open tomorrow.
4. No shoulder massage at the end (this is a dealbreaker for me).
I’ll try some other places. It’s too bad, because she did such a good job on the polish.
