History

Established in 1997.

Desert To Tropics began as a hobby long before it went business. Plants of interest were home landscaping plants, trees, palms, and then cactus and succulents. Begun on a shoe-​string budget, Desert to Tropics has grown to be a Central Texas wholesale and retail supplier reaching Austin and surrounding area, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. Plants on the bench include but are not limited to Haworthia, Crassula, Euphorbia, Trichocereus, Echeveria, Ferocactus, Ariocarpus, Aloe, Astrophytum, Lithops, Kalachoe, Monadenium, Huernia, Stapelia, Agave, Echinocactus,

While in the early days before Desert to Tropics, Jay Arredondo went to San Antonio College, Austin Community College and The University of Texas Austin. Major was Biology.
