History

Established in 1957.

Holiday Skating & Fun Center was established in 1971 and has become a treasured staple of the Delanco community over the years! We love providing a place for healthy, wholesome fun for our friends and neighbors, and with over 40 years of building wonderful relationships, we look forward to many years of great memories to come!

Don’t ever come on a tuesday on organ music night. The worker in there was so incredibly rude working the skate rink. and they do dances in there when you have to sit out and watch !!! Waste of money

Just had my daughters birthday party here. Everything went great and all the staff were very friendly nice and accommodating. The price was very reasonable and we also went with the private rental. They took care of all the set up and clean up so we could relax.

Floor is huge and in great shape. Some slippery spots, warped boards, and uneven spots but not bad for a rink over 50 years old. Hard, off-​floor surface and not carpeted so there is no lint which we loved.
The adult morning sessions draws about 15 – 20 people. All but a few regulars are somewhat serious artistic skaters in skating outfits doing specific dances and do tend to cut in and out of the circle. The music which is recorded organ, polkas, marches, and old movie themes and there is no special lighting.
We were surprised to be interrupted during our skating and while stopped to receive unsolicited skating critiques, comments, clothing advice, and other «helpful tips» all artistic based which is not the style of skating we do or nor the type of skates and wheels that we have. We just wanted to have fun, skate around the circle, and get some exercise but were made to feel uncomfortable doing so.

Huge skate floor but the music is HORRIBLE. A lot of it is really bad dance music. It makes it hard to get into a rhythm to get your roll bounce on. I live so close but drive out of my way to a rink with better music. Kids seem to enjoy it though. But I’m not a kid, nor do I have any so…

HOLY MAN! HOLY HOLY HOLY My husb and I went tonight and the floor was so great. Wood throughout the space. Even around the rink, no gross indoor/​outdoor carpeting to fear. It was a regular Friday night, so there were a ton of kids to watch out for (merely speed bumps). In comparison to other rinks I’ve been to though, very well behaved and a large percentage skated pretty well. Very little skating in the wrong direction or haphazard crisscrossing.
At the end of the session, the fellow next to us was putting on his skates and he explained that he was a competitive skater. We asked if it would be ok if we stayed a little while to watch he and his partner practice. They graciously agreed and their coach told us tons about the sport and history of the rink. It was insanely cool.
We’re going back on Tuesday for adult night. The trip out from Philly wasn’t too bad at all and it was so much nicer than the rinks I’ve been to around here.

The first time I walked into Holiday a couple years ago on a Tuesday night I felt as if I had just walked into a David Lynch Film. My friends and I were the youngest people there by at least 30 or 40 years. The men and women were wearing their hand man skating outfits and doing specific ‘dances’ to the live organ music. You wouldn’t think that a 70 year old could give you a run for your money until you spent a night here trying to keep up with some of them.
Every tuesday night at Holiday is Adult night, you must be over 18 to attend. Additionally its always –someones– birthday, maybe even yours and you celebrate it with the store bought cake that is always present and welcome to all. If you don’t know the ‘dances’ get someone to show you or get off the floor. Be prepared to do a lot of sitting if you don’t do the dances, and respect your elders.
If you’ve never been to a tuesday night at holiday you really need to get your priorities straight.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Stepping inside is like stepping into a time warp.
I went for a friend’s birthday to the Tuesday night adult skate. These adults are serious! Everyone was over fifty! And all the ladies wear skating outfits. The old-​timey organ adds perfect ambiance to the rink.
There are also special skates, but if you don’t know the dances, get off the floor. They’ll kick you off anyway. But part of the charm is watching these couples skate. It’s incredible. I skated with an older gentleman who told me that some of the regular folk are in their eighties and nineties! How’s that for endurance?
Not only was it an incredible skating experience, but an experience overall. I’d go even if I didn’t skate, just to watch the skate-​dancing. It was really inspiring just being there. It made me want to be a better skater.

Put on your twirliest skirt and lace up your skates for a night out at this totally retro roller rink.
Tuesday nights are «Adults Only», meaning you gotta be over 16 to get out on the floor and work your moves to the sounds of live organist Ralph Brown.
If your spirit is willing but your ankles are weak, get over to the center early for an adult skating lesson before the open session from 8 – 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
